I bought something from a business using Nuvei as a payment processor, something that should have taken a few minutes max, from buying to paying.
It has been 3 days now and the payment has yet to be verified. It was a 20$ purchase, the money left my account, every other payment processor manages to do this within minutes. This is unacceptable.

The worst service I have experienced so far. Submitted application for the service 25 June the pos terminal arrived on July 03, start expecting payment from customer and batches closed according. They did not release my money yet ~$2200 and struggling every day 2-3 hours with the supervisors, promised Monday through Friday, everyday promised they will contact with me within 2 hours after that they don’t pick the call and didn’t reply any emails. Already described every single day struggling with financial difficulties with paying bills. After July 04 until today July 14 the money still on hold.

The whole experience was bad. The automated system was extremely difficult and frustrating to deal with. Nuvei was good but FDGL is terrible to deal with. It took 4-5 times to get through to them. i could not understand most of them and they were not very helpful until they wanted me to pay out the lease that i never signed? I will not recommend this service to anyone. Never have i had so much difficulty in my life. Feel free to call me if more details are needed. Very disappointed

Nuvei was used to verify a payment. They called and marked it urgent. Then when I tried to call back, my call was rejected. Then, they used a phone number I never gave them which forced me to explain some matters that were private to me, putting me in an uncomfortable position. When I asked how they got it, they just said it was a public record. It was unprofessional in my opinion and was very upsetting to me. I have heard they have used phone numbers where the person had moved out for months. I finally got through and straightened this out, but I had a bad experience with them and wouldn't recommend them.

On June 18th, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., my mother received a message on her cell phone, from the number 00351966385736, in which the person pretended to be me, claiming that the cell phone had broken down and that he was using that cell phone contact until the problem was resolved.
4 messages requesting urgent payment to the entity 50410 - SAFECHARGE LIMITED, owned by NUVEI Limited, for a total amount of 5141.00 Euros, followed. Payments have been made.
This fraudulent practice has been in place at least since 2023. Complaints to the banks and authorities have been filed.
Update 08/06/25:
I did send the details to your email only to receive an empty answer where i am advised to proceed the investigation with the authorities and banks. I must reinstate that the money was sent to you and you are the ones holding it, thus i expect a better and active answer from your side and not a bare minimum care.

This is the worst business I had to deal with! I had been their customer for more than 10 years and when my business went down and has to be shutdown, I called them to cancel the credit card processing service. After giving me such a hard time and kept sending me from one department to another for over 1 hour on the phone, they said I have to pay $395 cancelation fee!! Total unjustified rip-off! Bad business! DO NO WORK with this company.

Stay away if you dont want to loose money. Had an account with them since 2019 but my business was being charge almost $575 when my business is temporary closed. Also be careful with many kinds of fee. That is nightmare for me.

I wouldn't recommend them. The sales team is pushy to sell the product and then pass you off to a customer service you can never reach. I had issues with the password on the POS system that at some point, I couldn't log in and customer service was never avaiable so I could never do anything with changing my menu items or status of things. It stated it would charge tax and didn't so I lost tax but pay tax in Canada. Then one month I received $120 in fees when I hadn't even made any sales? Then I got a notice from collections stating I owed $110.00 but again most people, I was telling them to e-transfer me because this was simply not working properly. I could never access my NUVEI dashboard and was always referred to a customer service that never answered phones or had extra long wait times. How is this even efficient for businesses. I hadn't used the machine in 6 months and wanted to send it back and still no answer. I don't understand why I can't access my own pos machine, change my own password, and manage my own account. It is all managed from them AND they literally sent my bank account into a -$!80 in fees when I hadn't even been using it. I continuously was getting charged NSF fees. I understand the POS rental but what other fees am I being charged. POS rental was supposed to be $30 a month so why the higher charges every month? I was not making sales. Either way, initially i found them easy to set up but then their POS locked me out and I couldn't even adapt it to me or my business and was constantly told by sales to contact a customer service who never answered emails or phone or was unavailable. I will be choosing square. Reliability works two ways in a business, as does trust. I do not trust them to work for me when I need it. I also don't trust the system to NOT lock me out continuously. Not good if you are the owner of a business and can't manage your own POS. I can't even read the merchant ID number on the back of the machine which was injected November 2024.

Will be switching back to square. I thought the fees were lower but they add fees for reporting without contacting you(29.99 per month). Constant problems posting batches, was supposed to be with 24 hours but is actually once a week. Information about transactions is limited and difficult to reconcile. Do not use!

We needed to close out the Nuvei account because the shopping cart we had been working with for over 15 years, gave us 45 days notice they were going out of business 1shoppingcart - and therefore the gateway and Nuvei had to be closed. They want to charge us $395 to close out the account? That's ridiculous! We've have been loyal customers for years - and that is how they reward loyalty! Nuvei SHAME ON YOU.

I’m absolutely shocked and disappointed by how Nuvei handled my account. I offer a 100% legitimate 30-day free trial, just like thousands of other businesses out there. But Nuvei decided to shut down my account, claiming I violated some vague “Negative Option Billing” policy – just because I charge customers AFTER the free trial ends unless they cancel. That’s the ENTIRE POINT of a free trial.
According to Nuvei, if a customer doesn’t cancel, that’s somehow a problem? Isn’t that how Netflix, Spotify, and every subscription business works? Instead of supporting a growing business, they punished me for following a common, well-understood billing model.
To make it worse, they cited a "negative balance" as part of their reasoning – which makes no sense, because offering a trial period shouldn't be confused with shady billing. I run an honest business, and they just pulled the plug without so much as a real conversation. No warning. No attempt to understand. Just CLOSED.
This shows they don't support entrepreneurs trying to offer value before charging. If you're building a subscription-based service, run the other way. There are WAY better, more supportive, and transparent payment processors out there who won’t treat you like a scammer for giving customers a risk-free trial.
🚫 Free trial not even processed by Nuvei – and they STILL canceled me
🚫 Nuvei is NOT small-business friendly
🚫 They DO NOT support innovation
🚫 They WILL cancel you without warning
Do yourself a favor – avoid Nuvei at all costs.
