Orico does not stand behind its warranty
I tried to get a replacement part for an SSHD case. One part was defective.
after several email exchanges they wrote back
"We are responsible for providing online technical support only, and unfortunately we are not able to offer after-sales service directly.
For warranty or replacement matters, we kindly advise you to contact the platform or retailer from which you purchased the product.
Thank you very much for your understanding and support. We wish you a pleasant day."
Sometimes, a product is defective, it happens. However, any reputable company will quickly correct any problems. Orico does not. I simply requested that they send the defective component. Apparently, putting a small part in a padded envelope and posting it is very difficult.
⚠️ Customer Warning about ORICO / Yottamaster ⚠️
I want to share my experience so others can avoid the same mistake.
I purchased a brand-new Yottamaster DM500 NAS in a sealed box. From day one, the device failed to recognize any hard drives. I contacted Yottamaster support starting on August 9, 2025, and later ORICO support (the parent company).
Despite being completely honest with them from the beginning — explaining that the product was new, unused, and bought through a one-time market vendor — both companies refused to take responsibility. Instead of offering real support, firmware, repair, or replacement, they kept sending me in circles and finally told me to “go back to the seller,” which is impossible.
This shows that ORICO / Yottamaster do not stand behind their products and do not care about customer support once they make the sale.
👉 My advice: do not buy Yottamaster or ORICO products. If something goes wrong, you will be left alone without help.
After considerable effort, I was refunded the cost of a defective Orico M2 enclosure that damaged my M2 card. However, the company has refused to replace the damaged card.
Their communication is poor and I recommend contacting them directly via email rather than their chat line.
I would advise against purchasing their products as they do not offer adequate support.
DEFECTIVE DEVICES!!! I bought an SSD from them. I did not open it for months because it was just supposed to be a backup and I relied a lot on their 5 year warranty guarantee. When I first used it, it had an EXTREMELY SLOW speed. I tested its write/read speed using write/read testing softwares, and it only yielded about 1% of the 500Mb/s read/write speed they claim on their product web page! Contacted their customer service support and they said that the speed would really lower when I have files in it which is false. Well, they are now sending a replacement after a very long and time-consuming tests I did with their customer service. I will update this review if the replacement is either a good quality replacement or still faulty.
I bought a ORICO Mac Mini docking station with a 1 TB SSD. My Mac Mini gave an error message that it could read the drive and I could not reformat it. I contacted tech support and they asked for a screen shot. I sent them the screen shot and never heard from them again. I asked to return the defective product and, again, no response. Buyer beware.
This shop is an absolute no-go! Not only outrageous support, but also fraudulent and dishonest! Please never buy anything there and certainly not via the AliExpress store! You will only be cheated from front to back! No deliveries, although they are supposed to have arrived, constant delays and dispatch with 1 or 2€ credit... What is this all about? I can only advise everyone to stay away from this business!
A Company whose so-called "Tech Support" neither acknowledges or responds to requests for Help - regardless of whether submitted by email direct, or via their own "WebForm" facility ------ After nearly FOUR WEEKS!!!!!
I bought a 7 port USB Hub from Orico, it became so hot when connected to my computer, the plastic parts began to melt. It sound a bit dramatic, but I was fearful it would catch fire. I have sent the company numerous emails over the course of a few weeks, but there were all ignored, hence why I am here writing this review. I would advise saving your time and money and buying from a reputable company.
I bought an ORICO PE20-1C-BK-BP HUB and I bought it with no warranty (because I'm in Iran and I can't use warranty) but it's been around 5 months since I bought it and I have had no problems using it ever since.
I bought an Orico 7 port USB 3 PCIe card, despite negative reviews. I should have taken note, it stopped working after just 2 days, Orico offered to replace it and refused a refund. I am not prepared to wait a month for delivery of the replacement so I insisted on a refund. Based on my experience I would advise everyone to steer well clear of Orico products.
Orico don’t honor warranty
Bought an Orico M.2. Nvme enclosure M2V01-C4 to store a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB disk.
The Enclosure stopped working during a Filetransfer and doesn't recognize the SSD anymore.
Orico did not honor warranty.
Don’t buy Orico.
Orico's drives don't work with the latest Mac OS.
Other manufacturers using JMicron chipsets such as Sabrent long ago updated drivers to fix this.
If you go to Orico's firmware downloads, it's confusing (no dates are listed for any of the updates) but after a long time looking you realise there's nothing.
I wrote to them about it and they could not commit to any date for an update.
I lost 4TB of data because of the error Orico enclosures give with Apple OS 12 Monterey.
Purchased a 4 bay docking station in 2019 and some months ago it stopped working. It was just outside the 18 month warrenty and considering that the world went into lockdow Orico would not take this into consideration. I thought given the circumstances Orico would have replaced it in good faith, During this time the docking station was not used as I use it for my work. Having said that I would have expected it to work for more than 18 months, I would not purchase Orico again and I would certainly not buy outside the EU as you have no rights at all.
