Fault 2017 Mini Cooper

I have been called back twice for the same fault on my 2017 mini. Replacing the exhaust gas recirculation cooler as it was faulty. No offer of a replacement car even though they need the car for the best part of the day.

Poor customer service

Bought an approved used Mini 3 months ago. Fault started occurring. My local Mini refused to deal with it even though it was under warranty. After speaking with customer services, another Mini garage took it in. Recovery of my Mini and arranging hire car wasn’t a smooth process. After day 9 they said it was fixed. Went to collect it and the fault was still occurring. They had the car for another 3 days. Couldn’t figure out where the fault was coming from as it was no longer presenting. So apparently that means it’s fixed and I can collect it… rang customer services and dealt with the worst customer service call handler, which I gave up with in the end. Now left with a car I feel unsafe to drive in.

Mini Next is a deception

I bought used approved Mini 2014 two month ago. It passed alsost 100 technical checks(according to manager words) and quality was guaranteed. After two weeks of using, I noticed some sound from the steering rack. I contacted dealer, and they confirmed that there is an issue. Dealer contacted Mini Next, but they refused to repair it using guarantee, since it is not covered by guarantee. I don't understand then, what is covered and how was checks hold in dealer

Never buy one again

Never buy one again. Leather on driving seat frayed & worn within 6 months from new but told it’s “wear & tear “! Mini uk incompetent in giving an answer after 8 calls & NEVER getting back to me. In the end the dealer made the decision & that was like getting blood out of a stone, embarrassment for all I think & you know what it’s just cheap leather! That’s the reason. Please avoid BMW it’s the Primark of cars just pretending to be premium

Id be very happy if not 4 the dumb bluetooth/radio/dash device

Id be very happy with my 2019, 3 door hardtop mini w/3 cylinder turbo engine if a child hadn't designed the blue tooth radio console device, another child hadn't approve it and a 3rd child hand't said let's put run flat tires on it. I bought it used in 2023 with 25K miles on it, no dents, dings or accidents. The Pros: decent gas milage with plenty of pep in the city and highway, tight steering, breaking and overall handling. I'm only 5'-8" so it fits me perfect but I've had 6'-4" tall passengers who were comfortable too. Heat and AC work well as does the double moon roof. Heated seats, power windows, mirrors, wiper controls and cruise control are all well thought out and function well as do the interior lights. It's basically a 2 seater, don't expect it to be roomy for 4 adults or you're a fool. It works well as a 2 seater for me, I often have the rear seats down so I can get groceries and luggage and other things in the back. All of these things are at least average if not above and well above average. It's quick sporty and fun to drive especially in the warmer sunnier months. The Cons: the radio/blue tooth/console device is far below average, it continually looses the bluetooth connection with my phone and won't reset until I try it over and over again. It's never happened with ANY vehicle I've owned in 20 years. When you turn it on the device takes a long time to sync because it has far too much useless things. No navigation/map type feature but it can tell you how much air is in your tires. It also annoys you to get an oil change or a check up, but after you do, half the time they can't turn off the warning lights, beeps chirps and noises. Thanks for nothing and creating distractions to cause an accidents. The fob is also poorly designed and takes forever to actually lock, unlock open the trunk and doesn't even chirp so remember where you parked. All things that probably get bogged down by the bluetooth dashboard console system very poor design and execution of technology that every car manufacturer usually gets right these days. The seats are faux leather and can cause your backside to sweat more than cloth. The ride can be bumpy and rough since it's so small and set up in a more sporty fashion for handling. The other thing that's stupid, yes, stupid is the run flat tires. Sure, since it doesn't have a spare tire it's good in theory. This decision was made by children on a board or committee after they reviewed the promotional data and made a financial deal with a tire manufacturer before actually reviewing data of how they actually perform. You really can't repair or patch them, they're more expensive, special order, cause an even worse ride, less gas milage and overall something to avoid at all costs. If you plan to buy a Mini, demand they put on regular tires, RUN FLAT TIRES SUCK! The tires we're only 6-7 months old when I got the car, maybe several thousand miles on them and I've had 2 flats in only 3 months. Final score a 3 I rate the car a 5 but the stupid bluetooth/radio/dash console and its useless features a 1. That's a total of 6 divided by 2, equals 3. Hopefully they'll have upgrades to it or be able to reprogram the stupid dash board device. Who cares about changing the color of the lights around the console, or so many other insignificant "features" if it doesn't even stay synced to your phone. It's gone out of sync during phone calls or turning off the car to go inside and pick up a pizza, coming back a few minutes later. Then it won't sync after 5-10 attempts, even turning the car and radio on and off as well as your device multiple times. This feature alone is problematic to the point of causing distractions enough with all the beeps and chirps and losing connectivity to cause accidents. YES ITS THAT BAD! The bluetooth/radio dash device needs to be recalled and reprogramed its below the standard of Mini and far below the standard of BMW. Again a child would do better and besides that it's a great car. So turn off the radio and forget about using the stupid device and have fun! It's hard for me to do that because I'm so into music.

Shocked to find that BMW Mini have a premium rate number on thier customer complaints line

Shocked to find that BMW Mini have a premium rate phone number on their COMPLAINTS line...its an 0870 number that has charged me over £24 for a 20 minute call when I COMPLAINED about a service issue.
Then my phone provider blocked my phone as I had gone over my capped limit and could make no more calls.
Borrowed a phone, rang another BMW Mini number and after many forceful conversations on my side they agreed to send me a £50 compensation 'voucher' to spend on something in any Mini BMW showroom. Ha rip off customer who has a serious complaint by charging them for the call, then offering a voucher so you can spend it on a Mini 'experience product or service. As my car has a one year warranty anyway this was ridiculous when all I wanted was my £20 back to pay off my phone bill that they had, unbeknownst to me, charged me £24 DISGUSTED what company charges their already upset customers with valid complaints, a fee to make a complaint. YUK - shocked

Mini Uk

Mini Uk - lies on electric vehicle range expectations.

They won’t help one bit if the car won’t do the miles expected, they won’t take the vehicle back, they completely wash there hands of you. Wouldn’t even consider changing the term so we can get rid of this mini as soon as possible.

I will never buy a mini or BMW again based on this experience - be warned.

96 days waiting and yet again - trying to rip me off

I ve waited 96 days for BMW to supply a simple piece of cloth for the drivers seat -- as agreed was a supply of a full service on the car .. to compensate for the considerable hassle - waste - time and my costs incurred and today when i have taken the car in they want extra money for break pads which would be normal replacement parts on a 18k full service ... Robbbers .. and they claim not to be able to authorise the parts as the garage doesnt have anybody onsite or available via the phone to authorise ... COWBOYS

I expected better!

Collected my mini from long term parking, Mini assist then sprang into action although I didn't have a problem. Continued to call Mini assist every 30 seconds.
Straight to dealership who couldn't solve the problem told me that I would need to book it in. As I was not at my local Mini dealership I drove home with Mini assist going off every 30 seconds.
Called my local dealership and was told we can book it in at the end of February!!! If you want a loan car end of March!!!!
Took it to a local garage who ran a diagnostic check and reset the cars computer.
Also they showed me how to turn off Mini assist.
Very poor service from BMW Mini.

I love my MINI

I love my MINI! My first MINI was the Countryman when it first came out and it was pretty basic, but I wanted my dream car with the ability to still slide a car seat in and out easily. I was still nice to drive around. Now, I have the newest Countryman, special ordered, with John Cooper Works. It is such a fun car to zip around town getting my girls to/from school and all their activities and mine. Everyone at school and my friends around town look for my car when they are out and about. They go “hey, look! That’s Lisa’s little blue MINI! She must be getting a snack at Yogurtland!” HA HA!

Mini assist is shocking

Mini assist is shocking. Over an hour to get through. Then they sent someone to fix a tyre when they know tyres can’t be fixed and you need recovery. Then another hour to get back through again. So far over 4 hours waiting and still no assistance. If you were on a motorway you would be dead. If considering buying consider what happens when you have a puncture.
