Not a good company

The drive was recovered, but customer service is not good. When you call, you’re never connected to anyone, just put on hold listening to music hoping someone will answer, but they never do.
They are hard to find. GPS takes you way down the street and again, if you try to call no one answers. No good directions on their website.
The front desk girl seems disconnected and seems like she does not like her job and wished she was someplace else. Hardly said a word and seemed like she was doing me a favor by waiting on me.
The company operates under three different names. Data Rescue, Donor Drives,LLC and Outsource Data Recovery.
I got an email that said my recovered data files were ready to be viewed and approved, so I logged into my account. There was nothing there, so I called, but no answer. I then sent them an email and the next day I got a response saying the email I got was a mistake, and to check back in a few more days.
I also asked for my data to be put on a 4TB internal drive and they put it on an external drive.
No, I will not go back if I have a drive problem again. They did the job, but generally suck at customer service and made me wonder if the job was going to really get done or if they were some fly by night outfit.

Amazing. What was thought to be lost was found. What more can I say? I actually have a couple more that need your attention.

AVOID

I don't recommend. You won't speak to a live person. The phone numbers are all bogus. I shipped my drive and requested to Alex Didek that he make sure it's 100% functioning and to replace the rom board. The drive was shipped back and it died 24 hours later. Cameron Schmickla replied that I send the drive back and pay again. I proposed they refund and we call it a wrap and they said no. I disputed the charge with my bank and the bank approved today January 20th, 2021. At least now I can purchase another drive. I would avoid this place at all cost due to the hassle, the poor communication, the unresponsiveness, their inability to talk on the telephone, and their very poor attitude towards customer service.

I have used Outsource data recovery…

I have used Outsource data recovery twice in the past year. The first was recovery of data from a flash drive that had separated from the USB plug They retrieved my data and set up a down load on line after payment was made. The second time was to recover data from an external hard drive (HDD Seagate) that had failed. I am glad to say they recovered my data, best buy was at a loss to help. The data was transferred to a new external hard drive, my biggest complaint is it was loaded on to HDD drive the same type drive that had failed, I feel that data should have been transferred to SSD, it is a faster more reliable storage. I would have been happy to pay the extra for that storage, now I will have to purchase a new SSD and transfer from the drive I just paid for. The other problem is the files are combined as one in some cases (two SD cards that were on the drive are now in 1 file I have to select every other picture to separate to original files there are at least 2000 pics in that file alone. It will be interesting to see how long it will take to get all the files back in order.

Amazing results

After my technical skills were exhausted trying to resurrect my brother’s failed hard drive I sent it to Outsource Data Recovery. Within 3 weeks I downloaded the files and I was impressed. All the image files and Outlook contacts and emails were intact. My brother is traveling so I uploaded all his photos, over ten years worth, to my Google drive, granted him access and he was “thrilled “. Needless to say, to all those out there that think your drive is failed try this service. Regards, Mike Patten, South Padre Island TX on behalf of my brain San Diego CA.

I'll leave out the offensive words

I'll leave out the offensive words. Its funny you have to mention that. This was without a doubt the most unpleasant business experience I have had for a long time. After checking the market for HD recovery I found $100-$200 and then out source on Ebay for $60 with the words HD recovery. I thought good price they must be trying to corner the market. So I ordered and waited a month to receive a piece of paper instructing me how to mail it in. Why not an email? I mailed HD in and waited. Then I received a email to proceed with standard or expedite. But there is this quote for $648 and I chat/text what is the $648? I just want the standard $60 to recover the data. This is just a few pictures on my wife's laptop. No response. Another email, same thing what is the $648? No response. And another repeat of that. No response. So I finally call and ask what is the $648, I just want the $60 fix. The person on the phone was Alex and his demeaner was calm but so frustrating because he would not listen to me. He kept directing the conversation back to policy. Explaining there is a difference between service and recovery in the amount charged. The ad says recovery for $60 but that switches to $648 for recovery and service is now $60. Confusing. He said that I ordered the $648 service and I did not. He tried to corner me and get me to admit that I did and it went back and forth until I had to leave for work. He reminded me of those people that harass people on late credit card payments. So it ended me without my hard drive and out $60 bucks. I have nothing to show for it. I daily check my credit card for that $648 charge which I will immediately dispute. This company falsely advertises its services with a clever bait and switch and then does the worse communication possible and then tops it with poor customer service resolution. I predict this company will not have a successful future.

The end product was fine, the experience was horrible

The end product was fine; however, I elected for a two week turnaround package. I was asked to pay much more money a couple of times to expedite things within the first few weeks of them receiving my media, which I declined as I felt two weeks would be fine. How wrong was I. After repeated follow-ups over the next couple of months and being told I could have no ETA, I was surprised to receive an email update 3 months later. They did reduce the price by about 40%, which helped, but that money is going right back out to an upset patient as we comp some of their ortho care.

I lost a drive containing system…

I lost a drive containing system profile data, documents and photos. My backups were out-of-date and so I contacted Outsource Data Recovery for help.

Outsource analyzed the drive and said that there was significant degradation. I agreed to have an attempt made to recover what they could.

The data they were able to recover had all the files I wanted and large portions of four partitions.

I am extremely satisfied with the results and would highly recommend Outsource Data Recovery in the future.

Outsource Data saved my photos

Outsource Data saved my photos. 500GB of photos and memories from my crippled external hard drive. I am SO ecstatic to get them back. The process was easy. I not only would, but have recommended them to friends in similar situation. Thanks so much!

i'm a SUCKER

they sucker you in with the $60 repair cost only to tell you that they have to open the drive in their clean room and then charge you a $99 upcharge , then after a few days they sent me another email saying we can't fix it but we can recover your data and its an additional $1297.
I believe that most of the reviews are written by their own staff because they are so one sided . i also believe that they take a look at the contents of the drive and base their price on what they see. If there is old pictures on it , or financial records , or maybe a college mid term report they may charge more. I'm sure a few people will pay for the recovery , I'm also sure that they make a lot of money on the $99 upcharge . They don't answer the phone even when using the extension provided in the email, they are very slow to respond to emails or chat . i went with this company because of the reviews only to find out that they were totally B.S . This is just my two cents, and my experience with outsource data recovery,

Laptop computer hard drive crash recovery

I have not received my recovered data yet, but I am very impressed by Outsource Data Recovery. Everyone I conversed with is very professional, personable, and very technically knowledgeable and able to explain things to me in a way that I can understand what I need to know even with my non-technical background. Thank you.
