Full-sized and large-frame folding bikes are great for exercise and for greater distances, but can be cumbersome to carry up stairs and on public transport. Bike shares are wonderful for short hops, but can be pricey for longer multiple stop errands, and inconvenient during rush hour. I was visiting NYC for the weekend, and while in East Village, I stopped into Urban Motion, looking for a scooter for my toddler. I wasn't sure what I wanted (style, price, flexibility), but after some advice and great suggestions from the owner Edgar, I picked up the "3-in-1". He didn't have the child seat and handle bar in stock, but said he would order it for me and have it shipped directly to Maryland. As promised, the child seat and handlebar accessory arrived at my doorstep 4 days later! All-in-all, a pretty cool store! Recommend it for anyone who would like an activity for their children or for themselves!
My 6-year-old cousin has just about outgrown his first scooter (also purchased from Urban Motion), so I went back to buy the Micro Maxi two weeks ago. I've also bought accessories from the shop before -- a computer bag and a helmet. I highly recommend this store. They have a great selection and the owner is always very helpful. Oh, and they have such a cute shop dog!
Urban Motion was accommodating to my request to gift wrap our nephew's scooter and even sent a photo via email before they delivered package. Urban Motion was a pleasure to do business with and our nephew loves his new well made scooter!
