First time hiking and wild camping - brilliant gateway to the world

Just returned from the Brecon Beacons on a trip with Odyssey.
For context; I am very experienced in general sport and fitness but I have absolutely zero experience in hiking, wild camping or anything similar such as bushcraft.
I signed up to this as a challenge to (a) get me out of my comfort zone and (b) learn how to go about these things in a safe environment so that I can start hiking and wild camping on my own. Both objectives were 100% met and I had an amazing time. The whole experience was a lot of fun (despite the miles and altitude!) and this was mainly down to how well the team organised everything.
I can't recommend Odyssey enough to be honest and I am certainly going to look at the future challenges they set up with a view to getting involved again.

Fabulous three days hiking

Fabulous three days and extremely well organised by a trio of brothers who motivated and supported the lovely group of people also trekking across the Brecon Beacons . We trained hard. We were the oldest finishers of the trip , and the last ones back but hey at 75 and 57 we loved it . We usually bike but enjoyed hiking for a change . Will we be back ? . Absolutely 100%. Good to push ourselves out of comfort zone . Loved the making food and a cuppa on the move and camping aspects too. Thanks guys.

I didn't complete the trek

I didn't complete the trek. I didn't even complete day one. And I still absolutely loved it. Because this is what I needed to make me realise that I HAVE to look after myself better and HAVE to take on some inner challenges before taking on these external challenges. This is a gruelling, ardous test of will and a physical capabilities. The Brecon Beacons are beautiful, and harrowing. The route is amazing, and awful. The team behind it, are brilliant. You always felt in safe hands as these boys know the terrain and have all the army knowledge to keep you safe. But they also care and know if you need a chat or a lift. I will be back. But I'll be learning to map read first, hiking training and gym fitness for weeks in advance to prepare, and toughening up my feet! Its a great journey, adventure, and so inspiring to see all of those who did complete it. Definitely humbled me to a place where I will come back stronger. So thank you Lads. See you next time (perhaps not the winter one though!)

Great Experience & People

I’d been looking forward to this event since meeting the Odyssey fan at the NEC Outdoors Expo, and it lived up to expectations. The route, support team and other participants made for a great time across the three days. Although physically and mentally challenging, the route progression and terrain made it possible for most to finish. I’m glad I trained for the event and put proper thought into what went in my pack. Congrats and thanks to Steve and the Odyssey team for a successful first event!

Brecon Odyssey event…

Having just completed the Odyssey event over the Brecon Beacons this weekend, it has to be one of the best things that I’ve ever done. Although my legs and feet are hurting like hell today, it was well worth it and a proper challenge for even the most experienced..

With breath taking views, challenging climbs, and lovely Welsh weather (for a change) it had it all.

The group I was with I have to say were fantastic, lots of laughs had and friends made for life.

Thanks to Adam, Steve, Chris and the Odyssey support team for organising such a great event!

Iwould definitely recommend their events to anyone who has an interest in rucking, hiking, outdoors, survival skills etc. Cheers boys👊

One lesson I have learnt from the treck is the need for good fitting and well worn foot wear at the start. Foot care is very important on an event like this, and I will not be making the same mistake again🥾🥾

See you next time😎

Smashing weekend

Smashing weekend! The event was well organised especially considering it was the teams first event of this type. The Brecon Beacons was a beautiful place for a tough hiking experience. I attended solo, but I was made to feel part of the team straight away. Some sections were tough mentally and physically, but after this weekend I feel confident in my abilities! I am looking foreward to attending the future events. Thank you for the experience

Had an amazing weekend with these guys

Had an amazing weekend with these guys. I went on my own and the atmosphere was really friendly. I met some great people who I would now consider friends. The brothers who run Odyssey are lovely lads who know their stuff. They were always on hand for a chat and they really went out of their way to make sure everyone was OK. If you’re after a bit of an adventure with like minded people, I would highly recommend Odyssey.

Awesome weekend with Odyssey Series in…

Awesome weekend with Odyssey Series in the Beacons this weekend. Everything went smoothly and the organisation was excellent. Communication before the event was spot on so nothing was left to chance. Others preparing for an event such as this need to realise they’ll be self sufficient so map reading skills in conjunction with GPS would be essential. Everybody I spoke to had an amazing time apart from “midgie-fest” Friday night but that’s completely out of the organisers hands. Would I go with Odyssey again? Absolutely.
