The treatment I received both at pre op assessment and on day of op was exceptional. Efficient, thorough and speedy. Absolutely no problems. Very impressed.

A piece of my original lens was left in my eye during replacement surgery on March 3rd.
In my follow up on March 12th I was told this was noted by opthamologist but not mentioned to me. It was suggested I see mr Ball and I thought this was routine.
This was not therefore arranged until April 12th as was not raised as urgent.
On 12th April Mr Ball saw the retained lens and arranged to have it operated on asap - was done on 14th. He told me this should have been brought to his attention on March 12th but was not.
The removed was done well and all the staff were attentive and helpful but I had a retained lens in my eye for a month without it being dealt with.
During that time my eye was uncomfortable and blurry and I was concerned that something more serious was happening but did not contact Optegra sooner as I assumed this would have been rectified quickly if it was.
Overall I would say your post op protocol needs tightening to ensure this does not happen again .

Staff were good, but the process was just rushed without any information about what was planned for the surgery and post surgery.
If you try call for info/support as a NHS patient the phone lines are busy if you unless you’re a private patient it gets redirected/prioritised better.
The day of surgery it was efficient, albeit seemed rushed almost like your a patient on a conveyer belt.
What is more frustrating is that there is little/no support post surgery (unless it's critical or considered an emergency). You're given the feeling or impression to try and not to contact the hospital for any after care questions (unless it’s super urgent or critical) so no point of contact for any small questions/worries, or concerns. You’re encouraged and advised to just wait for the opticians appointment instead (at 4wk after the surgery).
I know it's considered out patient procedure, but sadly, I came away with the feeling (as a NHS patient) undergoing cataract lens replacement, you just treated like you're on a conveyer belt. I must be clear the surgery procedure itself was was good and went well, and as I said the staff were great.
In summary, the process and feeling or lack of post-op support/service/advice from the hospital directly, is lacking. I.e once your surgery is done, bye - see your optician now. This is not helpful if you have any concerns and need to go back to the hepital, and not rely or wait on your optician (who can't do much anyway).
In my situation, Post-op, I am still facing after 2months of blurred edge/shimmery on one the outer side of my lens/vision. Plus of course the expected “halos” also, which I'm hoping will disappear as advised in coming months. I've had these symptoms sadly since week 2 to be honest, and they've not improved or changed much since
I will look to take advice on next steps/options, on what to help address the issues going into my 3rd month post op.
*UPDATE* I had to post this review again - I was emailed by Optegra to confirm my details as it's "under review", giving me 3 days time limit to provide details. This email went to the Junk folder, so that was not possible. The very limited window, and method they use is not fair, it only helps such companies/corporations against the reviewer, effectively resulting in muting/invalidating potential honest reviews (which aren't always positive in their view). Theres no way to reply, if the time period of 3 days is expired. Meaning the review has to posted all over again. Ridiculous!

Couldn't be happier with the results. Everyone in optegra couldn't of been more helpful and reassuring me as I was nervous. I put off getting my eyes done for months as I was frightened but there wasn't anything to be frightened of . Would recommend getting cataract done if needed. Woke up next day and my eye sight was marvellous first time in 35 years I haven't needed glasses
The staff were very friendly and made me feel at ease they were there to answer any questions I had to ask
The clinical staff were welcoming, informative and professional. I felt secure and cared for throughout.
Many people are nervous about surgical procedures, especially those involving the eyes, but there is absolutely no need for concern. Patients receive appropriate medications before going into the operating room and while there they are given full support throughout the surgery. The treatment is quick - one barely realises it has happened - painless with minimum discomfort. The improvement in sight is almost instant.
Extremely helpful and knowledgeable staff. Made to feel very welcome. Everything explained very clearly and the procedure was quick and painless. Eyesight much much better.
The surgery went well. Thanks to Dr Peter and his team
