1 star — Gross Incompetence & Disregard for Responsible Gambling
Following my previous review regarding NetBet's complete disregard for responsible gambling obligations, I have now had the misfortune of speaking with a so-called compliance manager, who proceeded to refer me to IBAS to resolve a responsible gambling complaint.
I find this absolutely astonishing. IBAS — the Independent Betting Adjudication Service — deals exclusively with betting disputes. It has no jurisdiction whatsoever over responsible gambling or social responsibility failures. That a compliance manager, of all people, is not aware of this most basic distinction is deeply alarming and calls into serious question whether NetBet's compliance team is adequately trained or even qualified for their roles.
This is not an isolated issue. NetBet has been fined £748,000 by the UK Gambling Commission in 2020 and a further £650,000 in November 2025 — both times for social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures. This is a company with a proven, repeated track record of failing vulnerable customers, and the behaviour I have personally experienced confirms that nothing has changed.
My complaint has now been formally escalated to the UK Gambling Commission. I would urge anyone who has experienced similar failings to do the same at gamblingcommission.gov.uk.
NetBet, you should be ashamed.
