I have been a member of NRMA for a few decades and have delt with a few other Insurers also in this time and have always find NRMA to have the best options and most reliable at honoring what they promise.
The Insurance Administrator was well versed in the policies and information given, he also gave several scenarios which I had asked for giving me the confidence of choosing the correct policy for my situation. The service was great!

I’ve had my car with NRMA since 2020, just had my first ever claim and they were incredible to deal with, full repairs, hire car and the overall experience was better than I could have expected. Actually talked with real Aussies on the phone that were super helpful. Very happy.

CTP quote could not pay online - prompted to ring 132132 Ring 1st time quote number cant be found - 2nd call after being helped by a brilliant lady who found all my details, my phone drops out - ring third time cant find any details from my quote. Way to hard just paid my existing CTP slip with QBE which was dearer. You must loose alot of $ with this system.

I am writing this review to express my deep disappointment with NRMA regarding my recent car insurance renewal.
My history with NRMA is a long one. I originally started my insurance journey with you when I was just 19 years old, insuring my first car. I have been overseas and on returning I chose to stay with NRMA, believing that long-term loyalty would be recognised and rewarded.
However, I am now 65 years old, and I have just been quoted nearly
$2,000 for a comprehensive full cover policy for a vehicle that is worth only
$6,000.
To put this into perspective, I am being asked to pay one-third of my car’s total value every single year. This makes absolutely no sense from a financial or logical standpoint. I am shocked that NRMA would present such an unreasonable quote. Who is calculating these underwriting premiums, "THE MAN FROM MARS"!
I had hoped for a fair premium that reflects my long-standing loyalty, clean driving history and the modest value of the insured vehicle. Instead, this quote feels dismissive and completely out of touch with reality.
A real joke!!!!

I spoke with Jessica a while ago. It was a no fuss, clear and very professional transaction. Im not feeling very well today, which makes it hard for me to communicate but Jessica did a very good job so i can understand clearly the policies.

Absolutely hopeless staff and management
I was trying to pay my roadside membership
But couldn’t at post office as there link to pay at post office not working
I explained to staff and manager asking to have bar code sent to me
6 times I asked
6 emails
But no they couldn’t send it
So I cancelled 6 of my nrma memberships
Go to hell you useless hopeless nrma

My experience with NRMA was 100% happy in both area's of insurance. I took out new policies for our House and Contents and motor vehicle.
Both Support staff was able to assist me to find the right policy for our needs.
1 was 100% happy with the Service I was provided and the helpful guidance of the procedure process. Very happy to say that I will be saving some money by changing Insurers and have a much better cover on contents insurance. Thank you Lenni (MV) and Dave (H&C). I would definitely recommend checking out NRMA Insurance.

Cancelled a few policies, was told any monies sent back to card, I noted I dont live at former address and gave a new address.
2 weeks later i then get informed they sent cheques to my former address.
The insurance for my van was just under 3k, another insurer, 1.3k, less than half.
I spent nearly an hr on the phone for nothing

I was hit by a car while riding and needed to put in the claim for the damages to my bike. NRMA covered the value I had it insured by them but at no point were they easy to deal with. I tried to pursue the outstanding amount with the drivers insurer directly as NRMA told me to and was instead told that NRMA was pursuing that amount and I had to go through them. Multiple calls without a straight answer, it wasn't until I lodged a complaint was it confirmed this was true. At the same time and on the same policy we had to make a claim as our storage unit was broken into. When we rented the unit we added it to our policy. When we make the claim, what would you know? NRMA had migrated us to a different policy and it no longer covered the unit (but funny they didn't remove the specific bike which I paid a premium to add) so we were left without insurance. We even explained that if we were told we needed a higher level of cover we would have taken it up! They say they are a "HELP" company but they aren't. The saddest part is that the customer service I received from the drivers CTP insurer (GIO) has been better than anything I have ever received from NRMA. 23 years and never received good customer service from NRMA. There is literally no benefit to loyalty. Time to go.

NRMA has provided a great price for my Wovi vehicle. There was a hailstorm in late 2025 and my car was heavily affected. It already had previous hail damage, but my car was accepted for a complete repair of the hail damage because of how severe the new damage was. As expected, there was a long wait for my car to be repaired. However, when my appointment did come around, NRMA was very helpful.
ASG Hail was the company that repaired my car and did a stellar job. My paint is a complicated colour, and a few parts of the car needed to be repainted. The entirety of their work was beautiful. Anything I noticed on my car after the repair was resolved quickly and fairly by friendly and helpful staff.
I had an unexpected delay due to a part arriving damaged, which added a week and a few days, meaning my rental car period of 21 days was completely used up and I would need to pay more for another hire car. However, this was not NRMA or ASG Hail’s fault. ASG Hail worked fast to minimise the additional days. When I approached NRMA about needing another rental or an extended rental with them, they solved it by extending it for another two days, resolving a significant financial burden.
I cannot complain at all — both parties have done an amazing job for me and I just want to say thank you to everyone for your assistance.

I respect NRMA a lot because they have these helpful people and do not force us to go online and become quite frustrated
