Called in to receive help with my…

Called in to receive help with my mobile PC app as it would not let me sign-in, my computer app was no problem & this seems to be a recurring problem. Nevertheless the message comes on telling me up to 15 minutes wait time, forty minutes later still waiting. The absolute worst call-in centre ever. It's the same story every time. Extremely frustrating when you have to pay in excess of $130 annually only to receive this type of poor customer service.

No Name Mobile Positive Experience

I have had multiple experiences with multiple cell providers most recently, yes it cost me extra money to do that, but for me it is about having the best pre-paid provider with best customer account service (live), best coverage, great speed, and at the price I want to pay. Hands down it is No Name Mobile. I will search no more. Great job No Name Mobile! I tested you (and multiple others). You win! I have dual sims, one on the Bell network and the 2nd on Rogers. My preferred pre-paid provider if told to choose 1 only would be No Name Mobile. I'm extra fussy too.

Amazing reception and way cheaper than Virgin but....

*****Edited Dec 22, 2025*****
Today I get a notice that my "balance" will expire in February 2026. This was NOT what I was told when signing up. I was told to wait until your balance reaches the amount for one month and then use it. That is not the case. Be careful when signing up folks.

This review is for NONAME MOBILE, which is basically Pcmobile.
I did read the reviews on here before I switched to Noname mobile and here is my take on it.
Pros: Excellent reception, easy to port over my numbers, easy to get a hold of customer service and over $480.00 less than what I was paying Virgin Plus Mobile for two lines and no $75.00 activation fee.
Cons. The price of the actual plans. There is only one plan that you can buy the exact amount top up card. The $50.00 per month plan. All other plans will give you a "credit" in your account that you will NOT get refunded if you leave. So as of now, I am charged an extra $1.00 a month that I may or may not get back. That is the major con from this company. Also, you do not get a bill if needed for income tax.
Top up available $15.00 (30 day expiry), $25.00 (60 day exp.), $50.00 (60 day exp.), $100.00 (365 day exp.)

Summing it up, I'm really glad I switched over.

DO NOT TOP UP PC MOBILE

I suggest do not top up because you will never get back any overpayments when you cancel. Customer service I spoke to was very unhelpful. They denied me of my customer service rights to speak to higher-ups to resolve issues. He said it was their process, then it would suggest PC mobile taking money from customers. They have my credit card why they can't refund back the overpayment on the card. Clearly stealing money from the customer

This company commits fraud

This company commits fraud. They send me a message saying my automatic payments have expired and tell me to top up my account. Which I do. But then I check and my automatic payments DID go through. So every month I have to sit on the phone for hours, trying to get back the double charges. This has gone on for two years and they deliberately do not fix their system as they make so much profit off of double charging people. And when these inaccurate "top ups" are needed, they cut off my service in the meantime, even though the automatic payment went through. TWO YEARS!!!!!! And NO Customer Service whatsoever. The call centre agents can't even understand the problem, let alone find a solution. Corrupt company. Beware.

This is the second outage for me in…

This is the second outage for me in March. The first time they were not aware that there was one. I was the only one to tell them, took 5 days to fix. Now there is another. I can drive 8km from my house and phone works fine. Phoned them and spent an hour talking people that could not speak fluent english, and received the run around. I have received 2 calls from them asking the same questions over and over, name , address, phone number, have you shut phone off and back on....for me they have 24 hours to get it fixed, if not I'm jumping ship to go to Rogers. I have learned they indeed use Bell towers but PC is the LOWEST on the list of priorities.

I have been a PC Mobile customer for…

I have been a PC Mobile customer for about 10 years and have been relatively happy with the service (at least enough to not have switched providers ;-).
I am a prepaid customer and in November as my account was expiring (although not my balance), I topped up for (I thought) another 120 days. Turns out that the app has changed and now the options are $15 for 30 days, $25 for 60 days, $50 for 60 days (used to be 120 days) and $100 for 365 days. Although November has come and gone, I suspect I must have pressed the $50 for 60 days without due care and attention (the app defaults to that option); so I was surprised when I checked this past weekend and found I had only extended my expiry date by 60 days for twice the money!
In speaking with the PC Mobile customer support, I was able to get another 30 days 'til the expiry date with no increase in the balance of minutes available. Not good enough! There are other prepaid providers - my wife loves 7-11 SpeakOut

STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve never reached 20 GB in the two years I used another company. When I reached 20 GB, I loaded $55, and it lasted only ONE DAY (barely using, I have wifi at home)
Complete rip-off. They will take your money.

WARNING

WARNING: NEVER GET A PREPAID FROM PCmobile, you'll get ripped off big time. I just got screwed by PCmobile (Bell/Loblaws) prepaid (someone, please start a class-action on these weasels). They just keep your balance money after it expires (30 or 90 days) so you can never leave them without losing money. To keep your balance, you must top-up a minimum of $15.00 which never evens out after taxes, so you always have a balance greater then the exact amount owing. They then STEAL your balance aftre a few months and in my case, it was $23.78 on $21.47 owning one day after the expiry date. I then had to pay another $15 to take the suspension off. Another trick is to add $10 auto bill when your balance is $5 or less. You cannot manually apply your remaining expiring balance to your next payment which guarantees them millions in profits. I had to pay them in order to get a text message from them to confirm my account and phone number were moving to FIZZ mobile. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER get a PCmobile cell phone account (it's BELL/Loblaws after all). WHY IS THIS NOT ILLEGAL ! They literally STEAL YOUR MONEY and make millions.

New 29$ plan is great but I signed up for 100$, top up when I got the sim card and changed it to 15$ , but they already took the 100 which is useless because to get the deal I have to do auto allowance , they said they'd call me never did , can't even do a reverse through email , honestly customer service has been terrible , would suggest finding a better provider first as I'll probably quit this one when it expires due to this horrible experience , thanks for your time and hopefully you guys don't make the same mistake as I did .

Secondly, but more IMPORTANTLY…
ALAN, my agent, was incredibly helpful and if I may say, made this the best customer service I've ever experienced! He was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic which actually made our conversation FUN! I was even a bit sad that he helped us out so quickly because I was immensely enjoying our time spent conversing! lol

If I could I would give a 100 ⭐️ rating!

Ps… I bragged about it and Alan on all my social media platforms! THANK YOU PC MOBILE!

Running a Scam

TLDR; Don't go with this company. Use Koodo instead

As best I can tell, Pcmobile is running a scam and should be shut down.

The service is total garbage service and the company seems to employ deceptive business practices.

Here is my experience:

I am from the US wanting prepaid cell phone service in Canada. For 10$ I bought a SIM card from a local Maxi store, and activated my account on the web. They dinged my account for 30$. Although I was given an activation code, I was never told the account number and never got any confirming email.

When I go to place a call, I get a message that there is no value in my account. On the web, there is no way to log into my account.

I tried to download the iPhone app from the AppStore and was told that the app is not available to users in my geography. Wait a minute. I'm in Canada, using a Canadian service, and I can't download the app?

After an hour, I finally got through the customer service. They were able to push through the service, and it turns out it is 3G. This was not clear at all in the promotional.

These people are running a scam and should be shut down.

Update on 6 July 23: I signed up with koodomobile.ca. I did this in person at one of those stands at the mall. The service was immediately activated. I had all available services (phone, text, data), and I got an online login to manage my account. It was super simple and answer to my frustrations. with PCmobile. I can't speak to Koodo's coverage, but so far so good.
