Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 731 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the customer service, finding it unhelpful, difficult to reach a real person, and often providing repetitive or unhelpful information. Customers also frequently reported issues with the product itself, particularly with Windows 11 receiving strong negative feedback and updates causing significant issues, including reports of data integrity problems or system slowdowns. The website and login system were also a major source of frustration, with many finding it difficult to access accounts or reset passwords, and some even expressing concerns about the website's legitimacy. Reviewers also expressed disappointment with the overall user experience, citing a lack of flexibility, a customer-unfriendly approach, and the presence of bloatware and built-in advertising. Some people were particularly frustrated with the difficulty in getting support for paid subscriptions and the inability to install purchased software.

On May 22nd 2025

On May 22nd 2025, I upgraded to Microsoft 365 with 1TB of storage. Today (30th April 2026), Microsoft informed me that they will delete my files if I don't upgrade by 1st May (tomorrow). I still have 22 days left of my current plan. However, when I click on my account, I am told I have just 5gb (the free plan) which is incorrect. Can I call anyone? No. The number I'm given is just an automated call and totally useless. I cannot speak to a human being. As it stands, I had to upgrade 22 days earlier than I should have. Plus, there was no acknowledgement of my previous plan for which I paid. Frustrating and awful

Windows 11 is hell on earth - AVOID

Windows 11 is hell on earth. File Explorer - tiny icons that require a magnifying glass to see - AFTER having scrolled through hundreds of the wretched things. Gallery - ditto. Window 10 was easy to navigaTe; it was, manageable, user friendly and it MADE SENSE!

Microsoft - rid us of this dreadful OS and return your public to sanity - Windows 10, or similar.

Not one review on Trustpilot rates this awful OS. Should there be no improvement, I shall leave Microsoft.

NOTE:

I HAVE JUST BOUGHT AN OLDER LAPTOP WITH MICROSOFT 10, SO THERE! BACK TO SANITY AND EASE OF NAVIGATION.

Avoid most Microsoft services

Avoid most Microsoft services, such as email and other accounts. The most stupid system for user verification.
Same OneDrive. IF you want to lose data, yes, it is for you.

horibble

The most annoying, user unfriendly thing i have ever used. It kept asking me to sign in and would not let me do anything before that, ok then i try. Says my account I used for 5 years never existed. Then I try again, says it sent a verification code to my account, and i follow through with the steps. Then at the end, it Just says error. The problem is that I can't do anything, like anything microsoft related, just horrible.

Microsoft Surface Laptops Snapdragon Arm almost useless

I bought two fairly expensive, top of the line, Microsoft Surface 7 laptops with the Snapdragon Arm chipset for about $2,500 each. After over a month of trying to get them to work in my office, I found that they were completely incompatible with almost all scanners and most printers. I tried to return them after and was told no returns after 30 days. It is apparently just a lack of interest in dreating the driver software between Microsoft and the printer companies. Well, I am not that rich, and I am out $5,000 and they should not sell a high end laptop that does not work with printers or scanners.

I just lost hours of critical work…

I just lost hours of critical work because of a fatal design flaw in how OneDrive handles storage limits.
When my storage was full, Auto-Save stopped working, but it didn't force a clear warning to save a local backup. Even worse: After I immediately paid for more storage to fix the issue, the "Auto-Save" toggle stayed "ON," leading me to believe my work was being synced again.
It was a lie. The software failed to recognize the newly available space in real-time. Instead of uploading my progress, it stayed stuck in a failure state. When the session finally refreshed, the system simply pulled the old version from the cloud and overwrote my hours of new work.
Microsoft has designed a system that prioritizes cloud-syncing over local data safety. If the sync hangs, the software should warn you to save a local copy immediately. Instead, it lets you type into a void and then deletes your progress.
Pragmatic advice: Turn off Auto-Save. It is a fake safety net. Save your files locally if you value your time.

AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL

My recent experience with Microsoft has been nothing short of hell. The customer service is awful. Customer Support is AWFUL. Simple issues take forever to sort they have destroyed the quality of their products and getting a human being on the phone is pretty much impossible.

I am the sole admin of my small business and because the link to my authenticator app has broken I am locked out of most of my systems. It is damaging my business and it's almost like they don't care. The robots just hang up or say you need to raise a support ticket. The support request has had no response for coming up to 2 weeks. The privacy team has referred me back to the support request and I am still yet to speak to a human on the phone which would likely solve the issue in half an hour.

Its almost as though they want people to stop using their products.

I have recently renewed my annual…

I have recently renewed my annual subscription with microsoft. Using funds which a lot of us have not got at the moment with the current cost of living. Yet, when I try to get onto my e-mails, which I probably try to look at 3-4 a week. I get the following message. You've tried to sign in too many times with an incorrect account or password.
I know my log on and my password, and yet I cannot check my e-mails. Some of which are important to me.

HORRIBLE

HORRIBLE. Bought Forza horizon 5 for 100 dollars and have been locked out of the game due to Microsoft account issue. Makes you go through a whole process of linking devices and account and it's a load of BS. Bad customer service and not helpful at all.
