My friend and I did the tsum valley and manaslu circuit 17 day trek, it was incredible. I can’t recommend this company enough, our guide Thal and porter Ajay were so kind and knowledgeable, we had so much fun. Communication and organisation before and during the walk were great, we wouldn’t change anything.

We used Nepal Alternative Treks Expeditions to arrange all necessary permits, hire a guide and two porters, and organize transportation from the airport and to the trekking starting point. Communication was excellent and the value for money was outstanding. They were very flexible and truly took great care of us. Our guide and porters were incredibly helpful, kind, and friendly. We felt safe and well looked after throughout the whole experience. We highly recommend choosing this agency.

My friend and I completed a 17-day trek of the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the very beginning, the company was incredibly supportive—always quick to answer our questions and happy to give detailed advice on gear and preparation. The itinerary was very well structured and made the whole trek feel smooth and manageable. The landscapes were absolutely stunning, and the team was consistently kind, helpful, and professional throughout. Before leaving for Nepal: Tej was incredibly reactive to our questions. He reassured us and gave excellent advice throughout the planning process.

Upon arrival: Tej came to meet us personally at our hotel to welcome us, brief us on the trip, and give us some final tips.

During the trek: Our guide, Ritika, took over and she was amazing! She took great care of us, answered all our questions, and even taught us some Nepali words. We learned so much about the local culture thanks to her. A big thank you as well to our porters, Nima and Sona!

Back in Kathmandu: We met up with Tej again so he could check in on us and get our feedback on the experience.

We have wonderful memories of this trip to Nepal. This is thanks to the adventure itself, but also thanks to Tej, Ritika and the all team, who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. And it really was! :)

We did the Manaslu Trek over a total of 12 days, with 10 days of hiking – and it was an unforgettable experience. The landscapes along the way were absolutely stunning: from lush valleys and remote mountain villages to snow-covered peaks, every day offered something new. The trails were not too technical, but the high altitude definitely made them challenging.

The accommodations were very simple, which is to be expected at these elevations – but that simplicity added to the authenticity of the trek. The highlight of the journey was crossing the Larke Pass at 5106 meters, a moment we’ll never forget.

A huge thank you to our guide Raj and our two porters, Yona and Amrit, who took such great care of us throughout the trek. When I got injured, they were incredibly kind and made sure I got down the mountain safely.

Overall, it was a truly amazing experience – physically demanding but deeply rewarding. If you’re looking to experience Nepal beyond the usual tourist trails, the Manaslu Circuit is an absolute must.

We did the Annapurna circuit with Tilicho Lake and in Ledar it started to snow. Unfortunately we (and everyone else in the mountains) had to stop and come back to Besisahar and Thal organised a jeep and accomodations not just for us, but also for another couple of another company whose guide seemed overwhelmed.
Thank you Thal for everything! And we also have to mention that both, guide and porter (Thank you Ragu!), talked in the best possible way of their company and Tej, they are working in good conditions (with insurance, good equipment, etc).

Well organised trek with good communication beforehand. Flexible itinerary and excellent guide (Saroj) and porter (Ramesh). Some difficult conditions going over the pass but made much easier and safer by a good guide who had plenty of experience. Happy to use this company again.

I just came back from the Tsum Valley + Manaslu circuit trek with Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions and I had a fantastic experience. I recently completed the Manaslu Circuit Trek with Nepal Alternative Treks, and it was an amazing experience! The 12-day itinerary was well-planned — perfectly balanced between covering good distance each day and allowing enough time for acclimatization.
The arrangements were excellent — we were provided with three meals a day, with plenty of choices and good quality food throughout. The trek is also very budget-friendly, making it a great option for travelers from India or anyone looking for a value-for-money experience.
Our trek leader, Raj, was extremely kind, supportive, and motivating. He made sure everyone in the group was comfortable and enjoying the journey. Our porters, Amrit and Yona, were incredibly hardworking, polite, and friendly — we became good friends by the end of the trek, and our group felt like one big family.
Overall, I’d highly recommend Nepal Alternative Treks for the Manaslu Circuit. If you’re looking to complete the trek efficiently without feeling rushed, this is the perfect choice!

Definitely recommend these guys. I did a lot of research before choosing a trekking company for my family hike in Langtang Valley in Oct 2025. Nepal Alternative Treks were among the cheapest and proved to be exceptional. Our point of contact, Tej, was responsive and easy to deal with. 

They picked us up from the airport and the next day met us at our hotel to run us through the itinerary and what to expect. They checked our gear and made suggestions. 

Our guide, Amar, was awesome. Informative, amicable and professional. The monsoon had not quite cleared when we trekked, so Amar had to take us through several landslides. He changed our route and timings to manage the risk and got us through our trek safely. We even summited Tserko Ri peak (around 5000m), which he timed so we'd have clear weather and magnificent views, when many other guides misjudged and had their clients climbing into clouds!

Monsoon rain put our flight home in doubt. But the driver provided by Nepal Alternative Treks waited for us at the airport just in case we couldn't depart. When our flight was cancelled, he took us back to our hotel.

I booked a 17 day trek in the Manaslu region with Nepal Alternative Treks in May 2025 as a solo traveler. I was very happy with the experience. The entire region is beautiful and the route was well planned to be manageable for an experienced hiker. My guide, Krishna, was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the region.

Had an awesome time with our guide Saroj, spent 15 days trekking up to Everest Base Camp, Cho La Pass, and Renjo La Pass. We were taken care of from the moment we landed in Kathmandu all the way to our departure. The company is very accomodating and flexible to your needs. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a stress free experience.

We just came back after a rewarding trek to Khopra ridge (Khopra Danda, as it's called in Nepal) in the Annapurna region. It's a less trodden trail in an otherwise highly crowded Annapurna region. It has trails going through traditional villages, pristine forests, leading to wonderful viewpoints of Muldai & Khopra ridge.

Weather played a bit of a spoilsport keeping cloudy which didn't let us go to Muldai, but Khopra ridge was splendid with panoramic views of Annapurna & Dhaulagiri ranges up close. Rhododendrons were in full bloom at the higher reaches. En-route Khopra from Dobato, the views at Baily pastures with grazing yaks amidst blooming rhododendrons will make you spell bound.

The services of Nepal Alternative treks were as good as the views. It was at the guide's encouragement, that we went up to Khopra, despite clouds & were rewarded with clear views amidst an otherwise cloudy & gloomy weather.

It's worth going with them again.

Nepal Alternative Trek – Annapurna Base Camp 7 Day Trek

Exactly what we hoped for, and more!
From the preparation phase all the way through to the end.

My partner and I booked our 7 day private guided trek to Annapurna Base Camp in early April of 2025.
We wanted to be able to enjoy the scenery, the different sights and experience at our own pace and we got exactly that with this tour.

Initially we were greeted by Tej who helped us take care of permits and other questions in regards to gears and rental options available. Tej was very accommodating, and gave us all the information we needed in order to prepare ourselves weeks in advanced of the trek. And ultimately connecting us with our guide for the journey.

We were picked up on the day of the trek by our guide with a jeep and headed towards the starting point of the itinerary. Over the next 7 days could only be described as magical, with the forecast overshadowing a rainy and stormy ascent and low visibility. We prepared ourselves with low expectations for the chances of seeing the mountains and tried to focus on enjoying things moment by moment. Little did we know that the mountains had other plans and decided to show us the full display of its beauty. Of course, we had our fair share of rain and low visibility, to us it really added to the grandeur of its reveal once the weather did clear up.

None of this would have been possible without the help and humility of our guide and porter; Andrea and Surya. Their expertise of the area, connections with the different location we headed to each day really made us feel as if we were in the best hands possible. We greatly owe them our thanks to their generosity and hospitality. We could not see ourselves journeying this trek without those two, who we now consider as friends.
