I feel like I was screwed over multiple times just to end up having to pay back full tuition as a single mom trying to provided for my child and barely being able to stay afloat. This company says they are here to help but they aren’t. When you don’t agree with there views they either push you to the side or bully you into what they want. I would never recommend this company for anything.

This program is a joke. Do not do it!

This is NOT a good program. To begin with, there are several issues with the app. Should be more difficult to accidentally exit a lesson or knowledge check because you have to redo the whole thing if you accidentally leave, even if you were on question 15 of 15. Makes completing skills take hours sometimes. App restarting in the middle of things is also frustrating and happened frequently. I had such a hard time making progress in the skills sometimes(due to technical difficulties not to do with me), I thought this program must be a scam just trying to get my money because there was no way I was going to graduate on time with as frequently as I was having problems with it. My "mentor" was a joke. The first one I was assigned to kept missing our phone appointments, so I was assigned a new one, but I had already been in the program for 2 months at this point. My new mentor constantly reminded me of what I needed to get done, while forgetting any bit of information I gave her(such as my beginning date being incorrect. My starting date was entered wrong and my deadline was extended to reflect that, but the start date was never changed. Even though week after week I explained I had been in the course 3 weeks less than what the date said, she never remembered and week after week would say things about me being so far behind when I wasn't.) Felt like nothing but a name on a piece of paper to her. I was scrambling after my childcare canceled on me last minute, thinking I was about to lose my place in the program because my mentor said I wouldn't graduate on time if I didn't make these lab dates. I reached out to my mentor and she gave me no indications that I could still reschedule. Left me losing my mind for that whole day and the next. Then I get a text message from her asking about rescheduling the labs like it was no big deal and we could have done that in the first place. That was the last straw. This program is a joke and I will tell everyone I know that they should not enroll. I was a CNA for 8 years in Idaho and was using this program to recertify in Oregon, and I very much regret it. It is not even worth being "free" for all the headaches and impossible deadlines.

This has been a pretty stressful…

This has been a pretty stressful experience so far. Once labs began everything was fine the first two days, but after that it was extremely unorganized. The instructors were not ready to instruct and they let us know that they were just thrown into teaching the labs. The way the labs were set up did not work for our group. We had a bigger group then usual, and the students need to film each other performing the skills taught. For some, English is not their first language and these skills were much harder to pick up and it felt like the the instructors weren't there to help, leaving it to us students to take the time to film the other students and then help teach them the skills which burned so much time and made it so everything could not get filmed. Some groups had four people in it and some skills were 15 mins long. This made the process take forever to film your skill and move on to the next. We did not get everything shown that would be tested within those four days. Which means we had to come back the next week, and some people still didn't finish. Since we all have lives outside of next step and current jobs, which we have to take time off for these labs, made this even more stressful. One of the instructors was very rude to some of the students. Her tone and the way she was talking to us was like talking down to us. Overall this experience so far has been stressful and I am worried when it comes to being state tested. I know my skills, but the steps need to be exact and some skills I only ran through one time. Hopefully it'll all work out and not be a big waste of time.

Everything was good until the end when you were supposed to get me a job. And I know everybody wants to use the excuse that I wrote so many emails or whatever oh, I did some but not enough to cause an issue and I do learn from my mistakes so it didn't happen more than once. Now you want to try to get money from me, I don't even have a job and I'm not capitalizing off of it so why should I pay you? Sincerely and as honest as I can be Christopher Pettit

The structure of the program is set…

The structure of the program is set very well. Online learning, pre- clinicals and clinicals and pre-skill labs. I passed my written and skills my first time and feel a high percentage of the students did as well. The job coordinator worked hard to find me a job that fit my needs. Also all the staff are nice 🙂

When I first started with Nextstep I was amazed on how much easier it was for me to be able to do the classes on my phone and still work. It's really a program for some one to be able to do on down time at home or on lunch breaks. My mentor ariyana was great she always answered my questions when needed. The instructors we had for labs were great to. I would highly suggest this program to anyone wanting to work in a job

Loved it

Getting graded on the submission videos in a more timely manner would help . Also in the app the practice lab symbols could be right before final exam. A few of us were mislead thinking we hold off on those skills until practice lab starts. But other then that the instructors are awesome doing their best with this new way of learning. Vey helpful also.

Good program over all. Looking for a place to work close to my home, As of now the only places to complete my 90 day agreement is 1 hr from my home. However someone is working on that. I noticed a few mistakes with program and have forwarded to the proper person.

I absolutely loved the nextstep

I absolutely loved the nextstep program. As as a state home mom trying to get classes that work for my schedule was really difficult by being able to do a the book learning part online made this so easy. I had an amazing mentor through all of the learning and applying of skills. Mary,my mentor, Luke, my instructor for labs, and Jessica, my clinical instructor, were all amazing and so supportive. The labs were so educational. I loved doing my clinicals in the hospital up in Everett.I feel like I learned so much with the next step program. After graduating the program I was placed at a facility that I absolutely love. I look forward to passing my skills test and becoming a certified nursing assistant. I know I will have no trouble passing my state exams because of all the support and education I received

This was an okay training program

This was an okay training program. However, the app had many glitches. When I started, I had to do video recordings to answer the challenge questions. That was not enjoyable whatsoever. Also, when I started this program, I was told/promised many things. But at the end, NextStep went back on their word. Mentors were friendly but not too knowledgeable, and the weekly calls were kind of annoying. They use an internet system to make this phone calls and I could hardly ever understand what my mentor was saying to me. I don't think this program helped me (training wise) get my certification. I've had plenty of experiences through my work places that helped much more.
