I recently sold and purchased a property having experience of selling and buying previously with other estate agents. I can honestly say Diane and her team based at the Bonnyrigg branch truly do provide a great integrated legal and estate agency service.

From my first initial contact with Neilsons by telephone that led to a home visit, planography, survey, viewings and transactions. All staff I communicated with provided a smooth purchase and sale journey experience who are incredibly professional, informative, dedicated and exceptionally organised and knew I was in safe hands.

The estate agent Megan who I spoke with was a great support, she explained step by step the sale and purchase process, backing the information up by e-mail, so relieved she did as you forget all information you discussed as there is so much to take in that you tend to forget it’s a working partnership where information is required from you about you and the property. The information I received was informative and helped me prepare in advance the information I needed to gather. I also found it helpful to receive tips on how best to plan for the sale, viewers and purchase.

The property I purchased came with a couple of queries relating to the survey report requiring clarification. Diane (Solicitor) was quick on mark to deal with any discrepancies to ensure a satisfactory response was received and that all I’s were dotted and the T’s were crossed. Being kept updated throughout the process is key and Diane kept me informed of any updates big or small through every stage of the process, answering questions I had quickly and efficiently.

I can genuinely write that my experience working with Neilsons has provided a positive long-lasting impact on how a solicitor and estate should be run.

My final words are Diane and her team are truly a real credit to the Neilson’s Firm and why they deserve a 5 stars rating and more from me!

Be careful when buying a property from Neilson's that the information you are given is correct. At present the firm has a flat on the market in Edinburgh which states there is a garden to the rear. This is incorrect - the area is a 'drying green' which makes a huge difference to the use/non-use of this area. You have been warned ...

Had great service from Neilsons on recent house sale , took care of the photos , plan and video via Planography photo business.advised us on price and strategy to maximise the final sale price. Had them do our viewings whilst on holiday too. Forty viewings & nine offers in two weeks. We were in a small chain and we are not the most patient people but Neilsons answered our emails and enquiries and pushed our sale through eventually to our satisfaction.

As first time buyers we relied on Neilsons to guide us through the house buying process, but we didn't feel we received the best service and it was really disappointing. They made huge mistakes in the process, they got our move in date wrong which lead to a last minute rush in sorting out the paper work to allow us to move on time. They provided us with final payment figures which were incorrect. We gave them two stars because once the payment was made they did move things along quite quickly and were helpful in getting the paperwork sorted in short notice. Personally, I wouldn't use this company.

I want to share my experience of leaving some jewellery behind at the Sardinia Neilsons.
Communication was great by all staff from when I emailed to say I had left it behind.
Frostie was brilliant and arranged for someone to bring it to the UK!
Collected from Brighton today and very pleased to say it was all there with a comprehensive list of all that was there done by the hotel staff. Very grateful to all staff in their handling of it from the housekeeping staff handing it in to Stephen who handed it over to me today. You are all brilliant and brilliantly organised. Used Neilsons to sell a flat on Edinburgh's west side during April-June 2022. Exceptional service throughout - very clear, speedy updates with transparent handover of work between sales and legal colleagues. Neilsons ensured we had excellent sales and marketing support throughout and our Sales Negotiator Kirsten Olverman was particularly competent, proactive, and knowledgeable - made the whole process feel like the work was in a safe pair of hands.
