Open Law & specifically Chloe have been outstanding throughout the duration of my house purchase. She is fast to respond to any questions and explains everything thoroughly, and was the key reason my house purchase went through so quickly. Every member of staff I dealt with (Courtney,Kim,Linzi,Kim,Sophie and Trish) was always courteous,unfailingly helpful and prompt. The whole conveyancing process was very smooth and I would have no hesitation in recommending Open Law.

Donna and Harriet in the office of Lukes Team were lovely to deal and it was possible to get hold of them via the phone when needed which is a huge plus - BUT as a whole the experience was terrible and the sale took 6 months and involved myself and the purchaser having deal between ourselves to get anything chased up. Had we not done this the sale would have definitely fallen through.

If I had read the reviews on here before engaging them I would never have put myself through this - as the bad reviews are pretty much what I experienced. Delay Delay - nothing pro-active - but they are cheap so I guess you get what you pay for .....

I recently instructed Open Law for a property sale, recommended by my estate agent. Initially, the process seemed straightforward, but after raising legitimate concerns about how my personal data (such as bank statements and ID) would be handled, the firm decided to close my file without fully addressing my questions about data protection and privacy. I will be reporting this to the ICO.

While I understand the need for due diligence in legal processes, I expected clearer communication and transparency around data security, especially in compliance with GDPR. Unfortunately, the decision to close my file came abruptly, leaving me with the impression that they were unwilling to engage with my reasonable queries.

If privacy and data handling are important to you, I would advise asking detailed questions early on. I felt my concerns were not taken seriously, which resulted in a negative experience overall.

I would like to thank Kim's team, particularly Courtney and Linzi for their help and support during a difficult and emotional time for me when selling my mum's house.
The whole process has run so smoothly and has been stress free thanks to their hard work and professionalism.

Kim’s team at Open Law were amazing when they sold my property for me and when they carried out all procedures for buying my new home which were completed today. They were extremely professional, always willing to listen, always supportive even during difficult times, and always available with helpful advice and to assist with difficult choices.

I would highly recommend this firm for their professionalism, approachability and speed. From start to finish they were swift, I was kept up to date throughout the transaction, and they always answered the phone and emails. Could not recommend enough!

I was very wary of the conveyancing process after a really bad experience when we last purchased a house but Open Law were worlds apart from the last solicitors we used. Kim and her team are great at responding to queries and have really helped us through the process as both the sale of our house and the purchase of our new house were private sales, so we didn't have the intermediary of an estate agent to help. Our house sale fell through once due to a break in our buyer's chain, and Kim was really supportive and as soon as we had another buyer she worked hard to get the sale through quickly to meet deadlines that we had in our personal lives. I wouldn't hesitate to use Open Law again, and I'd be asking for Kim's team team again if I did!

Update: well, they turned my experience around via a very professional, friendly and experienced solicitor whose tenacity with the other side and communication with me helped very much in the later stages of a very stressful sale. It took a long time due to complications, but I felt supported and I’m happy to change my rating from one to four stars. I would recommend them now given the changes they made.
Original: Not impressed. They ask for the same info over and over again, don't read emails properly, different person every time they email me, and they have never called me instead to clarify anything. Still absolutely no idea when I will get a completion date. Very stressful and I can't honestly recommend them.

What can we say, Kim and her team were fantastic in dealing with our recent house purchase. Should've been very quick and straightforward but we and they were hampered by the very poor attitude and lack of communication from the sellers solicitor (well known firm in Huddersfield). Despite this Kim and her team worked tirelessly and sometimes late into the night and at weekends to ensure the purchase was completed as quickly as possible. Amazingly they got it to completion in 4 weeks. We cant thank them enough and we very happily recommend them to anybody looking for a conveyancing team with a great attitude and willingness to go that extra mile for their clients.

Hollie was extremely helpful, as were the other staff that helped in her rare absence. Hollie is also extremely kind and understanding, and made me feel at ease with my first house sale. She made it seem very easy! Very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing, Hollie and the members in her team have been working with us for just over a year and each time have done an outstanding job. Unfortunately our experience with trying to move home hasn’t been the quickest but Hollie and team have done everything they can and more. Would recommend them to the world if I could. Thank you
