A great product and a company that can be trusted

There was a problem with my subscription, somehow two identical amounts for my yearly subscription had been taken out of my account. I wrote an email to their support centre and the mistake was corrected by George. It took s few days for a response to come back to me but I understand the support centre is probably managed by volunteers. MuseScore is an excellent piece of software which is constantly being upgraded. I am the fortunate recipient of a lot of peoples hard work and commitment to provide a first class product; an enormously useful application for those involved in music composition and its associated production. It goes without saying a company is measured by how it handles situations when things occasionally go wrong, in this instance MuseScore proved that are a company that can be relied upon to resolve issues experienced by their users. I would fully recommend this product and especially the level of the customer handling skills provided by MuseScore; something that is all too often missing in today's online world.

i purchased ONE sheet and it cost me $1 + $105 in membership fees??

i purchased ONE sheet and I just now realize I've been charged $105 in the last 3 months... ($45 in december and $60 in march). I do NOT remember there being any mention of anything about auto-renewing and i am deeply disappointed in Musescore. If I ever will purchase a sheet of music again, it will almost certainly not be from Musescore again until they refund me my entire $105 of membership for 6 months that I haven't used a single time.

Don't give them a single freaking penny.

If you buy even one score from them, Musescore sneaks you into a $50 subscription and makes it nearly impossible to get a refund. In a hilarious instance of how aware they are of this problem, using their chatbot gives you a set of prompts that mostly have to do with unsubscribing, canceling a charge, and getting a refund. Awful company with predatory behavior and they're probably pushing the very boundaries of legality to get away with this (if not breaking the law straight up). If I could give zero stars, I would. They're disgusting con artists.

Don't touch them with a bargepole!

They entice you with a 7 day free trail and then hit you with an £85 subscription which they refuse to refund. Then they make it as difficult as possible to find how to cancel the subscription. Even if you do subscribe they charge exorbitant prices for the sheet music.

I mostly appreciate the Musescore Studio as a tool for creating and editing music scores.

I mostly appreciate the Musescore Studio software. I play a lot of chamber music. It allows me to make arrangements of works to fit the ensemble. For instance, I will be playing in a string quintet with double bass soon. I thought it would be fun to play Grieg's Holberg Suite for string orchestra one on a part. There is a lot of "divisi" in the original string parts, but I found the score on the Musescore website, and I was able to make adjustments to the parts so 1) the double bass had more to do 2) the divisi sections could be modified and redistributed to make each part playable by one person. It's a lot of work, but it's fun.

I got ripped off

I got ripped off! I paid for sheet music for ONE song and was then automatically signed up for some membership that I never agreed to. Do NOT go to their website and click anything--you'll just get ripped off.
AFTER THIS REVIEW, I DID RECEIVE FOLLOW UP AND A FULL REFUND. THANK YOU FOR CORRECTING THIS!

Rip-off

I went to the website just to buy a music score. But a week later I received an email saying I bought a subscription. I didn't even have an account on their website.. and they billed me a 3 months subscription! I tried to stop it, but they refused. They only gave me 2 months back.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I paid for one piece of sheet music for my daughter for £1 and the transaction was seamless, a very good experience. Or so I thought. A few days later I recieved an email welcoming me to my Premium Membership and was billed £45 automatically using the card details I provided for a one off transaction. I cannot find anyone to write to. There seems to be no customer service line to rectify the sitaution so will have to ask my bank to deal with it. I am reporting this as fraud. I have have had to cancel my bank card in case of any other unauthorised payments. The company is based in Cyprus and outside of UK legal juistication.

Musescore enlarges my musical world

Musescore enlarges my musical world. I use it every day to arrange early music for recorder ensembles. Then I can easily upload my scores for access by the world's recorder players. I also can look at the scores of other arrangers to get an idea what they are working on. All for a modest fee. Pretty amazing!

unwanted premium subscription

I bought a single score (1.49EUR) and I was automatically subscribed to a 3 month premium offer. I'm used to buy on the net and I completely missed this one. This is really bad commercial habit and muscore.com shall be sued for this. This is a terrible publicity for musescore who is a great tool.

How much more can they get away with stealing?
How are Musescore continuallly allowed to get away with misleading and scamming their customers. I dread to think how much they have stolen over the years. Someone needs to be held accountable.

Read the small print....

I brought a score and somehow ended up with a pro subscription that I didn't realise that I had. I only new about it when the Money came out of my account. Immediately made efforts to cancel the subscription which was difficult and I'm not even sure still that it has been done correctly as it is intentionally evasive. I have contacted the team at Musescore several times and have been ghosted so went via PayPal. PayPal sided with them as they stated in email the day they would be taking payment for the subscription.... That I didn't know I had.... I initiated everything within 2 hours of money leaving my account. I am still at the time of writing within 14 days and according to their own T and C I should be entitled to refund. The customer service is disgusting, they are underhand and deceptive. They have taken £45 without my permission.

Dealing with the whole process has been an ordeal, however after leaving this review I was able to make contact with Aydar who was very prompt at resolving my issues. I would urge anyone to speak with him for help.

They make you play the "how do I unsubscribe???" game

They use deceiving tactics which result in you unknowingly subscribing to more than you intended.

Finding out how to unsubscribe was very challenging a they use unconventional terminology, "End Benefits" instead of "Cancel Subscription". I understand they want to keep business, but using deceiving techniques against their customers is undignified and unacceptable. I will not be giving Musescore any more business.
