If God wants to punish you he makes you Millennium bcp client. I am such a client for
almost eight years full of extremely bad experience. Call center is useless, demanding visit a branch in person as "phone conversation is not secured". I am not Portuguese citizen neither live in Portugal. So they want me to travel every time to resolve simple issue and not for sure. Wire transfer which normally takes hours or even minutes in this bank takes weeks ot more. It is called microfinancial financial institution. Really it is micro, invisible and untouchable. Waste of time, money and nerves.

Really mediocre bank

Really mediocre bank. Have been trying to withdraw money in their MTM (the ATM version of the bank) for over a week and simply doesn't work. I've visited four different branches on a daily basis and there is always some issue. Sometimes the system freezes and I get a blank screen, other times there is no money available to withdraw, sometimes it's "system is under maintenance", etc...every day a different issue. Pretty ridiculous. With fintech's offering more products, banks like Millenium Will eventually cease to exist due to the poor quality of their service.

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with MillenniumBcp Bank's phone service. Last night, I spent hours trying to resolve an issue with my MB account, and despite my efforts, the problem remained unsolved. This morning, I called their support line again, hoping for a quick resolution. Instead, I have been on hold for over 30 minutes and counting.

The service is incredibly bad, and the long wait times are unacceptable. It's clear that they do not value their customers' time or provide adequate support. Avoid MillenniumBcp Bank's phone service if you can. I am a customer for the last 24 years but I am extremely disappointed and will be looking for a more reliable bank.

I am trying to contact my local bank…

I am trying to contact my local bank urgently to get the IBAN number for an international transfer with no success. When I call my Prestige account manager I get a scratchy recorded message in Spanish (go figure) that I have difficulty understanding. I now wish I had read all the reviews for Millennium in Portugal before opening an account with them.

How not to treat clients.

Good afternoon.
I needed to withdraw an amount of money, much higher than the ATM disposes, so I had to get it personnally at the bank. When my number was called, the staff at the cashier told me very rudely that the system was down. All his collegues were assisting people and calling new numbers, so there was obviously no system failure.
It happened on the 21st of May 2024 in Porto, at the D. João I bank.

Needed to withdraw about $600 and the bank's own machine in the lobby was not working. Waited in line for 20 minutes to work through on-site employee. The employee got the number wrong (miscommunication) and withdrew $6,000 which then had to be redeposited. Bank charged me a $6 fee to do this even though it was due to their machine being broken. They charge $15 per month to bank with them and most significant activities have to go through Prestige manager who is overwhelmed and not incredibly responsive. Most Portuguese banks charge a fee.

Transferring money internationally

I bought a apartment in Algarve, the funds were transferred from my account in the UK. I sold the apartment recently and trying to get the money transferred back to the same account in the UK. After many calls and emails to increase my limit, I was told that I have to go to my branch in Gare de Oriente to request the transfer. As I live in South Africa, at great expense, I went to the bank and signed the request. I was told in 72 hrs I should have the money. Its now been 3 weeks and no action. Been to two other branches to help but no-one can help me. Wrote emails but no response. Call centre cannot help etc. I cannot believe such bad service exists in Portugal, they have no idea what customer service is. As a Portuguese speaking national, I am embarrassed by the reflection this bank gives Portugal as a foreign friendly destination. They just don't care about the problems they create.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY DO NOT CARE!!!!

I am so angry and upset as they have suspended my account as they haven't received some verification information. But their online banking system keeps timing me out before I can submit all the information.!!!!!! I have tried to submit this about 10 times.

They are useless! I have written MANY emails to my Millennium BCP Vilamoura portuguese branch and tried to call MANY times to discuss with matter but they just IGNORE ALL CONTACT.

Avoid this terrible bank.

This is THEFT! Disgraceful customer service

We have logged a few complaints about our transfers that we made INTO our Millennium PT account from our Spanish Bankinter account. We had made many transfers before with no problems, but in January two of our transfers never reached our Millennium account, went missing for 8 (!!!) days both times and were returned to the Spanish bank with no explanation. Nobody cares, the transfer dept at Millennium axknowledged that it is the fault of Millennium, but they cannot tell us whose fault this is, why this started to happen, and what exactly are they doing to resolve it. We are closing our Spanish account and have made the final transfer of the balance to Millennium. Gues what, it is now also missing, 24 Thousand Euros, and Nobody at Millennium knows why this bank is rejecting my own payments!! The Transfer Dept is not talking to the branch or to cistomer service, nobody calls me with updates, they don't want client's money, so ehy should we stay with this USELESS bank?

Now allegedly a "higher manager has been asked to deal with this", but nobody can tell me her name, and in spite of numerous requests to contact me , she is not even responding to their own contacts department.

THIS BANK IS A JOKE!

The most unimaginably bad banking…

The most unimaginably bad banking experience. I paid for the premium prestige bank account, their top tier service. Every task I needed to get done had to be done at the branch. I had to book an appointment and still wait for 30 minutes every time I went there. Roughly half the time I went to do something, after waiting, I was told their system was down. This was at the Millenium branch in Estoril.

My assigned premium bank manager would only respond to emails after 2-3 follow up's asking the same question again and again.

I closed my account after 5 months and move to a new bank (Activo) that had no extra hidden charges, and provided a 10x better service. 7 months after closing my account Millenium sent me a bill with a list of charges that do not appear valid and say I have to pay them. I can't believe I have to go into their branch, again, wait for a long time, just to fight these charges. They rely on it not being worth people's time to fight these extra charges...It's not worth my time at all, but on principle alone, I will fight them. They are not operating an honest business. I feel like I get far far worse treatment because I am not Portuguese.

Disgrace to the Banking World

I have had an account with Millenium BCP for over 15 years and had a positive experience with Mortgage, Bill paying, Moving money from and to the Uk and Portugal etc.
Having sold my property there, I did not need the account anymore, that's when everything changed.
It is impossible to close the account down. No one is available to help you, despite selling themselves as an International Digital Financial Institution, there is no way you can close down digitally. It will cost me around £150 for my wife and I to travel to London just to close their account. Absolute disgrace.

If there was a negative scale I would give them -100. This bank is run by a bunch of moron with no understanding of customer service. They promise services like account manager with Prestige account and never deliver. You close a bank account and then they send you a bill for the account closure fees that could have been taken at the time of closure. Avoid them like the plague

Impossible to deal with.

Impossible to deal with.
I am an English speaking foreigner who has banked with Millenniums Prestige branch in Guarda for 5 years.
For reasons which have never been explained to me, my account was transferred to Porto early in 2023 and i was allocated a personal banker in Porto.
This person is a)impossible to reach, b)rarely responds to communications and c)when she does respond, she doesnt address the questions/issues.
It is impossible to find an alternate person or number in order to escalate the matters.
Reverting to my original personal banker in Guarda, i am told that there is nothing they can do and they are not allowed to assist as i am no longer their client.
Have been trying to reach all other known contacts in Millennium for about 2 months now, including the supposed customer care email, but no reply to 3 emails sent. No one replies to messages, whatsapps, emails.
Deepy disappointing

I ordered money

I ordered money. I had to wait for more than an hour despite being in possession of the Ticket L001! Reason, favoritism. Customers who came later, but knowing the managers at the balcony had the priority !!

4% Charges on any transfer outside of the bank network

The only bank that charges 4% on top of any transfer to another bank, in addition to standard transfer fees in the app (something unique to Portugal). So for a 10euro transfer to another bank you pay 1,10 fees+ 0.4 as the 4%. That's 15%! I so regret placing money there. This is information over the phone with their operator, so now my money is stuck there.
