Greeted with a friendly welcome and no pressurised selling. When help was needed Stuart showed us around and answered all our questions. We then choose an Ercol Reclining leather sofa but the wood trim was too light for our room. Stuart said no problem that their Furniture Restorer could change the colour to suit our living room. Thanks to Stuart we now have a beautiful and very comfortable sofa.

This was our first visit to Material Things. We were impressed, not just by the quality of the furniture, but particularly by Stuart Munro who quietly guided us to our decision of two Stressless chairs. He made some helpful suggestions about facts we had not considered and his artistic eye enabled us again to consider combinations of detail of which we had been unsure. He had an in depth knowledge both of the construction of the chairs and the manufacturing process and kept us informed throughout the wait time. It was a pleasure to deal with such a non- pressuring salesman and we have been delighted with our chairs.

We have dealt with this company for many years and have always had fantastic service. We recently decided to look for 2 chairs to replace a settee as I need more support for my back. Having looked at various options and with the help of Stuart Munro he patiently guided us through many points that we needed to know regarding the support different chairs gave. We came away to think about all the options and when we returned to place our order, again Stuart was never pushing to sell us something until we were completely sure of the comfort and importantly the support the chairs were going to give. We have now placed our order and look forward to them coming. If you are looking to buy furniture and want good knowledgeable service you should call in and see them.

If you are looking for sofas or armchairs have a look in material things where you are treated like a Proper person with care and patience...We definitely would not go anywhere else...

Throughly recommend this company. We’ve had a lovely but near impossible “curved” couch recovered. Such is the skill of the re upholstery, that they’ve much to my delight recreated the loose covers. So I not only commend whoever carried out the job , but also a huge thank you ,for us getting a much loved and well made couch back as new. I also had a shutter door fitted, this was also an amazing job. Excellent carpentry.

We purchased 2 sofas & chair and had a few ongoing manufacturing faults with the sofas. Matt could not have been more helpful to resolve the issue and then negotiate with the supplier for us to replace like for like or with a different brand we went for the latter and delighted with our choice.
You get what you pay for and we so got that on product and in abundance on service. Thank you Matt for going above and beyond to ensure you had a very happy customer.

I was looking to buy a chair and phoned to talk to the store, they were super helpful and gave great advice. We arrived on the Saturday and were greeted but left to explore with no hard sell, just advice when we needed it. In the end we didn't buy anything despite being very tempted by a sofa I really didn't need!
The staff could not have been more helpful and I would happily return to purchase another time. 5 star service

The service from material things was excellent from the home visit, collection and return of my sofa, the staff were all very professional.

Carpets fitted throughout the home, came round measured, samples supplied to check colours etc. Old carpets removed, new carpets fitted plus furniture moved by said fitters. Fabulous service from start to finish.

What a wonderful find. After two and a bit weeks, Material Things collected, refurbished and recovered and redelivered our sofa set. It’s like brand new at 1/3 of the price of a similar quality new one. Thank you for such a great experience.

We have used Material Things for a number of years. We recently have had a patio awning fitted. Once again the company provided a first class service and a special mention for Bob, Keith and Simon who completed the work today. Thank you so much.

I can't recommend this company highly enough. We wanted to change the flooring throughout the downstairs of our house and from first visiting the showroom, to the finished floor, Malcolm the business owner and his team of fitters Steve and Max have been so helpful and knowledgeable. We even discovered an issue with our washing machine connection during the fitting and Steve the fitter purchased some new pipe and sorted this for us too. All our belongings that needed to be moved have been treated with care and respect, and everything has been left clean and tidy at the end of each day. First class service.

Absolutely delighted with my Grandma's wing back armchair that was returned to us today. Material Things have once again done a fantastic job! They recovered our old sofa over a year ago.
Andrew who comes to measure and quote is a pleasure to deal with.
I chose rather an expensive fabric that could have easily been ruined by an inexperienced cutter.
The chair looks stunning and is once again very comfortable. The team made a wonderful little bolster cushion as well.
The service is always excellent with timed furniture collection and delivery.
I notice a few negative reviews which I find totally unbelievable based on my own experience.

Within 2 weeks of collecting our much loved sofas and armchair, Material Things returned them beautifully reupholstered, looking and feeling like new. The skill of their craftsmen is exceptional and we are thrilled with our 'new' furniture. We would also like to mention Bob and Keith who took great care in delivering our sofas etc. We also had a new carpet and underlay fitted and Steve did an excellent job with this. A truly skilled team and we would definitely recommend Material Things.
