How this company uses Trustpilot
See how their reviews and ratings are sourced, scored, and moderated.
I’ve had two bags - the first was great. The second has fallen apart pretty quickly.
The side pocket and the netting on the strap failed in under 6 months. The handle on the top failed at less than a year and after two there’s a hole in the bottom.
I didn’t register it but when I look at the exclusions in the warranty I suspect it wouldn’t have been covered anyway.
Honestly I’m pretty gutted because the first bag lasted well.
Lastly the Feefo reviews seem great but when you look you have to have had a product recently to get a feedback request. Which is why the trust pilot review score is so low by comparison as there’s a bunch of people complaining about durability

UPDATE: After some initial confusion, a sincere effort to resolve the situation appears to be in the works. In response to a professional gesture and prompt, clear communication, I have gladly amended my feedback.
Appreciate the offer, but I would be pleased to pay for this product.

This company seems unaware that the capital city of the NWT, Yellowknife, is fully served by Canada Post as well as a number of courier companies. They cancelled my order based on a vague, unclear rationale, and refused to respond to subsequent inquires for clarification. Very poor customer service, sadly. Would not recommend.

Ordered goods from Overboard and received confirmation invoice from them.
On arrival there was an item missing.
E-mailed sales at Overboard regarding this and have had no response.
Just wish I had read reviews on this company before ordering.
I do not like being treated with contempt, so I can't recommend this company.

I've had my trekdry 20l backpack for just over a year now, and my initial thoughts were that it was sturdy and waterproof to a great degree, however after a year of occasional use the product through up some issues.
The side pockets degrading fairly quickly, and with Overboard unable to provide a way to fix/repair these, they eventually became useless flappy things.
The general wear and tear of the bag itself, again degrading far too quickly for the price you paid for (£135) despite no more use than you would expect from an occasionally used outdoor rucksack. Buckles breaking, liner ripping, handle tearing. Ultimately it affected the waterproofing capabilities.
I will definitely be looking for alternatives with better durability, and although initially pleased, unfortunately left dissatisfied with the product.
I needed to find an appropriate waterproof backpack for my boating holiday quickly and was recommended OverBoard.
Not only is their website informative with clear descriptions of products and their key features, I just felt reassured that I was purchasing from a company that looked after it's customers. And sure enough, there was no delay in delivery as my 20L Waterproof Backpack arrived very quickly before my departure.
Just back from my trip, and I can confidently say that the backpack is of excellent quality compared to the cheaper gear I have used in the past bought on Ebay or Amazon – I will not hesitate to shop from OverBoard again.
There's no doubting the clever technology involved in the waterproof PVC roll-top backpacks but ... it is not tested for longevity and you will not see more than 18 months of use before it deteriorates.
Splitting and delamination occurs due to the regular temperature changes - down to -10 .. up to +25 - here in the UK. I wear my backpack 3 or 4 times a week, in all seasons. It is still less than 2 years old and has been patched 3 times now.
I would have given a glowing view of my backpack when new, but the Company will not honour their 'so called' 5 year warranty because they will - even with clear photographic evidence - ingore the fcats and put it down to "fair wear and tear".
A good idea .. a good product for a short time .. a complete waste of money in the longer term.
P.S. This is an UNCLAIMED profile, so do not expect anyone at Overboard to read it. That way they can sit back and languish in all the excellent paid Feefo reviews of their short term use products .. and ignore the reality.
Bought the pro-light backpack, used it once in boating in the UK and then put it in storage. Second time came to use it a few years later, while walking with it on my back, the back completely opened up, dropping all my gear including my expensive camera. Lucky I was not in the water when this happened. The glue/adhesive had completely come apart. The backapck is still in great condition other than the seam failure. Strangely nothing else was holding the bag together other than the glue, which seems like a very poor design. Would 100% avoid if you value your gear.

A 17 litre pannier bag..
The design of the clasps are not great, meaning one worked itself loose and fell off somewhere.
I contacted overboard hoping to buy a replacement clasp.
I received a reply telling me they do not have spares but would give me a 35% discount on a new bag ! That is around £36 for a 50p piece of plastic and a screw. Are you serious?
I will find another pannier bag company ( Altura probably) who have spare parts and therefore care for the environment. An Outrageous waste of the earths resources Overboard!
I used my 2 litre waist pack, that I bought a few months ago, in really heavy rain today. Put my phone, car key fob, small led head light and electronic weigh scales in (fishing trip). When I was finished, I had to pour the water out. So not keeping my valuables dry but actually submerging them in a "water proof" bag.
Recently bought a deck bag and a soft cooler bag. Really good value. The bottle opener on the cooler bag was missing so I messaged them and within 2 days it was delivered. Exceptional customer service ! Great kit. Will use again.
I was quite shocked to see the bad rating overboard has on trustpilot, I have the 20L classic overboard backpack and it is great. I have had it for a few years now and I use it for practically everything.
It is great for travelling. I have taken it all over. We did a sandbank walk with it in which we ended up with water up until our chest. Our very expensive camera was inside and not a drop of water touched it. We have taken it on safaris where everything has ended up covered in dust except whatever was inside the backpack. It is also really useful when you go to a beach or a lake or something like this. I used to always worry about leaving my belongings out of the water in case someone stole them, which stressed me out quite a bit. With the overboard we just bring the backpack with us to the water and let it float next to us knowing that our stuff is not going to get ruined. So far I have taken it to hot springs, the sea, lakes... and it has been perfect.
It's also a good size to take on a short European trip with Ryanair or Easyjet. Not standard size but you can really make it fit in their size requirements.
It is also great for commuting. If you carry a laptop with you it is really convenient not having to worry about putting a cover on the backpack when it starts raining. It fits everything I need for the day (lunch, laptop, notebook, jumper, etch) but without being a bulky backpack.
Basically a really good backpack for a very reasonable price. I would also say it is pretty durable since I have abused it quite a lot for the last few years and it is still as new. I would totally recommend.
The only negative is that it does not have compartments inside so it does make finding stuff on it a bit annoying sometimes. Other than that it's perfect.
I Bought a bag from them, was waiting a number of days before I chased to see where it was, once I contacted them they told me it was to heavy to send (aye right!) As I lived on the Isle of Lewis.
Poor company.
Very poor quality product despite the compelling claims
I have had a bag for 4.5 years but have only used it as a back pack when travelling on an aircraft, I have used it a handful of times and the seams are coming undone. The bag has had very light use with nothing more than a book and sunglasses as its contents, its been nowhere near water. Warranty is not worth having, even though I purchased this direct as I did not fill out a form there is nothing that can be done. Honestly a £10 bag from Sports direct would still be going. Please do not waste any money on this product. I have given them an opportunity to offer support but it's not forthcoming.
I've used Overboard Waterproof bags since 2016 and my 40l Original bag is still going strong.
Decided to get the 20l pro bag which has only lasted 8 month. Contacted Overboard regards warrenty and they say it is not due to the quality but my fault. I can tell you that this is rubbish. I can only imagine they have changed production somehow and quality has dropped massively. So that's the end of me getting Over boards bags. Good luck to you! You gonna need it. Compromise quality and it doesn't take long before you're history.
OK bags but not long-lasting and the warranty is pretty hopeless.
An outdoor, waterproof bag that has a five year warranty which excludes exposure to seawater and UV light.
After less than two years mine was badly faded and a zip had fallen apart.
It wasn't my first overboard bag but it will be my last.
Not worth the money, 2years and its worn out so your 5 yrs warrenty is 1/5, better of with ortlieb drybags will never buy overboard again and cant say verry little good abouth the brand/warrenty/afthersale service
Purchased a 20 litre waterproof backpack in 2021 and recently noticed some degrading near the top of the bag. Contacted Overboard and received a swift response and resolution. Luke from their customer service team was outstanding.
60l Pro sport overboard bag. The bag is great except if you want to use it as a ruck sack in which case the straps are way too long. I bought the medium size bag and apparently they only have one size across the three sizes of duffle bags. With the 60l dag fully shortened the bag hangs very low on your back making it uncomfortable to use. I've tired a knot in it to shorten but it looks terrible. Having messaged customer support I guess I'll have to sort this myself. My advice would be buy the cheaper bag without the useless shoulderstraps
My boyfriend purchased an OverBoard phone pouch a few months back for when he goes paddleboarding - unfortunately a few weeks back his case un-clipped from the paddleboard (completely his fault as he fell off the board and scrambled back on!)
We thought seeing as we were quite far out at sea we would never see the phone again. However, today it was found buried in the sand a few miles from where it was lost and still in the case! Phone was completely intact and still works! Fully recommend this phone case and cannot believe we got it back weeks after it had been lost at sea and is fully working!
