Parking can be a complete nightmare

Parking can be a complete nightmare. They make it difficult when you have a pass and won’t let you up due to all snow players taking all the spots half the time. And for us long time season pass holders, we didn’t get a renew discount this season is ridiculous. So being a long time pass holder we aren’t thanked nor appreciated and pay the same as someone new .. that isn’t right at all.

I love Mountain High

I love Mountain High, it’s pretty local and closer to me than the other mountains. It’s nice to go there at the beginning of the season to freshen up before hitting the bigger resorts. It can get a little icy in the evening but the views are amazing!!! I would say a little improvement could be made for food and drink options but other than that it’s a great day out. The season pass is worth it if you go regularly 💙

Mountain High has so much potential but...

Mountain High has so much potential but they can’t seem to get it right. Usually only a handful of runs are open and the 2nd resort rarely opens. If you’re brand new to the sport and just want to learn then Mt High is for you but if you actually want to ride then look somewhere else.

Close to LA, well equipped.

Pros: Close to home, Well equipped. Long season with snowmaking. No long lines for chairlifts. Great for beginners: free magic carpet and occasionally a beginner chairlift, lots of lesson options, there is a team for seriously skiing kids led by volunteers. Ski in/out right from the main parking lot.
Cons: Deadlock traffic on the road during peak holidays, Not enough snowmaking (hoping for improvement!) to keep East resort open at dry winters. Not that much terrain.

Mt. High

Some of the employees are not the nicest but they resort is very good for a quick ski trip. Though they dont get very much snow they make the best out of what they have to work with.

Close to home winter paradise

For the average Los Angelino, Mountain High is a winter paradise. Ski season opens earlier and runs later than anywhere else in SoCal, the staff are always friendly and helpful, and the West resort offers plenty of paths for skiers and snowboarders of all grades.

Sure, sometimes it's a bit icy (first thing in the morning) but I've found that once I've given the snowboarders a good hour to scrape off any crust, it's a fine day on the slopes.

I learned to ski here, so maybe I'm a bit biased, but I've got nothing but love for Mountain High. Short drive from my home, no crazy windy mountain roads, never need chains or AWD to get up there, it's "accessible" in every sense.

Great place if you snowboard often

I actually haven't had any bad experiences here. It's a nice place to snowboard without having to go through the hassle of driving 5-6 hours to find another mountain. It's not the biggest or most beautiful mountain, but it's a good place to go.

Such is life...

A bit small (runs aren't terribly long/not too many trails) & not enough snow most years.. not much you can do about that tho. Compared to Big Bear, prices are very fair. I also love not having to drive up and down a curvy mountain road to get there. Maybe some more vegetarian/vegan options to eat would be the only attainable thing I can think of asking for.
