Yet another confirmation of terrible customer service. Listen!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Meermin.

I placed order U-0709395779, just a BELT, of all things, and, from the beginning, the customer service and communication were poor. After the order was placed, days pass and it showed no meaningful tracking movement, and I had to repeatedly follow up to understand what was happening. Instead of receiving clear, proactive communication, I was left waiting with vague responses and no real resolution.

Eventually, Meermin informed me that their central warehouse had indicated the order appeared to be lost, which explained the lack of tracking updates. At that point, after all the delays and uncertainty, I expected an immediate and clear refund offer. Instead, I was simply told they had submitted the invoice to initiate a claim and that they would notify me once they had more information.

For a premium-priced shoe company, this level of customer service is unacceptable. If an order is lost before reaching the customer, the customer should not have to keep chasing the company for updates or wait indefinitely while internal warehouse or carrier claims are handled.

Only after I escalated firmly did Meermin finally process the refund. While I do appreciate that the refund was ultimately issued, it was not done proactively, I had to go back and forth for days about this, and the overall handling of the situation was very poor. The company’s communication felt slow, impersonal, and reactive rather than professional or customer-focused. On too of that, responses from the tram were contradictory, they said it was 1) delivered, then 2) that it was on its way to the carrier, 3) that it was in transit, 4) directed me to contact the carrier myself (???) 5) then lost after firmly pressuring after almost a week of no updates. All of this, like I said, after sending over 10 emails and keeping tabs on it.

This felt like Meermin could not care less about me as a customer, and their attitude felt almost annoyed with my inquiries. Incredibly unprofessional.

This experience has completely changed my view of the brand. Meermin presents itself as a quality footwear company, but the customer service experience did not match that image at all. Based on this order, I would not feel comfortable buying from them again, and I would suggest you take your business elsewhere to companies such as Sebago with excellent customer service that reflect the investment.

In my opinion, Meermin needs to invest seriously in customer service, order tracking, and post-sale support. A good product is not enough when the buying experience becomes this frustrating.

The order was placed on Saturday, 05/02. That same day you asked to cancel, we explained the warehouse was closed for the weekend and the team would review the request, and a few hours later you wrote asking us not to cancel. The order was prepared and shipped via USPS on Monday, 05/04, within our regular handling window. Tracking was active and shared from that point. The status you saw, "Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item," is a standard USPS status. It means the parcel has been handed to USPS and is awaiting their first scan, which is something neither we nor any sender controls. This was explained to you at the time.

When you flagged the parcel did not progress, we asked you to contact the carrier directly, as it is generally most effective for the receiver to follow up once a parcel is in transit, while also opening an inquiry with USPS from our side. They responded on Thursday evening, 05/07, confirming that no further scans had been recorded for two days beyond the initial handover, and asked us to wait for the next update along the route — something that occasionally happens with USPS. In the meantime, following your requests, we issued a full refund.

The parcel was delivered to you yesterday, 05/08, on its original schedule. You have now received both the order and the full refund.

We take customer service seriously. Sending multiple queries in a short span of time across multiple channels, even opening a credit card chargeback while the matter is actively being handled, does not move a case forward; in practice it fragments the thread across the team and slow the whole process.

Fantastic Quality for the Price

Fantastic quality out of the box. Great looking shoe. Making belts that match color and material is also a fantastic addition. Gone are the days of trying to find belts that are similar color to your shoe. Comfortable without socks. For the price, it may be the best balance of quality vs cost. Would put it on par with similar shoes in the $500 range. Would buy again. Carrying protective bag was a nice little surprise too.
