After trying to find the products we need, we write to Moddiy support and we take the best answers and solution by person on moddiy, thanks to Carrie because we write 3 or 4 time and the answers are positive without hesitate !

Been ordering cables for my PSU. It's cheaper than getting the actual original cables.
One time, they actually sent me the wrong cable, SATA instead of Molex. I complained and they immediately sent me the correct one, no extra charge.

I want to share my experience with ModDIY, so others don’t face the same issues.
On September 16, 2025, I ordered two “10 Pin to 8 Pin + 6 Pin GPU PCIe Power Cables for HP ML350 Gen9” from ModDIY. The seller explicitly guaranteed these cables are “original and correct for ML350 Gen9.”
The facts:
The cables I received were miswired. Instead of the correct HP pinout (3× +12V and 4× GND on GPU side), ModDIY’s version forces 5× +12V and 5× GND.
Even their own product photo reverse-searches to a cable for DL380 Gen8/Gen9, not ML350 Gen9.
Multimeter tests show completely wrong behavior: 10.5V on pins that should be 12V or GND.
After connecting the cables, my HP GPU Power Backplane (P/N 780968-001) was physically damaged. The logic IC 74LV165AD (U1) burned out.
Evidence:
ModDIY’s own chat: instead of accepting responsibility, they aggressively denied any problem, insisted their cables are “100% standard,” sent random Amazon links as “proof,” and finally told me: “Please cut the cable in half and send us the photo, then we will refund you.”
This is not professional support — it’s a clear admission that returning the item is pointless.
The result:
The cables are not as described.
They damaged working HPE Server hardware.
ModDIY refused to cooperate properly, denied evidence, and acted aggressively.
Replacement of the backplane costs ~€100 incl. VAT and shipping (serverShop24.de). Together with the cables, my total loss is around $250 USD.
Conclusion:
ModDIY sells cables that are not what they claim, can destroy expensive hardware, and their “support” is unprofessional and hostile.
I strongly recommend avoiding them.
All evidence (photos before/after, multimeter measurements, chat logs) is available and can be provided publicly.
Update after MODDIY’s response:
MODDIY’s cable had the wrong pinout, proven by direct testing. It caused a burned backplane on my HP ML350 Gen9 — real damage that they never compensated for. Their “14 years of experience” means nothing when their product destroys hardware.
They shipped a faulty, dangerous cable and refused responsibility. Never trust them.

They were very helpful in every aspect. The products I purchased fit perfectly. I did not experience any problems at all. The delivery time was also quite good. I was able to get immediate responses to my messages. Without hesitation, I can say they are the best in this field.

Carrie was very helpful in clarifying and identifying the proper 12V-2X6 cable from my PSU to adapt to a triple 8 pin GPU. Thank you!

These guys are great! We had an urgent need for 40 GPU cables. We placed the order on Friday night Eastern Standard Time. I received notification the next morning that my order was received and would ship Monday morning.

Great price and options. Needed to ammend my order, was very easy and painless.

Bought a custom 12V-2X6 90 degrees native cable.

Not only it looks fantastic, but I've put it under a 500W load, measured the current in each wire with a current clamp, and found that on both the ground and 12 volt cables the variance was not more than 0.2-0.3 amps.

Phenomenal quality and using it gives me a lot more peace of mind.

I contacted MODDIY because I believed that they sent me a faulty 2x8-Pin to RTX 12-Pin for my 5070ti, however, after speaking with the representative (Carrie) I was informed that I actually ordered the incorrect cable and should have ordered an 2x8-Pin to 12VHPWR. Carrie confirmed my product specs from my previous order and offered to send me the correct cable at no cost even though I ordered the wrong cable. Excellent customer service!

I placed the wrong order for the wrong cable and they had Alfred’s shipped the item. I couldn’t afford both the correct and wrong items so I contacted them and even though the item was shipped customer support found a way to cancel and refund it ! They were swift in responses to my questions as well.

Carrie with customer service has been absolutely amazing to work with and the MODDIY assembly team does top-notch work! There was a slight issue with the last mile shipping company after the cables landed in this country, but Carrie immediately reached out after I said what happened and corrected the problem without a second thought.
