Bought a monitor. A week later, it goes on sale. They offer a 30-day price guarantee. I just wanted my $50 back. I live 3 hours away, so a 6-hour drive to get my $50 back in person makes no... See more

They broke a hdd w sensitive data and refused to fix.
Gave them a PC, they said it needed a new psu, it came back with a dead 8tb segate barracuda drive which worked perfectly before being given to them. With new psu installed computer keeps blue screening.
Good store, sh!tty service center.
repair team lied to me
went in to get my laptop screen reconnected, as it had come off when i dropped the laptop. i told them this, and that it didnt need hardware repair i just didn't trust myself to put it back myself. they "took it to the back" and then came back and told me they actually needed to order a part to repair it, and that it would be done in a week. three weeks pass, I call them to ask whats going on, they put me on hold to pull it out of the queue and check and then tell me theyre still waiting on the part to come in. fifteen minutes later they called to say that actually, turns out the screen just needed to be reconnected so i could come pick it up. I was still charged full repair cost 💀 screw these guys
No clue Service department
I took my 2in1 laptop in to get the broken hinges repaired. A month later it was done, except the tablet function didn't work. They took it back and again after another month I discovered the touch screen in tablet mode quits working after 5 minutes. Worst service ever. They have no clue what their doing.
On 3/23 my wife went to do a return
On 3/23 my wife went to do a return , basically returning a gaming labtop that I purchased from microcenter . I have indeed purchased 4 labtops within the last 30 days , and have exchanged them either due to thermals , performance not what it was advertised or reviewed or defective unit . Last purchase was a msi Titan 18hx , when spending 5k on gaming labtop , which is a very expensive investment you have to be 100 percent about the product your buying . My biggest concern today isn’t the fact they were upset because I swapped the device , my two major concerns are one the way the General manager approached her asking her what happened ?? And his tone and his approach , he stated that he wouldn’t be able to do any more returns due his loss of money from a financial side , which we did anyways because it was within the return period , as a general manager he should have greeted her first asked what is the reason her husband keeps returning labtops , as a leader running his building where all his associates are watching him and how he offers customer service in a time where every dollar spent could be detrimental to his business survival he actually doesn’t care . I hope this review reaches as many people as possible to understand that customer service and how you are treated is very important because people now have options , and where to shop . Their listed specs don’t match what their vendors send them and that is a problem . For example the MSI titan was advertised and listed that it will run the 64 Gig ram configuration at 5600MHZ which it doesn’t not . Out the box it runs at 4000MHZ and once you manually set the timings to anything above 5200 it becomes unstable and crashes . That isn’t the consumer fault that’s their fault . Also their open box items are stated that they are open box , meaning that a customer purchased them and returned them which now is an open box which isn’t the case for their open box policy . Their open box could mean they opened the unit for repair , or faulty screen which in that case should be listed as refurbished or reconditioned . I’m already in touch with with their corporate office and will be also filing a BBB complaint against this location for how they treated my wife . This is by far the most poor service I have ever acknowledged in my entire retail career .
Bought a Microcenter pc and it was junk…
Bought a Microcenter pc and it was junk from day one. I went against my better judgement and thought it was just a few small things in windows but it just got worse and worse. The memory I bought was also bad.
Biggest piece of junk I've ever bought in my life, what a waste of 3k.
Ghosted and Ignored After you Spend $$$$
Microcenter is fine for advice when willing to spend thousands to build a system, but heaven forbid you have a problem. Their tech team is incompetent – at best. After spending more than $4,000 on a custom-build, they simply throw their hands in the air when it does not work. Beware if you need anything more than an off-the-shelf piece of equipment.
micro center is the best, because there is no competition
micro center, i went there yesterday and purchased all the components for a gaming pc.i specifically asked about included hardware, would cables be labeled, i don't want any of those led lights and can everything be from the same manufacturer. now i am sitting hours away, back at home with several thousand dollars of nothing i asked for. the fact that you can't see what you are buying until after it is paid for sucks. there was no place for me to see what was in the box they packed, out of view, that supposedly contained what i had asked for. almost none of the screws provided fit anywhere. the whole affair i was given is infested with led lights, that are required for the pc to function according to the reading material that came with. i got about 15 cables total, mostly decoy's. none of them labeled and no instructions for anything. none of the stuff is from the same manufacturer. there is no customer service that actually connects. the text line, the phone number, e-mail, and the website all contain zero assistance. sure, everyone in the store seemed polite enough, but i can't think of a time in my life i have ever been so disregarded and ignored as a paying customer.
Poor Customer Service and Communication
I heard amazing things about Micro Center, so when my computer needed a repair I was happy one was close to me. The associates both times I went in for service said very few words to any questions I had. When their answers were longer and used lots of technical terms, I essentially had to ask them to "dumb it down" for me and was met with 1 or 2 word answers. I ended up overpaying way too much to have all of my data completely gone on a 5 year old laptop, which was not made clear to me at all before I approved the purchase. I was under the impression I just needed the swollen battery to be replaced. I strongly regret going to Micro Center which is a shame because I had such high hopes. I also don't think the associate was knowledgeable as he would give very vague or broad comments such as "your 5-year-old laptop could last a day or 10 years".
This is an amazing place to visit
Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. They were incredibly educated and were able to recommend several products that would help with my new job editing videos. I can't say enough great things about this company!
Tithe Apple Tech Guy is Horrible!
I recently visited Micro Center in Rockville, Maryland, seeking Apple technician assistance for my phone. Unfortunately, my experience with Manuel Prada Rodrigues left much to be desired. He was over an hour late for our scheduled appointment and, despite this delay, didn't even take the time to inspect my phone thoroughly.
To my surprise, Rodrigues stated that the microphone issue on my model couldn't be fixed without conducting any diagnostic tests. When I requested a diagnostic test and a detailed report, he seemed disinterested and provided no apology for his tardiness.
This lack of professionalism and customer care raises concerns about the quality of service at Micro Center. A prompt and courteous approach, along with thorough diagnostics, should be fundamental for any technician, especially when dealing with customer concerns. My overall experience has left me hesitant to recommend Micro Center's service in Rockville.
Horrible customer service
Horrible customer service. Returns are a hassle. No email support, only phone or website chat (which doesn't work). I was put on hold twice, second time my place in queue was increasing instead of decreasing. Ended up having to do it by text which is ridiculous. Just about gave up and filled a dispute with my CC company.
Also, don't buy laptop batteries from here. They are junk, overheat and shut off, and they lie about having Samsung cells made in Korea - the battery had only made in China on the label.
Great store in St. Louis
I had an issue with a motherboard ram cpu bundle bought at the St Louis store. I spent hours trying get it stable. The store was fantastic providing a complete replacement of the problem components the same day that I reported the issue. The replacement build then booted up first time and is solid as a rock. Highly recommend for a great tech shopping trip and service that will exceed your expectations.
Shocked to Hear MC Has Negative Reviews
I have been a customer of Microcenter for years and have bought numerous laptops and other gear from them and have never had an issue. In fact when I learned from an online forum and computer news site that Microcenter had bad reviews - I was shocked. I feel far more secure buying my equipment from a local store with actual people with whom I can interact than buying online from sellers unknown.

As a disabled Viet Nam VET, I have limited chances to shop, your store is far from me. Shame on you
They erased all my stuff.
I brought in my computer because I could not get on-line anymore. They said they would have to wipe everything out. They then asked me if I wanted my stuff saved and I said yes. Well three days later they gave me my computer and they did not save any of my stuff. They wiped it out. I told them that I wanted them to save everything and they said that their records show I did not say that. That's not true. I was fortunate that my cloud brought some of my stuff back like my photos and some of my writing's but I lost about a year of writings. I also lost all my music but fortunately I had everything backed up on a thumb drive so I brought that back in. I did not see any compassion from them. This is serious.
I went into the Denver store just…
I went into the Denver store just browsing, had a couple small items, almost closing time... Got to talking with Corey Krimmar about all sorts of techy stuff and ended up buying a lot of stuff! Corey is a great guy, very chill and veryfriendly. Put this guy on commission, and look out. Coffee is for closers, and this guys got it.
Recovering data from a bad external dirve
I took an external drive in that went bad and wanted to see if they could recover the data. Process and services we fine. No complaints. They took the drive to do their analysis. Said it would take 2 days. They text me on the 2nd day and said the failure was mechanical and the only way to recover it was send it to Gillware (it appears they are a partner for this type of work). Cost would be $1350, up front.
I thought that was high so I got the drive back and went online. Found 300 Dollar Drives. They had better reviews for this work than Gillware. $300 and another $75 if I wanted to them to supply a new drive. Nothing up front! Once they get the drive they will let me know what they can do and give me a final quote before proceeding.
Bottom line, if you have a situation like this, don't even bother with Micro Center. Source it yourself.
So I purchased a graphics card from…
So I purchased a graphics card from microcenter it was a 3080ti. I am a heavy gamer. And the guy told me since I’m a heavy gamer I should buy the warranty from them because the cards tend to fail. I would be able to return the card. Well I’m still under warranty my card is giving issues. Not that bad but it feels like it’s slowly dying. I get the issues once in awhile. I have an older card that doesn’t give issues at all so I know it’s the card. So they tested my card for maybe less then 10 minutes and tell me there is nothing wrong with it. So if you get scammed into buying a warranty they don’t stand by you better hope something goes wrong with the part during their so called test. But I feel that the card will fully die maybe after the warranty expires. Which is really messed up. I was a big buyer from micro center and I feel like they are fully losing a customer. I am updating my parts soon and will not be getting it from them most likely after this. They pretty much got the last of my money and probably don’t care. I will be recommending people not to go to micro center because of this. I know a lot of gamers
No integrity, they will NOT honor warranties or promise to refund.
I bought an open box laptop from this company. I was careful to confirm that the 90 day warranty would be upheld, as there were scratches around the power port from the person who originally purchased the item. The power port failed six weeks after purchase, and the company promised to fix or replace it. I went in, waited in line for over an hour, then was told that they would not be honoring the warranty. I left a review describing this issue, and was contacted and promised a full refund. Then it turned into a gift card. Then it turned into a decision NOT to honor their promise to refund, or even provide a gift card- they went back to just not honoring the warranty at all. Avoid at all costs. This company wasted WEEKS of my time, and failed to honor any of their guarantees. They are not trying to keep customers, they are churning. Buy elsewhere. There's a reason why they have less than 2 stars on all the review sites! Avoid at all costs.
Really great water cooled tier 3 pc build with no issues
I just recently got a computer built from Microcenter i was looking at the water cooled tier 3 build for 250.00 and i was not to sure how i felt about doing it because of some of the negative reviews that i was reading online. I went back and forth between a few company’s for a week not being able to decided who i wanted to go with. I knew Microcenter has been around for a long time and that they have really good products and good prices but some of the pc build reviews people left made it sounds really bad and i was thinking about going somewhere else. I don’t want anyone else to go threw what i did because from start to finish i had nothing but a great experience with Microcenter. I placed my order online after picking out all my own parts, I did chat online with someone and they gave me the number to the store so i could chat with someone at the cambridge location. When i called them i talked to Sam and she went over every part i picked out and made sure it was compatible with everything and even emailed me the list of all the parts after. I took a day to think about it and submitted the order online, i got a call maybe an hour later saying he looked over all my parts and everything looked goo and that it would be done in about 48 hours. ( yes there website does say they will build it for you in 4hrs i really think they should just take that down because anyone should know thats just not going to happen no way they are staffed for that but someone at Microcenter should take that off the website) anyway next day they called me with a couple questions about how i wanted the fans set up and then that night they called me and told me it was all ready to pick up. I ran to the store they give you all the boxes that everything came in PC was packed up nice in the box and the build looked great. I did a little cable Managment because i am picky but it might have been fine for most people. Computer is working great only has been one week but everything has been great so far and i just want to leave my great time with Microcenter on here so people know its not all bad. Im not sure what some of these people really went threw or if they where expecting to much but I have nothing but good things to say about having Microcenter build my PC and i hope this helps someone else’s decision a lot easier than mine.
