The whole process was quick, clear, and handled with confidence and professionalism from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout, and everything was explained in a straightforward way which made the experience far less stressful. My claim was processed and paid within just 12 days, which exceeded my expectations. I really appreciated how efficient and supportive the team were, and I would highly recommend them based on my experience.
Unacceptable Treatment by NFU
Following a recent review that I gave NFU a week ago they have replied via this media and just said ‘contact the ombudsman’.
That is exactly what you do not want from your insurance company, but this is absolutely typical of the non service I have received throughout this claim.
The left hand appears to have no idea what the right hand is doing and most definitely Sophie at NFU who put her name to the reply did not read my review properly and certainly has not read the correspondence in my case. Unfortunately there is no mention where to contact anyone just the arrogance of the comment go away and ‘contact the ombudsman’. As you choose to reply to me via this public media other potential or existing customers will have the benefit of my experience what they can expect in the future.
I have accepted that you are not prepared to cover me for the water damage caused by the burst water tank in my property. That was not what my last review was about.
I am not prepared to accept the damage caused by your contractors when you initially accepted the claim as your responsibility and large areas of perfectly good carpet were ripped out unnecessarily and now you are not prepared to reimburse me, discuss the matter or even reply to my emails.
NFU have been coming back to me for 5 months on this and I have sent 4 chasing emails through their appointed loss adjuster who again on 8th May replied ‘Thank you for your email, I have chased the Insurers for their response’.
To me it is quite extraordinary that initially NFU accepted that this was their claim and then a week later changed their minds. I received a telephone call from their appointed loss adjuster telling me that they will no longer honour the claim.
Ok, well what about your appointed company entering my property and doing things their way that I thought at the time was excessive. I thought, well I’m insured so they will put it all right.
Then they just walk away and leave me with the mess and all of the costs when they should not have been in my property in the first place !
Then to top it all NOBODY at NFU can make a decision or even have the courtesy to communicate with me about this for 5 months.
Surely any reader even within NFU must think that this is extraordinary.
Simply the best insurance company for me!
The best insurer around for my house and its contents, as well as my car. Unfortunately, I recently had a water leak in my bathroom. I need not to have worried - the NFU were absolutely ACE in every way, from me making my claim, the care taken of my claim, to the workforce the NFU provided. 10/10 for this wonderful insurance company.

Today I requested a quote for comprehensive car insurance and a lady phoned back and asked 2 questions one of which was had I made a claim to which I replied yes ( a minor bump) to which she said as you've had a claim and are over 70 we can't quote that's ridiculous in fact AGEISM.
She never asked details of the claim. Not good business practice, be AWARE.

Poor company was insured with them 25 years farm insurance house cars they had £1000s over them years maybe £250000 I had 1 non fault accident they wanted to pay but couldn't get the other party to agree and tried to charge me I refused and they tripled my car insurance. I had to get ombudsman involved to get compensation witch was granted disgusting service after all them years with no claims. Don't bother there advert is total lies never again.

I have been with NFU for 16 years and this week made my second claim.
Arrived back last Tuesday from 10 days holiday to find my freezer had completely defrosted a week before due to a power cut that threw the circuit breaker.
I called on Wednesday morning to the Warminster branch and got straight through. The agent called me straight back to confirm I was covered and asked me for a list of the contents with replacement costs and a description of the freezer.
We did that later that afternoon. By 1800 it was confirmed that we would receive all I had claimed for less a £50 excess.
But the most incredible thing was that the cash was in my Bank later on Thursday.
Wonderful service , wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else.

Shocking service - beggars belief !
Terrible service. I made an official complaint about an ongoing claim involving a fallen tree which was not actioned at all - I ended up paying £3800 out of pocket to get the roof mended. U ahve had no resolution 6 weeks later-
To add insult to injury, the NFU have refused to cover our home after one failed payment which was an oversight during a period of severe illness, leaving two vulnerable adults in an uninsured house. My mother used NFU for 40 years - it’s an absolute scandal. I’m sure the papers will have something to say about this.
I couldn’t recommend the NFU to anyone, please avoid especially if you are in anyway vulnerable they will not look after you.
