This is a great card. It's accepted everywhere, the interest rates are reasonable and the account is very easy to maintain. I highly recommend everyone get an Aqua card for their wallet/purse.

Newday Limited charges astronomically high interest rates and also dishonestly misleads its customers. I received and accepted a six-month 'interest free' balance transfer offer from Newday Pulse. I transferred the sum of £4,850 to two other credit cards and naively and in good faith paid Newday the sum of £145.02 for this facility. This was the legally binding contract that I entered into with them and I fully expected them to keep their side of our contract. But I was robbed!! Beware their dishonest 'small print'!
During the following 3 months I very carefully maintained the balance of my Newday account below £4,850 and assumed that I would not be charged ANY interest charges by the company during the 6 month offer period.
However, 3 months into the 6 month 'interest free' period the company added an interest charge of £71.60 to my account. On the same day I discovered this unacceptable and dishonest charge I sent the company a strong written complaint, requesting a response within 14 days.
It is now 14 days later and I have received no response from the company. If the company fails to refund me the £71.60 that they have deviously and dishonestly debitted to my account, I will shortly fully repay the outstanding balance on my account with them.
I will then make a formal complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsman, seeking the repayment of the set-up fee of £145.02 that they charged me, plus the sum of £71.60 that they wrongly charged me and compensation in the sum of £250 for the inconvenience that their conduct has caused me.
Thereafter, and if necessary, I will make a County Court claim against them for the above amounts, totalling £466.62 plus court costs.
I will not trust this 'loan shark' company again and I strongly advise members of the public not to apply for any Newday credit card, as they dishonestly treat their customers with contempt, and as 'cash cows'. Scammers!!
POSTSCRIPT (25.07.2026)
On 21st July I received an email from Laura Muriel of the Complaints Department of Newday Ltd. She rejected my complaint but agreed to refund the interest charge of £71.60 on an 'ex gratia basis'! (😂).
She refused to repay me the sum of £145.02 that I had paid the company in good faith for a 6-month interest free balance transfer of £4,850. I am now only receiving the 'interest free' offer on a reduced sum of £2,774. This is £2,076 less than the facility of £4,850 that I paid the company for the facility.
The company applied my credits to my 0% balance transfer offer, rather than to my current purchases, as I had intended and anticipated would be the case. The balance transfer offer of £4,850 should in my view, and without any doubt, have been 'ring-fenced', rather than 'pillaged' by the company, a blatant fraud in my view.
The above reinforces my opinion that Newday Limited scam their customers, and I am proceeding to make a formal complaint against the company to the Financial Services Ombudsman. Avoid this company, as they will take you to the cleaners!

Very bad experience.New Day have no option for people to email them. Have had to resort to complaining via Resolver.co.uk, and they have ignored that.
Stop denying customers who can't talk on the phone, give them the option to email. Some don't want to talk on webchat.
All the while this is taken to resolve, interest and late payment fees are being added to my accounts.

Interest rate high but other than that a fantastic card to have. People at Marbles are also really helpful with any query.

Be careful of AO annual fee £39.99 , no reminder. Then a £5 payment. didn't assoiciate Newday with AO. Then £12 late payment making £58 debt. Settled and closed account, not happy. Won't buy or use either of these company's again.

Argos has been awful since New Day took control of Argos Card. Relentless reminders and harassment for payments resulted in the closure of my account. I no longer purchase any goods from Argos as 'Argos Pay' & New Day are insufferable. All complaints are ignored, they just want your money and more with the ridiculously high interest rates, late payment fees and anything else they can find to bleed you dry with.
