Never was able to upload our customer…

Never was able to upload our customer files from Zoho or our CRM. We are a software company and have implementation specialists. We told the sales rep this was a deal breaker and was told they would get it to work shortly after we signed up.. We were going to do month to month starting Dec 5th but, the rep talked our president into a 1 year contract. He Slid a no refunds clause in there. President signed contract on Dec 5th. Paid for the whole year. All of the sudden they wouldn't help me import our data unless we paid for implementation. Kept getting errors on account name. Asked for a full refund on Dec 10 verbally and Dec 15th in email format. They refuse to refund our money to this day. Still billing us and we had to go back to Zoho on Dec 20th or we wouldn't have had a CRM the past 2 months to use. Would not recommend this CRM company to any business at this point. Your reply is dishonest as you have refunded several customers. Also your sales rep and manager are aware of the errors and we were told that they would not help us when we called In to support as we didn't purchase an implementation pkgs. We will keep filing complaints and dispute charges ongoing. There is also two ongoing complaints with the BBB.

After reviewing the situation internally, we could not find any submitted support ticket related to the import issue. Our team did request additional technical information in order to investigate the errors you mentioned, but we did not receive the requested details. Without the necessary files, logs, or clarification on the error messages, it is not possible to properly diagnose or resolve an import problem.

Data import from other systems (including CRM platforms) is possible in Odoo using standard import tools. We also provide detailed documentation and tutorials explaining the import process, file structure, and common validation rules. When errors occur (for example on account name formatting), they are typically linked to file structure or field mapping and can be resolved once the relevant information is provided.

Regarding refunds, Odoo is a software subscription service. Once access to the platform has been granted and the subscription activated, it cannot be “returned” like a physical product. Subscriptions can be stopped according to contractual terms, but refunds are not part of our policy once the service period has started.

If you would like to resume the import investigation, we remain available, provided the requested information is submitted so the case can be reviewed factually.

Company Data Base Stolen

After decided not precede with the accountant, they remove our access to our company database on Odoo. After asking them to give us the admin several times, they never did.
After almost a week of contacting Odoo, by chat (only), they decided that the accountant create the database so it belongs to them not to the company, leaving us without "our" database. Basically we were stole and they collaborate with it.
Very difficult to communicate with the company by chat, in cases like this, you got F***** and you have no other options. I do not recommend! It's very risky!

Access rights to an Odoo database are legally tied to the account and subscription under which the database was created. If a third party (such as an accountant or partner) creates and subscribes to a database in their own name, they are considered the contractual owner of that environment. In such cases, Odoo cannot transfer administrative ownership to another party without proper authorization, as this would violate data protection and contractual regulations.

We understand how frustrating this situation can be. However, Odoo does not “collaborate” in taking control of a company’s data. We are bound to follow the contractual and legal framework under which the database was created. In situations like this, the resolution typically requires agreement between the company and the original subscriber (the accountant), or formal documentation proving rightful ownership.

If you would like us to review the case again, we invite you to provide the database name and relevant details to legal@odoo.com so we can verify the situation carefully.

Quick and diligent response

Felix did a great job supporting us during the emergency we originated a mismatch in the product information when we imported incorrectly a Product Db, operation was halted He responded quickly and was very diligent in providing the solution and training me how to act in future similar events.

Invest in a better software and support team

It is not a bad ERP system until it is not and forget about ever getting help from their “support” team. They take weeks at least only to tell you “we are working on it”. In my case my problems do not come from a personalized module, just their normal accounting module. Also if you pay monthly and you are late even by day (and a long term customer) expect to have your subscription cancelled even though payment has gone through corrrectly days before.

When choosing a monthly payment plan, there is indeed a higher risk of a payment being late. In such cases, the database is not lost or deleted, it is simply temporarily locked until the situation is regularized. This rule applies equally to all customers, whether new or long-term, as we use a single, consistent billing system for everyone.

To avoid interruptions, we recommend:

- Activating automatic payments
- Or switching to a yearly subscription, which allows a single payment per year and removes monthly constraints.

Support response times
Regarding support, response time can vary depending on the complexity of the issue. Some requests can be solved very quickly, while others require deeper investigation. An issue may originate from an Odoo module itself, but it can also be linked to a specific configuration or setup. In all cases, our support team first needs to fully understand what happened before applying the correct fix. This investigation step is essential to ensure a proper and lasting solution.

Unacceptable Support Response Time

After 2 weeks of waiting, we finally received a response regarding a critical issue with our production inventory system. By that time, we had already been forced to resolve the problem using external specialists at additional cost.
What's the purpose of advertising support services if they provide virtually no value when needed? This isn't just poor support - it's completely unacceptable for a business-critical system.
As we clearly described in our initial contact, the issue wasn't with our system configuration. Your own update service on your website was malfunctioning, repeatedly sending us test versions instead of the production update we needed - even after multiple attempts.
For an enterprise software provider, this level of support is simply inadequate. Businesses relying on your systems for daily operations deserve better.

Without those details, it’s difficult for us to fully assess the situation. however, we can already clarify an important point: in the majority of cases where response or resolution times are longer, this is related to on-premise hosting. In such setups, our teams have limited visibility and access, which restricts how quickly we can diagnose and intervene compared to Odoo-hosted environments. Understanding fully the set-up requires also much more back-and-forth communication with the client.

Additionally, even when an issue is reported as not being related to system configuration, our teams are still required to perform a complete investigation to ensure no configuration, environment, or dependency has been overlooked. This is essential to avoid wrong assumptions and to provide a reliable resolution.

For customers hosted on Odoo Online or Odoo.sh, our teams can typically act much faster as we have the option to directly access the infrastructure and update mechanisms.

We are sorry that you had to involve external specialists and that this situation impacted your operations. If you’re willing to share more details (such as hosting type or ticket reference), we would be glad to review the case more thoroughly.

Predatory and misleading pricing practices

The initial experience with Odoo sales was positive — they offered discounts and answered questions clearly. However, once we subscribed, the experience changed completely.

Responses became cold and unhelpful, pricing felt predatory, and invoices were unclear and click-bait in nature. We were also faced with constant threats of subscription cancellation, which creates unnecessary pressure rather than a supportive customer relationship.

In our case, a few clicks in the system resulted in an invoice for several thousand euros for a five-year subscription. We did not use this subscription at all. Based on my experience with every vendor in software industry, accidental subscriptions are usually refunded promptly, but no flexibility was shown here.

Unfortunately, we are now locked into this contract for the next five years, which makes the overall experience even more frustrating.

After checking the contract history, we can confirm that the contract duration was chosen at the time of subscription, with payment due upfront as specified in the quotation and contractual terms. It appears there may have been a misunderstanding regarding this upfront payment mechanism. In addition, users were added to the subscription after activation, which automatically resulted in a pricing adjustment.

We also observed that the database invoices remained unpaid for several months. This is the reason why payment reminders were sent and why the communication may have felt more insistent. These follow-ups are part of a standard process to ensure continuity of service and avoid service interruption, not an attempt to create pressure.

Regarding refunds, subscriptions that are confirmed and activated follow the contractual conditions agreed upon at purchase. While we understand your frustration, we did not identify an accidental subscription from a contractual standpoint, which is why a refund could not be granted.

We remain available to clarify any remaining questions, review options going forward, and help ensure the setup and usage of Odoo better meet your needs if you wish to continue.

Excellent service

Although, bugs happen, the support team is always able to serve me adequately. There never was a problem that they couldn't solve even if it can sometimes take a few days depending on their workload.

I’ve been using Odoo for 3 years now…

I’ve been using Odoo for 3 years now for our small company, primarily for invoicing. The system provides exactly what we need—no less, no more—and the free plan works great for us. It’s reliable, simple, and covers all the essential invoicing features.

My only suggestion would be to enhance the invoicing system with more features while keeping the interface simple for small companies like ours. For example, it would be useful to have the option to customize invoice numbering—like automatically assigning a letter per customer along with the invoice number—so customers cannot tell how many invoices we issue between theirs.

Overall, Odoo has been a great solution for our needs, and I would recommend it to other small businesses looking for an easy, effective invoicing system.

Excellent support!

Myli was fantastic with the support I requred. The support was very patient and clear. I had misconfigured something and it was quickly identified and a clear plan was presented to me to correct it. It's really nice to have support like this available.

the product is extremely powerful and support is fantastic

the product is extremely powerful, however as an amateur one occasionnaly runs into problems . their support is just amazing. 80% of the time a person is available via chat to help you out in the most helpful way. i managed to solve all my problems so far. Myli was fantastic in thinking throuhg the problem with me and gave a really good suggestion to fix another problem.
