LISTEN TO ME

LISTEN TO ME! Don't buy it! The keyboard (Everest Max) Is great hardware. The software they have to operate it! IS GARBAGE!! It will continuously forget your devices and reset your lighting presets. As well the Makalu mouse will NOT turn off the LEDS when you turn off your computer. If you have your desk in the same room as your bed be prepared to have your room LIT up at night by the AMAZING LEDS. LET ME REITERATE! THE KEYBOARD AND MOUSE ARE AWESOME! THE SOFTWARE TO RUN IT IS AWFUL! The support just gaslight you and pretend that the issue never happened or they ask brain dead questions and run you around till you give up! the ONLY solution for the Base Camp software they give is to reinstall it. I have done that 12 times!!! Since these issues keep cropping up! Again this software will forget your lighting presets, Continually just not see your devices making it impossible to see them on the software, and On top of that the "Compatibility with razer software" is a LIE. THIS IS HELD TOGETHER WITH DUCKTAPE AND GLUE! IT BARELY FUNCTIONS. Just don't get it. Trust me I was in the same place you are! This looks amazing! But if you do! Just know, you WILL end up in the same spot I'm in.

The software for their products has…

The software for their products has been neglected over 5 years and now officially abandoned.

They sold out their company, abandoned software updates, confirmed their software will not be made open source and then started the production of new products.

Stay away from this company.
It was good, now it's not.

i ordered 6-01-2025 a keyboard and keycaps. both available. after 2 weeks i emailed why i didnt got an email with sending comfirmation. response, warehouse was busy, but it should be send out soon.

after another week of waiting again an email what the status was. now at my surprise i got an email that order is been canceled by my request.

this company is false advertising with cheap temparary prices, and dont deliver. realy, stay away from them.

for someone from mountain. my order was 28540. and i have whole email conversation, so i can proove that i didnt request cancel.

this is my first negative review i make, but this is something a company cant do without people knowing how the company operates.

funfact. same keyboard that mountain cancelled could be ordered on amazon, and is already dispatched. guess what. by mountain.gg.

Great shopping experience

I purchased the keyboard directly from the mountain.gg site, apart from the slightly longer shipping times than expected (about 2 weeks), everything went perfectly. Customer service available, delivery via DHL after 3 days from shipping, fantastic product.

Ordered their keyboard from Newegg on eBay. Expecting delivery any day and then I get a recalled package notification on my UPS tracking. I contacted Newegg and they said the seller, who I now assume is mountain, recalled the package for some unknown reason. Pretty much guaranteeing I will never buy their products.

Just Don't.

Don't, just don't. I know it looks fancy. Just don't.

I got my keyboard several months after ordering it, tbf they did say it would take a while and they were relatively correct with when it would arrive.

Initially things were awesome, it's not the best thing since sliced bread but its cool. Then the keypad start randomly turning off if I didn't use it. Doesn't matter which side it's plugged into. I figured an update had gone wrong, as the software was a bit poo, but this was all new back then so I left it. This is the part that's my fault, its not software seemingly, its just buggered and I left it too long to sort.

Can only blame myself for not sorting it, though the customer care were not helpful saying I couldn't buy a stand alone keyboard/numpad, whichever, to solve the issue. Pretty dumb when its your defect. Whole new unit or nothing. Sod that.

Then there's the software. As other people have said it really is garbage and hasn't improved over time. It forgets your lighting, it breaks and doesn't let you edit lighting, it breaks and anything you select now turns blue, or whichever colour you used last, and the list goes on and on. Saving your profile will not save you either. Every update seemingly changes the nature of the issues, but the same few issues pop up constantly.

I spent too much money to bail out on using it to death but its a painful life.

So, in summary, just don't.

EDIT: Grammer

The equipment from this company is great but when I had problems with my equipment their only solution was to buy a new item as a replacement. I knew that the item was still functional but the software was having problems. I'm disappointed that this company's only solution is to replace a product rather than assisting in troubleshooting.

They clearly hired a CS service in India who got a small info sheet and that's it, because not only do they barely speak English, they also can't answer any questions that go into more detail than what is already on the very barebones info sections on the website.

I can't blame them for trying to save on every corner, being a small company with limited funds trying to invest all of it into the product itself, but honestly, if your potential customers have questions and get no useful answers, they won't buy it.

Don't buy the numpad or media dock yet.

This keyboard is all about the software.
And the software is hot garbage.

Does not work most of the time.
Need to uninstall and reinstall just to open it when you want to.

I have the Everest Max and the number pad isnt not recognised by the software to program and customise.

Sometimes the software actually opens but the loading animation is endless and i need to force the program to close, uninstall it and delete the DIR and restart and reinstall it.

I want you to buy the keyboard, but just so they can have enopugh money to keep working on the software. It's crap.

This is a five-star keyboard

This is a five-star keyboard, but for $300, loses a star each for:

- no on-board memory--need to reset custom wheel focus and volume memory at every reboot and every new sound output source--unacceptable on a $300 product

- 10-key pad doesn't connect securely--$0.150 steel rod needed, but not included on a $300 keyboard

- First request for assistance support IGNORED--unacceptable on a $300 product

- Second request for assistance to support IGNORED--unacceptable on a $300 product

Buyer Beware!

Ordered items in November for Christmas - it's now late March and no sign of anything yet.

To be fair, customer service seem to be doing their best - they do respond within a few days, citing Brexit, the pandemic, etc etc. But the fact is that they clearly have supply issues and the expectations they set on the website of delivery within a month are very very far from reality.

This is a shame, because by all accounts they have an excellent product - just terrible logistics! Maybe a company with decent organisation should buy them up ...?

Very long delivery times and absolute horrible customer service

After waiting for delivery more than 2 month, the keyboard has not met my expectations on such an expensive piece. For return i had to send it to the Netherlands for a pretty amount of money although it is a german company (of course therefore i expected to be their warehouse also here in germany). The return has been delivered to mountain warehouse on Feb 12th. No feedback from mountain at all. No answers on several emails. After posting this on their facebook page i got an email saying they will wait for the warehouse to check the return status. Now it is 5 weeks after i have returned the keyboard and i still have no refund and no further feedback. Feel like i got scammed. Please do yourself a favour and avoid this company.

All of you thinking buying this nice keyboard, expect to get it 6 months later.

All of you thinking buying this nice keyboard, expect to get it 6 months later. Don't think it'll come in time, don't think it'll be exactly what you ordered. & don't even bother buying if you're any bit impatient.

This Mountain Company has good products, too bad it's held up by garbage supply & they clearly don't care for it.

**Edit** There was a lot more I wrote but I deleted it because it was mostly frustration. Don’t get mad at customer support, they’re just doing what they can. Get mad at the company, Mountain, for their lack of transparency. They clearly don’t have enough supply & don’t tell people. The people you email & talk to are trying their best to help, but without any supply they cant.

Be kind to the people who reply to you, take your frustrations out on the company itself.

My point stands, Mountain is horrendous but their products are good. Expect 6months to a year for a keyboard.

Good products but they really need to improve customer service and communication

First, the keyboard was supposed to be a Christmas present, it was purchased in November 2020 (with their website stating it will be delivered on time for Christmas) and it took three months to be delivered, only because I wrote many messages on Mountain's Facebook page and they finally reached out to me to inform me they didn't have the config I ordered, so we made some changes and it finally shipped. Why did Mountain NOT reach out to me earlier is flabbergasting and shows very poor customer service and communication, but anyway... Just know what you're getting into when you buy their products.

The keyboard was delivered on the 20th of January and I must admit there is a real premium feeling about it. The packaging is really well done, it's a nifty box with drawers inside for each component. The keyboard itself is composed of four different parts, a very solid, high-quality TKL keyboard, with easy access and removal of the MX switches in the event you need to swap some. The finish of the gunmetal base is absolutely beautiful and clearly, this keyboard is made to last. There is also a USB path-through at the back of the keyboard which is not advertised on their website but it's defo useful. The only down is the key caps, they kind of feel cheap compared to the rest of the materials used for the keyboard, which is sad (I actually swapped the keys for the ones of my old Corsair keyboard as they feel more smooth and better quality). The armrest is actually one of the best surprises of this keyboard. it's padded with what seems to be cold cured foam which makes it very comfortable, it has a nice leather finish and it fixes to the keyboard magnetically, which means it's easy to remove if you need some space and easy to re-attach. Then we have the numerical keypad, which is made of the same material the keyboard, so same pros and cons here (solid base, low-quality caps) but it includes 4 customizable display keys that can either launch programs or do system commands like locking your desktop or switching off your computer for ex. Each key can have an icon of your choice associated with it so you can personalize them. My only complaint is there is way enough space to fit at least eight keys so why did the keypad only come with four? Another good point about the keypad is that it can be attached either on the left or right side of the keyboard but you also have the option to connect it using a cable so it can be detached from the core frame. Last but not least is the media dock and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised by this add-on. At first glance, it looks like any media keys (play/pause, backward, forward, mute, etc...) but it has a display wheel that is pure genius. This wheel allows you to display a clock, access your different profiles, change the lighting, modify the brightness of your display, adjust the sound of your computer but can also display some core info about your computer like CPU usage, RAM usage, GPU usage, internet speed, etc... All this with a simple scroll of the wheel and the press of one button which I find really useful.
Now, what ultimately pull this keyboard down is the Mountain software, Base Camp. It’s buggy, it doesn’t really give you a lot of options, especially with lighting and often when creating a macro or remapping the keys it simply does not work. I experienced Razer Synapse, Steelseries Engine and Corsair iCue and all three are better than Base Camp. One thing that really bugs me is the fact that even in custom mode, you cannot assign two or more lighting effects to the keyboard (i.e having the entire keyboard on static with one colour and adding a wave or visor effect (left to right sweep) with another colour is simply impossible which is really sad. I seriously think that when you sell a high-end keyboard like this one, it should come with a high-end software or at least something as good as iCue which is definitely not the case here. Base Camp seriously needs improvement.

To sum up, Mountain does have an impressive product with the Everest Max, it is just sad that the software seriously does not follow and urgently needs improvement. Also, their customer service, shipping times and communication are the worst I have ever experienced with a gaming peripheral company. When they improve all this, they will definitely become a huge player in the industry but at the moment of this review, they are far from reaching this position, hence only the 3 stars.
