Husky 40 kit poor quality
I don’t like to leave low reviews, but I must say I am disappointed with the quality of the Husky 40 folding door kit. The instructions are minimal and do not cover big issues that can arise around not having the rail mm level, which can happen if a ceiling is slightly out. I had to work this out myself as support wasn’t there.
The fittings are poor quality and plastic, meaning they can twist quite easily and I had to buy a spare. Other Husky kits have moved onto metal fittings and wall mounted bottom pivots, which tells me this kit is outdated. It’s a lot of money to spend on a couple of pieces of folded steel and some cheap plastic fittings. I have it working but I wouldn’t recommend it.

The Husky40 however is a very long standing tried and well tested product, you are correct it has recently been changed to a new Huskyfold30 system with metal parts but that was not due to any quality issues, it was a change in the range of products we offer and the 40kg in the Husky had been replaced by a new Roomflex40 system that requires no bottom channel which we found from customer feedback people did not want as they wanted a seamless flow between room. We did speak on the phone regarding your issues and you kindly sent a video which was shared with our technical team, who advised the issues you had came across were due to the bottom channel of the system not being installed. The Husky40 system is supplied with and must be installed with the bottom channel. As mentioned above one of the reasons we replaced the system as customers prefer no channel in the floor. Please accept our apologies if you were disappointed in the instruction or help offered. i am pleased to hear you were able to resolve the issues and install the system successfully.

Item cost £7+ but then vat was added
Item cost £7+ but then vat was added. Postage was £6.00 and then vat was added to that also. So an item costing £7+ ended up costing over £16. Most traders now add vat to the price they advertise and, although I haven't checked current prices, £6 seems excessive for such a small item.
On the plus side delivery time was very good.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review and for the feedback. On the subject of the VAT, the website product pages do clearly state "Excl VAT" the next page displays the price including VAT. The carriage charges on the website are predetermined by postcode not by item, so i can understand when you are only ordering a small part the carriage may seem excessive, however to speed up delivery we try to send via DPD where we can rather than have a delay with Royal Mail and the carriage charge even on a small item is barley covered in the £6.00 costs.

Great product (Husky 100) which works really well. Instructions are comprehensive with downloadable .PDF drawings (even .dxf and .dwg files for importing into CAD software) and there's a great installation video available online. Very pleased with the product.

The replacement handle is ok
The replacement handle is ok, although the handle feels quite loose in its housing, so the castings are not to the highest standard. My old Henderson garage handle was of a higher quality and maybe 30 years old. It works fine however. The main problem was the communication. I got no immediate purchase confirmation until 3 days later when an email just said the order was “confirmed”, but nothjng about dispatch or arrival dates. After 6 days I contacted Henderson who said there were delays with Royal Mail. No tracking data was available. 7th day I finally got a a message from Royal Mail saying it had been collected, but no delivery date. I think the lesson is that Royal mail are very bad these days, but Henderson failed to confirm my purchase straight away and failed to give any notice of dispatch.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. I just wanted to respond to some of your points. Firstly on the confirmation and delivery. This has been explained on a telephone call but as your comments are public and quite negative i want to cover the points again, The order was placed on the 4th January 2025, which was a Saturday, our working hours are Monday to Friday, The order was confirmed to you on the Monday the 6th when we were back to work, that was 2-days not 3-days, under normal circumstance the order would have left us that day, however due to the snow we had there were a number of people unable to make it to the office that day, and the order left on the next working day Tuesday 7th January via Royal Mail First Class post. This was also explained when you called. As a rule we find Royal Mail to be quite good and most orders as you will see from numerous 5-star reviews below arrive promptly, however once the goods leave here then it is in the hands of Royal Mail and depends on your local service. Again, the adverse weather we experienced could have affected that. We do not send tracking for items sent in the mail as it is not possible unless we send signed for or special delivery, or via a carrier which would mean we would need to increase prices which we try our best to avoid. I can only apologise for the delay you experienced on this order. Regarding the quality of the handle, we have no other mention of this from customers, the lock handles we supply are a solution for a very old door, they are for pre-1992 doors so doors at least 33 years old. The majority of customers are pleased to be able to purchase a part for a door that old. We have not made or sold doors since 2008 however still offer a selection of spare parts, even for the pre-1992 doors to enable customer to repair rather than replace the whole door.

On our return to work on the 2nd January 2025 your order was processed and an order confirmation was sent showing a despatch date of the 10th January, you were also advised by email that day that the system is not stock and is made to order with a 5-7 working day lead time. We have however failed on that as the order did not ship Friday as planned, i will speak to production and see what the hold up is and will get back to you via email today.

Apologies again for the extended delivery time, however we have corresponded since we advised that we hoped to have the handsets the next week to advise there had been a further delay. The delay is due to a supplier and also the fact that one delivery to us was lost by the carrier service, so more handsets had to be sent to be coded for the Henderson garage door systems. I will contact the supplier again today and will update you via email rather than on a public platform.

Great customer service from staff member identified the parts that were needed. Because the old component failed shortly before Christmas I received the replacements in time to allow me to make my bi-fold doors fully functional once more.
