The worst bank ever No idea how…

The worst bank ever No idea how this bank still functions. Nothing works. The app is useless with more codes than anyone can remember and resetting them is impossible. the premium relationship manager you pay for never responds. Avoid at all cost

Millennium bcp is not a good bank

Millennium bcp is not a good bank. They promise a lot to expats overseas but when we get to Portugal they are terrible! They promise free credit and debit cards. I have not received any credit cards! They promise a dedicated bank manager but she is never available! I had fraud on my debit card and I called and wrote and she didn’t respond until I wrote everyone I could find and my lawyers! When they wanted to push insurance so they could get more money from me, she called every day! When I need anything, she is NEVER available!!!! Millennium charges a monthly fee no matter how much money you have in your account! They charge for money sent from America! They charge for transfers domestic or international! It is my damn money and they put a limit so that they MUST handle the domestic transfer so they can charge me more money! Expats, find a different bank! This is a ripoff bank! There are no benefits to keeping a large amount of money in your account with them! Ripoff!

I have been trying to activate my…

I have been trying to activate my account for the last 1.5 months. I have supplied all information to my banker but I have had no replies to emails and phone calls. Very disappointing experience from a bank that I was expecting so much from, being the biggest Private Bank in Portugal. I understand when there are delays, but there is no excuse for not keeping your client informed and helping them.

Absolute worst piece of s* bank

Absolute worst piece of s* bank I have ever dealt with.

- No email service, have to "go to the branch" even if you are hundred miles away
- Slow and rude service
- Long phone queues and random disconnects
- Web site features look like they were made 1997
- Trying to call in to block a card and the phone automated voice speaks at 2x speed and cuts off before presenting the digit for English.
- They also try to scam you when you want to exit the bank. Keep sending bills and refuse to close the account.

I was close to paying a fine lawyer just to go after them after being treated this way.

Go with Novo Banco or Santander for better service.

Beware!!!

Beware!!!! This bank is fraud and un safe to keep money and use the financial service
I had very negative experience with Millennium bank, two days before they third party took money from my account seven times with some unknow person and service I never used. I totally un aware about all these transactions and next day i wake up and check my account so there was nothing left in my account and all money taken, When i tried to reprot it and speaking over the phone with one of the rude agent, first he asking me unnecessary question and put me on long hold over the phone, after he jumped into conclusion and blocked my account , online banking, debit card without letting me know, and left me with no money which was very stupid and i took day off from my job and browing money with my manger for food and put fuel in my car and visited to the branch to active my account, all my money was blocked, I tried to contacted bank several time and some again stupid agent asked to to transfer other person to other person with out any solutions , now i asked to wait for next 14 days to answer the claim . In this situation i am feeling very afraid and us safe to trust such banks , how they manipulate my money and taken by some one other from my account without any verification or my permission, customer service is very phatic , they don't allow me to speak or listen to me, they hang up calls and laughing , very un professional , dis respectful agents

DO NOT USE MILLENNIUM IF YOU LOOK FOR A GOOD BANKING EXPERIENCE

Earlier this year I signed a banking relationship with Millennium in Lisbon. I was recommended by Millennium that I should set up a Prestige Account so I had a "point of contact", a "personal banker" to address any banking matters. I was only interested in establishing basic banking affairs with Millennium.

The relationship with Millennium thus far has been frustrating and expensive. It is by far the poorest banking experience of many financial institutions I have dealt with.

They do NOT respond to e mails
They do NOT ever call you
They do NOT follow up on in person meetings
They do NOT address issues
They do NOT find solutions
They do NOT generate results
They do NOT take any responsibility or care

They DO take your money
They DO charge astronomical transfer fees and have outrageous FX charges
They DO have poor communication ethics
They DO do things exceptionally slowly, expect to wait months
They DO get things wrong
They DO smile and tell you not to worry

No início deste ano assinei uma relação bancária com o Millennium em Lisboa. Fui recomendado pelo Millennium para abrir uma Conta Prestige para ter um "ponto de contacto", um "banqueiro pessoal" para tratar de qualquer assunto bancário. Eu só estava interessado em estabelecer negócios bancários básicos com o Millennium.

O relacionamento com a Millennium até agora tem sido frustrante e caro. É de longe a pior experiência bancária de muitas instituições financeiras com as quais lidei.

Totally useless to the extent I have…

Totally useless to the extent I have now given up with them, for 3 months I’ve been asking them to close the wrongly opened business account as it was supposed to be an LDA company account, they finally tried to upgrade it but then come back With an excuse to do with my visa application when I don’t have to have one to own a business here, they just keep adding fees and now over €575 and rising, I’ll wait for them to contact me seeing as they won’t return my emails and I only had one previously from my branch as I rated them 1star personally on here!

I do feel that most banks in Portugal…

I do feel that most banks in Portugal operate very similar but this bank seems to have some very bizarre ways of operating. The SMS code to authorize transactions is crazy, if you ever need to change your phone number and are not in the country, then God help you. They have virtually no customer service and unlike most of the modern world they want to go to branch rather than use apps and Internet to bank, its crazy !

Worst bank i've dealt in my life so far

Worst bank i've dealt in my life so far

I had an account in the Tavira branch, closing it is impossible
I requested the closure almost 2 months ago and the account is still open and they keep debiting me the fees without me using it at all

The customer service will tell you that they will call you back but they will not and rest assured the branch will never pick up your call to clarify their insane behaviour

Stay very far from this bank of criminal

Millennium have the worst customer…

Millennium have the worst customer service, and are very difficult to deal with.

I am now living abroad in Spain, I had to keep my account open to complete payment of bills in Portugal. Now that I need to close the account it is impossible. Funnily enough, it is not impossible for them to keep charging me each month for a regular account...

Customer service says that closing an account must be done in person, or by calling a branch - problem is, nobody in their branches answers the phones or responds to emails.

I was speaking today to a customer service agent and she hung up on me, whilst I was explaining the situation.

I have tried again (this has been going on for months) to contact the branch - nobody EVER answers the phone at them.

Why can't they just get up to date like every other bank and let us use the app to manage our accounts completely?

This is the only bank I have ever had to pay a monthly fee for a regular account, and it is also the one with the worst customer service.

Always had great service from Millennium

Reading all these poor reviews really surprises me. We initially opened our Millennium account in Estoril and then moved to a branch in Lisbon centre. We have always had great service and friendly service from the staff and no problems with our account. It is true that sometimes you can wait a while to be served in the branch. They recently arranged a mortgage for a new property with competitive rates versus other banks. Their app works well and they seem to be constantly adding features to it. We pay Eur8 a month for our account but that is in line with what we pay for a similar account in South Africa so it felt pretty reasonable to us. Personally I just don't get the hate?

The worst service in Quarteira…

The worst service in Quarteira branch.After waiting for 1 hour or more,they don't let you talk ,because they are busy talking about other things between themselves !Ignorant and arrogant specially JORGE DIOGO!The most unpleasant person ,looks very nervous even through the fake smile!Keep making mistakes ,to make people come back and wait more hours...
They put people ,who came to open the bank account and those who need to borrow money from them as a PRIORITY!!!So those who already are clients have to wait hours!I have got a ticket and after waiting 40 minutes I see other people coming in,getting the ticket to open bank account and they call them immediately like if they were disabled!!!so the fact that i have been a client of this bank for 15 years doesn't mean anything!!!What a bank!What a service and so SLOW!!!SO UNBELIEVABLY SLOW!WHAT A SHAME!!!

This bank is terrible

This bank is terrible. First, my customer service representative (for a so-called "Prestige" account) ignored several e-mails from me... until I said I would go to her supervisors.

Then, the e-mails in question, those written using the bank's internal e-mail system... they magically disappeared.

I pay about 18 euros a month to be ignored and have to spend hours trying to get things done myself... HORRIBLE BANK.

Absolutely the WORST bank I have ever worked with. They are non-responsive to English language customers calling for support. I have repeatedly attempted to change my SMS phone number over the past week and EVERY TIME they put me on hold for 45 to 60 minutes (before I hang up) while they contact their security people to confirm my identity.

It is impossible to perform mobile banking with Millennium BCP without an SMS code. And, they have a stupid 7-digit multi-code that needs to be used at both ATMs and with mobile banking.

Finally, they really just don't care about you when you visit the storefront. I have visit a Millennium storefront in Lisbon and two other cities... and each time you wait between 30-60 minutes before you can see a customer rep.

Because of pandemia I could not go to portugal,my credit card and debit card dates expired ,wrote several emails and made lots of calls to customer relations dept.nobody help and answered me..
I just wnated them to send my new cards to me or deliver them to someone I choose

GO AWAY!!!

Bad experience from first day

Problems with their system to open account at the office, after waiting the full queue, had to return another day
At second day account opened (they wanted to charge the higher commissions possible being possible to choose better option, 1st warning about them) but can´t got the debit card as the system, away, halted
Card ordered by the app, asked about it 2 weeks later as I had no news, no reply from them, 1 month after I wrote to ask about what happens with the card, and they said they just sent and I should have it, if I want new want I have to pay more commissions.

Never received it, they didn´t solve anything

Very bad customer support

In Portugal, you can find for example open bank DOT pt FREE as alternative

This is a second review based on a second bad experience
Having sold my property in the Algarve and paid all my capita gains tax. I wanted to return my money to the UK from where it originally came in year 2000
for weeks I tried do-ing it on line using their transfer s
Each time I tied to fill out the dialogue box there was problem such as payee name or
wrong digit in the IBAN number. Admittedly it would be my typing errors as I am visually impaired and diagnosed with Parkinson's.
Today Thursday 01/12/2022 I persevered and with patience I filled out al the box correctly and pressed SENND.
Bingo against all odds my money was finally going home. THEN up came a box saying unable to send this amount telephone telephone this number xxxx which Iid each time I tried it, just said wrong number
Next I went to Google for London office and tried that number and it just ksept ringing un answered
The only option I nave
now seems to have is to fly to Portugal stay in a hotel and go into the local branch and then what? This going to cost me,
2 Return flight for my wife and I
2 lots of taxi fadeout and return
2 night in a hotel
Meals and drinks for 2 days stay

IF there is any on thinking of buying a property in Portugal to retire Forget it. The red tape and incompetence is just not worth it
There are people living out there who advertise their services in the local press to get around the red tape but they ae expensive and takes a lot of time and stress

I dont know where to start from but…

I dont know where to start from but this bank is horrible. They blocked a fund i received for 2 months saying that it’s under investigation and didnt answer my calls or mails all that period. Finally they say that the money is sent back and I have to close the account. Till today neither the money is sent back nor the account is closed. And of course they still dont answer.

Regarding the call center it’s a nightmare. After long waiting all they say we will send an email to your branch to contact you. And when you call the second day they say the same.

It’s my worst banking experience
