I am very disappointed with Mobitel's network. The internet speed is extremely slow, even in areas with good signal. Simple tasks like browsing websites, watching videos, and using social media take too long because of constant buffering and poor connectivity. poorest internet connection in srilanka.

The SIM worked quite well in most of Sri Lanka. The problem is don't get scammed at the airport on the way into the country via Colombo international airport arrivals Mobitel kiosk. Come! come! madam, sim sim!. Swiped my card to pay.. Not working madam! You need to pay cash! No cash! get the cash and pay... they held my original sim until I returned with cash even though I had asked for it back. Then... you guessed it the payment went through on my card as well. Go to a genuine seller on the street for better price and service.

What the shit service this is. If you take money from customer please be kind to provide a good service. When call to customer service number we should wait so long time listening useless recording. I was waiting more than 20 minutes until someone get connected. And the lady who answered my call, while she sleeping and cut the call before i asked my details. No connection no service. This is the worst service ever i had. Disgusting. Really disappointed with service and connection

I hate mobitel cause of there isp throtelling and it is so bad it slows my connection down to 0.5 mdps i cant even watch a video properly at 720p with it 0.5 mdps is so slow please speed it up. inrernet speed increases when doing internet speed tests.

Terrible customer service, and network i have a home broadband i have to restart the router to use it every time to keep a stable connection, what a time waste

Mobitel’s signal is good. But their unlimited packages run out within about two weeks. This has been happening for the past few months. When the 30GB in my 1298 package is finished, not even a single app works. The package I activated this month (1278) was used up within a week. How can we trust this again? It’s disappointing to provide such a poor service to customers. We have been using Mobitel continuously for years, but the service is very poor now.

My experience with Mobitel Sri Lanka has been very disappointing. While coverage is good, their “unlimited” plans are misleading.

I repeatedly receive FUP warnings and heavy speed throttling even when I haven’t used much data. In one case, just 13 days after renewal, my speed was reduced despite having plenty of data left according to the app.

After that, the connection becomes almost unusable even basic apps don’t work while they keep pushing me to renew the package. This feels unfair and not transparent at all.

Absolutely disgusting service from Mobitel.

I’m visiting Sri Lanka for a 4-week holiday and purchased a prepaid eSIM. The connection was activated and working fine—until suddenly, after just one week, they disconnected my service without any prior notice.

When I contacted customer support, they claimed there was a “verification issue” and told me to visit a Mobitel outlet. The problem? I was in Yala National Park at the time, and this happened right before the Sinhala and Tamil New Year—so all their offices were closed for days.

I explained everything and even offered to send my verification documents via email, but they refused and kept repeating that I must visit a store (which was impossible due to the holidays). No alternative solution, no temporary fix, nothing.

Because of this, I was left without mobile service for days and struggled to manage my work, especially since hotel Wi-Fi was unreliable too. It’s now been several days, and despite promises to resolve the issue, no one has followed up.

Very poor planning, terrible customer service, and zero consideration for customers—especially tourists.

Do NOT buy a Mobitel eSIM online if you’re visiting Sri Lanka.
I highly recommend going with Dialog Axiata instead.

The connection is just unreliable, multiple times have I talked to customer service who say there are no ongoing issues. When it's connected it's good, but that's about it.

This is not a good connection. I am constantly having trouble with it. Whenever I contact customer service, they always say there is no issue in my area. The service is very poor. Even when my data package is active, I cannot use it properly. Videos keep buffering and loading. Very disappointing experience.

this one is a not reliable network ,dog shit network all ways packet loss and no connection when i ask several time they say they cant do anything , and they fill a case that's it . i have peo tv connection to even i cant wath tv because no connection all the time

I'm a digital nomad, I travel a lot in different places and it's def the worst provider I've seen. they sent me the Esim QR in a file with password but the password (country pass code + passport number) didn't work! and support asked me to just enter the passport number, which also didn't work! also talking with chatbot is more human than talking with their support, they just read the script without any knowledge or effort to solve your issue. And then they asked me to go to physical shop or contact through the website form. and the website is a total tr..sh! full of bug, tested different browsers to finally send the request.

Your network is working well.. but you guys haven’t a good prepaid plans everything is very expensive and also don’t have good unlimited plans like others please make the change for a good prepaid plans.

Mobitel claims they offer unlimited data, but they actually don’t. I’ve been using the 9–1 ‘unlimited’ data plan, which is listed under the unlimited combo plans on the Mobitel app — and it’s a total scam. They only give 25GB, which is not unlimited. I was informed of this when I called the hotline to ask why the package stopped working after just 10 days.

Useless service. Called them twice for a reconnection issue. 1st Call was on hold for more than 10 minutes n 2nd for more than 6 minutes n then line disconnected. Utter useless service provider.

Data connection is very slow.really disappointed.They named there packages as 'unlimited'.but theres only unlimited loading only.👎
