Customer support rating was the lowest in the industry
I am now told Miele will finally agree to replace my defective refrigerator but with only the warranty left from the original one even though it now appears, based on several of thier own technicians, the unit was defective from the factory. Not to mention the warranty has been clicking away as Miele took 4 months to correct even up to today as we are still waiting on a resolution while also using a newly purchased frig in our garage. The worst thing about this experience, besides purchasing and using a fridge in a cold garage all winter, was the hours and days spent with their customer support team not knowing warranty specifics and having to educate them on their own product and warranty each time I called for support follow-up. I am retiring the end of this year at 70 years old and purchased both thier high end frig and dishwasher thinking I would be good to go into retirement with at least 10 years and hopefully 20 without problems/cost. Here now, barely made two years with both failing and challenges with Miele honoring their warranties and I didn’t even retire yet. This is just unacceptable.I knew their customer support rating was the lowest in the industry but took the gamble that it would not be needed. A gamble I lost twice.
The fridge was bad out of the factory and the replacement should have the warranty of a new unit, if at least nothing more than for customer satisfaction due to the cost of purchasing a fridge to use while dealing with them over the last 4 months and the aggravation they caused. If Miele truly has confidence in their products, which it appears Miele doesn’t because if they did they would feel a full new frig warranty on the replacement would be a non-issue since it will most likely never be used costing Miele nothing.
Purchased a vacuum directly from Miele
Purchased a vacuum directly from Miele. When opened the package we immediately realized it did not have a beater brush and tried to return it without using it.
Customer service informed us that they do not accept returns per their terms and conditions. The terms and conditions are hidden at the very bottom of their web page in small font under something called "GTC". We convinced them to take it back, with the following:
We pay shipping to a third party warehouse in Ill. ($100)
The package cannot have been opened, we explained that we opened it and that is when we realized the issue.
The warehouse determines how much it will cost us to return it only after they receive it.
We could have purchased this from Amazon prime or Lowes with zero risk and no cost to return, they both have satisfaction guarantees
We do have two Miele dishwashers which work fine... however, with this customer service experience we will never again make a purchase from Miele.
We have a microwave that failed twice…
We have a microwave that failed twice in 14 months. The technicians comes out and says it should be under warranty. 6 weeks later they fix the microwave. 2 weeks after the repair, we receive a bill for $600. We have rung Miele 4 times questioning the invoice. The lack of empathy or respect from the Miele employee over the phone is disgraceful. We asked to speak to someone in management and was told if we didn't pay it would go to debt collectors.
DONT EVER BUY A MIELE PRODUCT
Bought the top-of-the-line Miele washer…
Bought the top-of-the-line Miele washer and dryer for about $7,000 along with the pedestals for another $1,000. They advertised about $400 in rebates with the machine package but not including the pedestals. When we received the machines (more than two weeks after promised) we noticed the pedestals were damaged to the point that they were unusable. We returned the pedestals to Lowes for replacements but every single Miele pedestal in their inventory were similarly damaged. As for the machines, they are not much more useful than as boat anchors. The cheap plastic doors at the bottom of the machines came broken and the washer's spin cycle is a crap shoot whether it will engage or not. We bought the machines in July 2023 and after repeated attempts to get service we finally had a tech arrive near the end of April 2024. Miele refuses to honor their warranty stating that we took too long to report the problem. No, they simply refused to provide a service tech in a reasonable time. I expect this type of treatment from government and mafia but will not accept this from a consumer manufacturer. I am in Florida and will be contacting a consumer rights attorney to discuss my case. Anybody else in Florida that wishes to join in on our case please email floridamiele at gmail.com.
UPDATE: After trying to explain to me that the Meile support department had not received this issue until far into the warranty period ... I explained to Miele Support what a warranty is. They agreed to send out U.S. Appliances to fix the issues. We were scheduled for between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on Friday May 17, 2024. On the specified Friday May 17, 2024 I received a text that we were scheduled for between 12 and 4:00 PM. At 5:15PM I texted asking for ETA to which I received that they would no longer be able to make the date and U.S. Appliance would call again to schedule another date. Bird of a feather I guess.
Do not purchase Miele.
Our Miele washing machine draw face snapped off. Was expecting a replacement for this part however I was told it would cost $300 for parts and another $200-$300 in call out fee! I can buy a new machine for that. Service was arrogant and didn't want to help. Never buying Miele again.
Defective brand new vacuum
L received my new vacuum last night and the on/off button is defective. When plugged in the vacuum turns on and the button does not depress to turn off. I called the support departmennt this morning and they stated I had to take to a repair store one and a half hours away from my home. They would not allow a return or replacement and this long drive is not something I can do at 72 years old as I wait for cataract surgery so I can drive again. They would not offer any other solution. Terrible customer service and did not stand behind their product.
I wish I could give a negative score
I wish I could give a negative score. I ordered 2 dishwashers at the same time to be installed. One of them was delivered with a large dent in the side. The box was in perfect condition. My contractors didn't open the box until we were preparing to install - and we found the dent. After 4 months of back and forth with Miele they finally got me to someone at customer service who was a complete a-hole. He told me I was responsible for the damage because it was not covered by the warranty and cosmetic damage has to be reported within 60 days. Now we are stuck with a brand-new damaged machine. It is super disappointing because I've had Miele appliances in the past and loved them.

Steer clear of this company and the appliances that come with it. The washers and dryers are overpriced and always need something. I would never buy one of these… we unfortunately inherited the appliances.
It’s also always frustrating when you need something especially if you are outside their zone.
Just buy a GE or LG appliance.. these are unnecessary and so small!
Meant to break: ventilation hood
We bought this ventilation hood for our home kitchen from Abt in March of 2019 and by April 2022, the motor died. Before then, it was making noises that indicated something was wrong and it continued to sound worse. We do clean the filter. Yang, a certified Miele tech, came out to diagnose the hood and confirmed that the motor died, could not be fixed, and had to be replaced. The vent was already past warranty by one year. That was a $150 appt on 3/22/22 just for looking at it. The motor arrived and was replaced by Yang on 4/12/22, and was written up as $978.29, including travel fee, working time, and traveling time, but he was merciful and offered a large goodwill discount. We kept the old motor but Yang had told us it would be nearly impossible for anyone to fix.
In February 2024, the hood started making its tired, strained noises again. Mind you, this is less than two years after having the first motor replaced. And a hood's one basic component is the motor. I called Miele about honoring the warranty but they said that it was still out of warranty because the hood was bought in 2019. So, even though the motor, the functioning unit, was less than two years old and installed by Miele, they would not honor the warranty. I had to schedule another $150 appt for 4/3/24 with Sanjay to tell me what I already knew: that the motor was dead. Sanjay did diagnose also that it was likely jammed by another part of the hood and maybe the design was bad. He suggested buying a whole new unit rather than a new motor because it's likely the motors will keep getting jammed and stop working. That would be another $1199 plus the recommended $900 10-year warranty. "Then we can keep coming out here at no cost to you." Yes, for the price of a few ventilation hoods.
We chose this brand in 2019 over others who make compact hoods because we've heard Miele has excellent quality. But that's not the case here. Beware! Miele builds products to break in a little over the warranty's time.
I purchased a Miele CM6360 about two…
I purchased a Miele CM6360 about two years ago along with a 5 year warranty. I’ve been very happy with it, until a year after the brew unit got clogged and was replaced. About a year later, while making a second cup of coffee on a Sunday I got a brew unit error message. I removed it and noticed that the rubber seal was broken. I called to have it serviced, waited 10 days until technician Pablo Bautista came for a visit that lasted less than five minutes. I explained the problem and he accused me of breaking the rubber seal while cleaning the unit and that this was not covered by the warranty. He told me that I will have to pay for it. I advised him to take it back and to just charge me for the visit and travel time. He refused to do so and left abruptly to find out later that the lied on his report saying that I refused to pay for it and I received a copy of the bill for $215.55. His way of handling his visit was totally out of touch and class and he is misrepresenting a company with such a high reputation like Miele. Thank God for technology that the whole conversation was recorded and videotaped, if needed.

I installed 30" M touch double wall ovens HP6780BP2
in Nov/22. I use them frequently. I found a rubber piece sitting in the bottom of my top oven last week and had the Miele technician come out. He couldn't figure out where this piece came from. But in looking he removed the glass from the door and a corner cracked. Miele says this is soley my cost to repair which is ridiculous because the service call was because of them in the first place. Stay away from MIELE
Not what it used to be
I had a Miele vacuum for 20 years and it was incredible. I replaced it 6 years ago with a C3 Homecare+ model that has not lived up to its predecessor. I've had to take it to the shop twice for repairs....in 6 years. It's not worth the $1600 I paid.
Miele TRIFLEX HX1 PRO
Miele TRIFLEX HX1 PRO
This is a genuinely terrible vacuum cleaner. Working with the two batteries it comes with is a big hassle because you have to switch batteries and plug and unplug them to reset the battery; otherwise, they don't work at all. Also, they won't work for long. The dirt cup is tiny, and most of the time, you can't just shake the dirt out; you have to manually pull stuff out of the cup. I purchased directly from Miele, and when I tried to return it, I was told you have only 30 days to return it. Such a bad service for such a high-priced and lousy vacuum!
Don't buy a Miele refrigerator.
We purchased a new Miele refrigerator (KFN1594DE) after our research indicated it was top of the line. One month, one week and three service calls later, we are hard pressed to consider this top of the line. Miele has virtually no customer service. The representatives were not helpful beyond their canned scripts. Each service call had about a two week wait. The first service call couldn't replicate the problem and recommended we record the problem (the ice maker was making a noise) and send it to service. All service could do was give us an appointment for two weeks later. The second service technician who came knew nothing of the recording. He determined that ice was blocking the ice maker and using our hair dryer melted the offending piece of ice. He listened to our recording and said the loud noise we were hearing was normal and it was just the ice maker working. He could have replaced the ice maker since he had a replacement with him; however, he said if the ice maker makes the noise again we should call service again and they will replace the ice maker. He did not fix anything. That same day, the ice maker alarm kept going off. We shut off the alarm, but it kept on going off. We turned off the ice maker to finally shut the alarm off. In desperation we went to a Miele showroom and explained the situation to them. They were able to get through to someone who could help. After another two week wait for service, the ice maker was finally replaced. It is now quiet, as it should be. Additionally, the refrigerator doors have a soft close feature which does not engage unless the door is physically closed. Miele engineers obviously never spent time in a kitchen as all refrigerators we've owned closed with a simple flick of the wrist.
A Cup of Coffee Not Worth of Trouble - Miele Buyer’s Remorse
I recently bought and installed a latest Miele coffee machine, CVA-7840, just about two months old. It makes nice coffees. But, the good stops here. It is poor in quality, especially considering its price tag (at almost $6,000) and extremely high-maintenance. But the worst part is Miele’s customer support. Let me explain.
The machine is extremely high-maintenance - and this is the least painful part of the experience.
The machine keeps rinsing itself, every time you turn it on or shut it off. And, you cannot adjust how often it does it. The machine would turn itself off automatically after about 5 mins if you don’t make another cup and it will rinse. If you turn it back on right after, it will rinse again. I estimate that it uses at least 2/3 of the water in the tank rinsing and less than 1/3 making coffee. You have to keep adding fresh water and dumping the waste water all the time.
That’s not enough. The machine has internal timers that will force you to perform major cleaning or descaling of different parts of the machine, every month or two for each part. The entire machine will stop functioning if you don’t, no matter which part needs cleaning. You need 4 or 5 different types of chemicals or cleaning agents and Miele is the only place you can buy them from. They are not cheap either, unlike dishwasher soaps from your local store.
And, don’t press the cancel button. If you do -perhaps changing your mind right after a selection - the machine will continue to dispense and grind the coffee and dump it promptly. It will not use it for your next cup of coffee.
Now, the worse - poor quality.
The machine was installed at the beginning of this year. From the start, the milk dispensing did not work. After days of contacting Miele, a local contractor showed up and he tried everything to no avail, until he disassembled the back-panel and found the problem. Two thin copper plates to connect the sensor circuit were not engaged and did not make the contact. The circuit never closes and milk container signal not sent. This is a simple step that was apparently missed in the final assembly of the machine and still passed the testing, if there’s one.
As I just said, the machine performs mandatory cleaning on different parts on timers. After a little over a month of use, it decided to clean the milk pipework (with a special agent). However, it never completes the cleaning and goes right back to the beginning of the cycle and ask you to start again. It happens everytime when it reaches to the last 2 mins of the 11-min cycle. The worst part is that this cleaning operation overwhelms the entire operation and stops everything else. The machine is in this deadlock loop and you cannot get rid of the menu or do anything else, not even getting to the main menu or setup. The machine is practically dead.
The worst - Miele customer service.
I called Miele customer services and talked to multiple agents. They talk to you from their given, standardized manuscripts. After much struggle they scheduled a service calls from their Miele-certified local contractor and it would take two weeks before the contractor could come in. The first contracted service technician showed up and declared he does not service Miele coffee machines. In fact, he never saw a Miele coffee machine nor did he had any training. (You wonder why he took the service call in the first place?)
I called Miele again and they “escalated” the call with a promise that the next service technician would be a Miele technician, a Miele employee not a contractor. Days later, they called back to inform me that there’s no Miele’s own technicians in the Washington Metropolitan area and that they had to schedule another contractor. It would take another two weeks. I am still waiting.
All in while, the $6,000 Miele coffee machine is in a coma and I cannot use it at all. I pulled my near-10 years old Keurig coffee maker (cost me something like $50-100) back out, which I’ve used at least 3 times a day and never cleaned, to sustain my daily coffee craving!
For those of you who are thinking about these expensive Miele machines, be aware. Hope my experience provides you at least one data point of warning and caution.
Worst robot vacuum on the market
Purchased a scout RX3 robot vac. This is the worst robot vac on the market. Little did I know it will not map the house in a way where I can send it to a certain area to clean. I was told prior to purchasing it I could to this. Also, when the battery is depleted it will not return to the base to recharge. I have to take it there and put it back on the base to recharge. Really! Miele customer service told me it is not programmed to do this. They also will not accept a return after it’s been used. No where on their website, or receipt does it tell you this. Had I known I would’ve never purchased it. Customer non-service is useless. They read off a script and don’t listen to the customer. This product should be taken off the market. Who makes a robot vacuum that you have to take back to the base for charging. What’s the point.
Very disappointed long-time Miele user
I have a 22-year old home with two Miele dishwashers, washer/dryer and coffee machine. Finally the washer went out. I had to replace both W/D because the washer was no longer able to open the other direction so they were in the wrong places. I had to get rid of a still very good dryer. BUT, I thought it would be nice to get a new pair with new features. Dishwashers still going strong. Coffee systems are another story, but I wasn't counting on them lasting forever. The first coffee system lasted about 7 years and the second lasted 14 years. We just got the third and it is on year 3 so far. In the old days, they had great phone tech support who helped me through lots of challenges so I have had few service calls. One call between two dishwashers that are over 22 years old isn't bad. But now, the customer service knows less than I do. You have to get an expensive service call to handle things that someone skilled on the phone could help you get through. So - I agree with all other reviews, the customer service is worse than any other appliance company out there now. I also want to warn everyone about the new heat pump dryer. It is the worst dryer ever. We have an old speed queen, basic model at our lake house and that is a better dryer. All the new bells and whistles and options serve no purpose. Clothes are less soft, more wrinkled and most of the time still damp. The cycles take literally hours. The old Miele dryer was the best and now this new one is the worst. I could get a wash/dry on rapid cycle done in just over an hour. High quality wash and smooth, soft, not wrinkled, dried clothes. I will never again buy another Miele appliance and appreciate the warnings on the dishwashers. As I have two units that at some point will need to be replaced, I will go with another brand when that time comes. Executives at Miele - pay attention to these comments. You had a good product and good service for the high end of the market. I for one was willing to pay more to get great phone support and 22 plus years of quality performance out of the appliance. Now you have junk on both accounts. For that, we could pay a lot, lot less.
Isulent and incompetent customer service.
I have called customer service a few times in my years as a custom millwork draftsman. My experience is that they are among the worst I have experienced. Between the incomplete product specification library and the insulent customer service I would avoid at all costs.
I called Miele USA yesterday regarding…
I called Miele USA yesterday regarding recycling the Miele Power Disk All in 1 dishwasher detergent to see if I could recycle the empty disk. It is only for one use and then it goes to landfill. Miele makes the disks from recycled plastic to help the environment but then it goes to the landfill. When I bought the dishwasher I thought the Power disks were recycleable so I purchased the dishwasher. I asked them if they had a program where I could send them the empty disks so they could reuse or recycle them and they do not. So buyer beware. I am not sure Miele is entirely eco friendly.
