As a man loves life I love Italy. The beauty, the art, the food, the wonderful and creative people. The exception is the absurd bureaucracy!
In any other OECD country if i contravened a speed limit i would get an email with pictures as evidence.
In Italy i get an unintelligible letter by mail with no information, only that i must get a SPID, an online personal data guzzling kind of App that requires hours of patience to get through the demands for information and hours more as you wait for a human to verify in real time all the data you have fed in. Then two hours later you get a code that allows you to find out what my driving offence was. I did not run over a disabled person or an animal i drove 9km above the speed limit. And you really want to know my opinion about this Kafkaesque experience. Then read this again!

Honestly the staff that is meant to check your data wasn’t very helpful in my case. I had some problems with my tessera sanitaria and instead of telling me exactly what it is i needed to do in one go they made me go to the ULSS 3 mornings in a row because each time they came up with some new number or signature that was missing. Very kind but unprofessional staff.

Excellent service, but it took a while to hear back by email about a problem with the codice fiscale. Also, the codice fiscale's form page doesn't include instructions for the Italian citizen holding a "attestazione consolare" instead of the tesserino fiscale plastificato.
