Iwas given a referral for an upper GI

Iwas given a referral for an upper GI. I have called four times to schedule, and each time I got a different story and was told someone would call me back to schedule. Today I made a fifth call and was transferred multiple times to finally get it scheduled, and they are three months out to see the GI doctor for a consultation. I never had any of these issues with Everett Clinic and will be looking to find a new primary doctor at a different practice other than Optum.

POS Company that loves to deny meds because they would rather pay the high cost of a medical condition caused by the non approved med! I am now seeking an insurance company that does NOT use optum. Probably a bunch of Kennedy's sitting in a back room snorting coke and making medical decisions based on their high school degree.

Inconvenient

They sent meds that I didn't need and they sent way too much. I only signed up for the service and explained several times that I didn't need any refills and I had and to go to the post office it was not delivered to me. I thought I was picking up a package not my meds. Very inconvenient so I canceled the service

Had a refill to get at Wal-Mart…

Had a refill to get at Wal-Mart Neighborhood in Edmond OK.
In checking the Optum Perks site for a discount coupon, I found
One for $ 17.76. When I picked up the RX, the tech ran the coupon and said, I’m
sorry but its $ 25.76. This is the second time the Optum Perks was not accepted.

Why do they lie to the consumer? What’s the scam here? Beware of this app!

Strange call

I've contacted in the past and for the most part I've gotten the information I've needed. (Although about a year ago I called requesting for replacement cards and STILL never received them but whatever). Today however I called and I spoke with, I think her name was Jennifer. It was strange. She was nice I guess but she never really put me on hold, she would just say she needed to go look at something and would leave me in silence on the line for like 10 minutes and then I would eventually just start saying, "hello? Are you still there?" And then a minute later she'll respond and then she pretty much forgot what I was even calling for so I had to repeat myself. Then she again had to look into something and just silence for the longest time. And so again I said, "hello? Are you there?" And it had been like 5 or 7 minutes. I heard a distant mumbling so I just said, "ma'am I've been on 'hold' for a while, and I've got things to do so if this call is being recorded, I'm hanging up because there's no response and I need to go" and she didn't even respond to that. So I hung up. It was strange.

Yet again another complaint about OPTUM (United Healthcare)

Yet again, another bad Optum Review. This one is simple. They have an online portal for paying your bill. You put in the bill number and it asks you for money. However - it doesn't tell you how much is owed, or how much has already been paid. You have to guess. Is is $10 is it $100? Who knows? So, I wrote their customer service and asked them why it doesn't show the amount owed.. like every other website in the world. What's with the secrecy? Here's their response:

Hello,
I saw you reached out to us via CONTACT US regarding billing web.
When making payment online, your balance will not be reflective. For your bill, you will need to enter the amount for which you are paying. Patient balance is $XXXX. You can also call in and an agent will assist you with payment.
Thank you,

They are absolutely horrendous

They are absolutely horrendous! They’ve snatched money out of my account 3-4xs in a row when I’ve asked consistently and it’s been notated on my account to do the EZ Pay option! Every time I get my refills they charge full on when they know I’m using the ez pay! Then the managers (not all) but the last two Jenna and Darrin/Darryl and Indian sounding guy act so inept! They’ve had to do Authorization Reversals in past bc they took too much out and this past interaction was the same thing and the stupid manager Jenna kept giving me the run around and acting oblivious as to solving this issue when this was my 4th time encountering this very issue! I hate them! U shouldn’t have to go thru this every time for a freakin refill it’s ridiculous!

Horrible company

Horrible company. Never ending issues ordering. Constant phone tag and employees who will lie explaining an issue has been fixed just to get you off the phone.

Unreliable and unorganized

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I suffer from an autoimmune disease and am reliant on medication to live. Optum frequently declines my coverage for my medication without notice. When I call them to get it sorted and refilled, they spend hours passing you along to other departments and no one seems to know how to answer my questions. It’s sad how unreliable and difficult they are to deal with.

Never ending sagas

Terrible all around. Every so many months my info and prescription would be gone from the website or app which they require me to use to place an order for my specialty medication. They insist I call my physician to obtain a verbal order. Apparently they don’t understand how busy physicians already are and don’t need the stress of redoing work they’ve already done. My insurance/ care coordinator through my employee usually has to get involved to get the billing accurate too, so lots of people doing lots of extra work for these ignorant people.

Worst Pharmacy

My prescription was sent in a month ago. Every week for 3 weeks they said they would ship "Within a week." Week 4 a supervisor (Lynn) said it was in stock, would ship within 24-48 hours and they would personally call back with a tracking number. It didn't ship, they didn't call. Later in week 4 another supervisor (Mel) said it would for sure absolutley ship out no later than 5 days, be shipped overnight and on my porch in a week at the latest. For sure, promise. Week 5 I noticed online they canceled the order, did not ship. They say I have to start over now. I have yet to recieve the medicine nor have I recieved a refund. Everything they say turns out to be a lie. The only thing you can be sure of is that whatever they are saying is not true. Had they just said to begin with they wouldn't ship the order I could have gone somewhere else. If you enjoy calling the pharmacy and wasting hours of your time, if you want to go over a month without your medication, pay for nothing, be lied to then this is the pharmacy for you. They barely speak English and are unable to communicate anything beyond a very basic level. This is by far the worst pharmacy I've ever dealt with, which is saying something in a broken system.

Avoid at all Costs!

Given my chronic health condition, I've had to work with many pharmacies and medical business over the years. Until now I have never had the misfortune of working with a company so horribly incompetent as this one. They keep no records of previous forms or communication and you have to jump through a million automated hoops just to speak to a real person. You have to fill out a new prior authorization form each month when you refill your medication. Sometimes you have to fill out multiple because they somehow manage to lose them. This company is a complete joke. Avoid at all costs.

Incompetent and Dysfunctional

Optum rx is staffed by the most incompetent pharmacists and customer service representatives in the healthcare industry. I had several prescriptions sent to them because that is who my employer uses. However, my order was mishandled from the very start. After numerous phone calls to customer service representatives who have a "it's not my job" attitude, I decided to have them filled at a local pharmacy. This organization is simply dysfunctional and has no place in the American healthcare system.

BEWARE - Do not trust, always check your copay before.

Effudex cream, one tube $100 copay. From Mark Cuban Pharmacy identical cost = $16.50.

Optum is predatory, clearly selling meds under insurance for more than they pay for them.

Imagine, Mark Cuban Pharmacy sells it for $16.50 (it's generic) so that means that Optum is paying less than $8 for it. BEWARE. With GoodRx coupon at CVS = $38.24, and with Optum it's a CO-PAY? Not, it's THEFT.

Charged twice for the same prescription. AVOID THIS NIGHTMARE …

I used Optumrx through my United Healthcare account to order my prescriptions. This was the worst mistake I’ve made in a long time. The app made me pay for my prescription before they would ship it-so I paid with my credit card. Understandable, but 6 months after my order was shipped, I got an invoice for that in the mail. I’ve sent them a copy of my credit card statement showing the charge. And after weeks of calling and speaking to different people, finally someone told me they received my credit card statement and will remove it from my account-that it should be removed within 24 hours. Now, 4 days later it’s still on my account. I called today and after 7 minutes on the phone with a representative, she couldn’t pull up my account. Even after she asked for my name and DOB 3x. This is a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and use another pharmacy.
