Dear Scocoku
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand that the pipe replacement project has been disruptive, and we acknowledge the inconvenience this may have caused.
However, it is important to point out that you are not our direct client, but rather a resident in the building. Our contract is with the property owners' association, and the project was carried out according to the plans that the residents themselves voted on and approved at a general meeting. While we understand the impact the project has had on your daily life, this is unfortunately part of living in a shared property where renovation projects can affect all residents.
Regarding the delays, we would like to clarify that they were caused by two factors. Firstly, it was discovered that there were hazardous materials in the form of asbestos in the tile adhesive in many apartments. This was an unforeseen issue as it had not been identified in the original project documentation. Secondly, further delays occurred when another resident independently removed tiles, which caused serious asbestos contamination throughout the stairwell. This contamination required immediate intervention by an environmental consultancy firm to take asbestos samples and have them analyzed at an accredited laboratory. Based on the analyses, it was necessary to carefully plan and handle the additional environmental work to protect both workers and residents.
All delays caused by the asbestos work were communicated promptly to the property owners’ association through regular information letters to ensure everyone was kept informed. The delays were unavoidable and necessary to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
We would also like to emphasize that the property owners’ association, who is our direct client, has expressed full satisfaction with the completed work, as has their advisor, who has praised our handling of the project.
While we appreciate your feedback, we feel it is important to highlight that the overall project context and the communication between us and the property owners’ association may not have been fully visible from your perspective as a resident.
If you have further concerns, we are, of course, happy to discuss them, please feel free to reach out to us at vvs@oeens.dk
Kind regards,
Øens VVS
