Spam in your mailbox, if you want it or not

I ordered two books, the order was fine.
The problem is the email spam i'm receiving from them. I didn't agree or sign up for their publicity/newsletter or what ever. I've asked them twice to take me of their list, and they've answered, just not acted upon it.

It's incredible a business doesn't respect this simple rule: don't spam your customers with this relentless 'BUY BUY BUY' emails when they didn't sign up for it.

Nothing to do about it apparently except sending yet an other email.

A Nice Place, But Not for Dining

A Nice Place, But Not for Dining. I have been a loyal customer of this bookstore/stationery shop/café for 11 years, even before its renovation. As a bookstore and stationery shop, it is wonderful and beautifully curated. However, as a café and restaurant, it has become a disaster.

Over the years, I have noticed a significant decline in the service quality. Recently, it took 40 minutes to serve me a salad, and when I mentioned it to the manager, she apologized and offered me a complimentary cappuccino. Today, however, was the final straw.

The staff is often young and inexperienced, but today’s experience was particularly frustrating. The waiter assigned to my table was drinking coffee and wandering around instead of attending to customers. After waiting 15 minutes without service, I went to the counter to order a salad and a Coca-Cola, only to be told that I needed to be served by the waiter. When I returned to my table, someone else had taken it. I found another table, and while the Coca-Cola arrived quickly, the salad did not. After waiting another 30 minutes, I asked the manager to check on my order, only to be told that it had been lost.

The manager explained that the waiter was new and that young people need opportunities to learn, which I understand. However, proper supervision is essential. Every time I visit, there are new, inexperienced staff members handling food carelessly, drinking coffee, and eating while working. It is a shame to see such a charming place become a source of frustration and wasted time.

After 11 years, I will not be returning. The manager offered to waive the cost of my drink, but I declined. I do not wish to owe anything to a place that has deteriorated so badly in service. I have also submitted a formal complaint, as the time I lost today cannot be recovered.

Helpful staff

The staff are always ready to help. Can't find a book, then it can be ordered. They also supported the school library.

Very nice people, professional, with lots of variety!

Very nice people, willing to help any way they can! Went to order a book that was not in their English section, it came within a week, in a perfect state and with a notification in my emails. Apart from that, it has a lot of variety and different genres. Totally recommend.

What? You actually read books?

Beautiful store, well stocked, lovely café, cool events, helpful and (virtually unknown in these times), knowledgeable staff. I suspect they even read themselves:)

Charlie and the chocolate factory assignment 10

I really enjoyed reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! The author, Roald Dahl, created a magical world with wonderful characters. I loved the story of Charlie Bucket and how he won a tour of the famous chocolate factory. The book has a great message about the importance of being kind and treating others well. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun and heartwarming story. I would give it five stars!

Hereby a complaint about providing…

Hereby a complaint about providing service to the regular customer and Executing Discrimination with oral and performing hands not to serve my coffee but to help a white person first then the dark customer.

Today 26-11-2022 between 12:30 and 13:00 I wanted to drink coffee and was waiting for a cup for 20 minutes and it is the intention that according to the arrangement at Paagman that you first have to sit on the spot but not yet coming! But if a white female person moves to the table, the employees will come to take her order and the lady has also indicated that I was first and that my order should be taken, but the female white service employee looks at me and says that he can just wait and still take the white person's order and then go to another table to take the white customers' order!

I could have the complaint recorded with the female coffee maker who made all the coffee, but it does not seem reliable to me with fellow colleagues because of the service employees around it.

Disgusting that the employees here work at the Fredrikhendriklaan The Hague that this is deliberately Discrimination carried out here and that the management HR does not have this properly screened.

De Paagman on the Fredrikhendriklaan The Hague should not receive a Royale as a customer and guest if deliberately has Discriminati performed here!!!

I love this shop

I love this shop, they also have an English book section and a delicious coffee corner with pastries.
the staff is nice and helpful as well.

bad delivery time

I was very happy that I could buy that comic book on Paagman. Because no one else had it. But I waited more than 2 months before it was delivered. I live inRotterdam and Paagman is in The Hague. So it should go in one week maximum!

Online usely not on time

Great people, online poor service
I tremendously appreciatie the knowledge and service of the staff, but get disappointed each time I use the online ordering when I don’t have the time to go to the shop to pick up a book. The delivery is not on time and always later than promised during ordering. This really spoils the pleasure of sending someone a book as a gift.

uitmuntend!

The sales person was capable, knowledgeable and very polite. I received the book the next day as expected. It was a very good experience and I will shop at Paagman for all my book needs in the Netherlands.

My complaint
