Newark Cylinders were very helpful and I spoke to the same person each time who understood my requirements and always translated to a new drawing. NewarkCylinders were a breath of frest air after a dreadful time trying to specify a cylinder with Telford Tanks who gave conflicting advice and are so rushed off their feet and didn't always do what they promise. Newark are a little more expensive but worth it for professionalism and peace of mind.

Best cylinder in the market, and delivered on time.

I designed and installed my own central heating system 35 years ago. It was very unconventional at the time as it incorporated an IMI Flomax open vented heat storage cylinder with an internal mains pressure heat exchanger to provide mains pressure hot water via a thermostatically controlled valve to hot taps and shower. Hot water is sent to the radiators directly from the cylinder by a second pump and controlled by a timer and room thermostat. All was fairly well until the cylinder sprang a leak after about 30 years.

I contacted IMI Flowmax and was told that they still made this cylinder but they would NOT supply me directly (as a retail customer) and I must order through a plumber’s merchant. When I tried to do this all the merchants hadn’t got a clue what I was talking about. Alter lots more calls I was eventually able to get a couple of quotes which were both sky high and with long waits. For a couple of days I didn’t know what to do and then I had a ‘brainwave’ which turned out really well!!!

I remembered that there was a copper cylinder manufacturer in Newark only ten miles from where I live. Rather than phone I just turned up there and within ten minutes I was invited to sit in an office with the owner of the business. I explained my situation and he produced a pen and paper and together we designed exactly what I was looking for. His advice was invaluable and included extras which I hadn’t considered such as a couple of 28mm connections top and bottom so that I could link the cylinder to a future wood burner. When he priced the job it it came to less than half the prices I was quoted for the, replacement IMI Flowmax.

It only gets better, as the cylinder thermostat fitted into an internal mount and is far more sensitive than the external thermostat that was strapped to the outside of the first cylinder. The internal heat exchanger is also far more efficient and produces hot tap water at lower cylinder water temperatures and always at a hot but safe temperature.

When my really old (35 years) 'Ideal Ilan 2' boiler finally packed up earlier this year I replaced it with a Viessmann Vitodens 16Kw 'Heat Only' gas boiler which INTEGRATES PERFECTLY with my 'Newark Cylinders' heat store cylinder. The two together are awesome with instant hot water at a perfect consistent temperature and with radiators that also heat very quickly. The boiler can easily cope with the load of both at the same time if required and also run close to 100% efficiency at times of little load upon it, resulting in lower gas bills ..

Newark Cylinders provided good service overall, but there were small issues with delivery timing. Communication was strong, and they worked hard to resolve everything smoothly. The product quality and attention to custom specifications were solid, though not flawless. I’d consider using them again, but there’s room for improvement in some areas.

This Company and its MD Mark Smith go to the extremes with assistance and advise cannot thank them enough Duncan Bennett.

Received really a first class service from Tom and the team. Very flexible and accommodating. There was an issue with a third part accessory (external) just past warranty but Tom was kind enough to speak to their supplier and have it replaced

Great company, would definitely use again

Good quality product, but quite expensive

Fast efficient easy. A bit expensive but good value.

We requested quotes for a large marine calorifier from several companies. Newark Cylinders were the most expensive but provided the most information on their website and in their quote, Adam answered the queries we had promptly and the spec of the calorifier seemed very good so we placed the order with Newark. When the courier delivered the calorifier it was poorly packaged in just a cardboard box, which seemed totally inadequate for the size and weight. The cardboard was clearly also damaged and upon opening the packaging the calorifier ring stand was damaged, causing the calorifier to rock from side to side. On contacting Newark Cylinders about this they were apologetic and came up with several ways forward, one of which was agreed upon with Tom resulting in an outcome we are happy with. Adam and Tom were always helpful and professional to deal with. Were it not for the poor packaging and subsequent courier damage it would have been five stars but I think it's a well-deserved four stars.

Great company to deal with. Tom excelled himself with the way he handled my design and follow ups. Looking forward to dealing with Newark going forwards as we launch our own cylinder range.

Easy to order exact spec I needed for a solar cylinder to fit in a tight space. Sales person was very helpful and ensured all the fittings were in the right place for a straightforward installation.
