I previously ordered one for today and dropped it last night and ruined it.
Shay saved the day and had one out to me in the morning at 10 am...

Terrible experience. Ordered a cake for delivery on 25th July for an event on 26th. Order showing as placed but not dispatched so emailed the company only to be told there was a delay with my cake and they would get it prepared to be sent on 26th, then told there was no guarantee of delivery before the event started at 1pm, then they couldn’t even issue as they had no time to make it ahead of the pick up. When questioned they said it was an issue with courier however order was never showing as being dispatched. Terrible experience and will never use again. Left scrambling around trying to organise a cake the day before the event

I have used Newcakes for both my children’s birthday cakes for the last 4 years. They have always been professional, efficient and responsive. The cakes look amazing and the taste is wonderful! I will continue to get these lovely cakes for many more years.

This is the second time I’ve bought a bespoke cake from this company and I have to say that I wouldn’t hesitate to order from them again!
Dealing with Shay has been very good and although sometimes communication can be slow, on the whole it has been an absolute pleasure.
The first cake was for my son’s 21st birthday party and we wanted a variation on one of the cakes they did: The drunk student and after discussing how I wanted it, I was delighted by the end result. The cake was very well packaged and arrived on time and fully intact and was a real showpiece.
The second cake was more recently for my wedding. This was a totally bespoke cake and I had very specific requirements. Shay patiently looked at my pathetic diagram and listened carefully to my needs and after exchanging some photographs and agreeing on a price the cake was made. Unfortunately, this time around the cake was not delivered on time but was delivered later on in the day than I was expecting. Some of the box was damaged but not the cake because of how carefully packaged it was!! However, due to the heat of summer and the delay, the writing on the cake was smeared which was such a disappointment. Also, two key elements of the cake were missing which was extremely sad as they were very important to me. Finally, the cake was dry and the layer of strawberry jam was almost invisible along with fake vanilla buttercream even though I had asked for real buttercream! The cake was stunning to look at and even very fine minute details were added that blew me and everyone else away. The details in my dress were captured perfectly and all my guests were asking where I had got this showstopper of a cake from. This was more a piece of artwork than cake which was okay but not what I should have been given. I gave this feedback to Shay who was very gracious and took it all onboard. I totally recommend this company and will be ordering many times from them again as I’m sure they will have taken on board my comments and will improve their products. I may also add that their turnaround times are fantastic.

Ordered the rowing cake for my son’s 18th who is a keen rower. The cake was brilliant, I sent pictures of his clubs uni and they incorporated all of this into the cake, which made the cake completely bespoke. Delicious taste too…loads of positive comments from guests. And it travelled 200 miles and arrived unscathed! Thanks very much!

We had the absolute pleasure of working with the New Cakes team for our engagement party, and we honestly couldn’t be happier with the experience from start to finish.

They created a stunning two-tier cake for us - one tier was a rich chocolate sponge and the other a classic Victoria sponge. Both were incredibly moist, flavourful, and beautifully balanced - the kind of cake that not only looks amazing but also gets everyone going back for seconds (and thirds!). The attention to detail in the decoration was exceptional; they followed our design brief perfectly and brought our vision to life with so much care and creativity.

What really stood out was how accommodating and thoughtful the team was throughout the process. We had a few additional requests, including gluten-free cupcakes for some of our guests, and they took this on without hesitation. The cupcakes were just as delicious and well-presented as the main cake, and it meant so much to us and our guests that everyone could enjoy the celebration without compromise.

Delivery was punctual and smooth, which took a huge weight off our shoulders on what can be a very hectic day. Having one less thing to worry about, especially something as important as the cake, was a real blessing.

We’re beyond grateful for the professionalism, artistry, and genuine care shown by the New Cakes team. They played a special role in making our engagement memorable, and we will absolutely be considering them for our wedding cake. Thank you again for everything!

We ordered a cake from New Cakes for a recent SBS event, and it was absolutely fabulous! Not only was it super delicious, but it also added a special touch that contributed to the success of our celebration. Shay was a pleasure to work with - fun, attentive, and extremely detail-oriented. Every aspect of the cake reflected the care and creativity of New Cakes, making the entire experience seamless and enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Perfect cake just what I ordered. Even though I wanted some changes to the original design nothing was too much trouble. The cake itself was tasty and not at all dry, it was well packed in the box and the courier took great care of it as there was no damage at all. Only one bad comment indoor fireworks were not allowed at the venue to set off the cake so we had to set them off at home in the garden, so maybe rethink those?

Wonderful 5-star service! Cannot fault anything. I found this company on line, very last minute and they absolutely surpassed my expectations. The cake was delivered on time and packaged really securely so it arrived unscathed! The cake was absolutely gorgeous and tasted amazing.
