Amazing Customer Service

Adam L. had an extremely quick response time, gave advice for smaller questions on top of clear instructions on where to go and what to do, and overall had the best customer service I have experienced yet after moving through 3 other hosting services. Server is also consistent and I have 0 doubt that in the future if i have questions they will be taken care of. Already recommended Pebble hosting to a few people having similar issues with minecraft hosting. Thank you!!

Amazing Support Experience!

We purchased three servers from…

We purchased three servers from PebbleHost. On 3rd February, we received an invoice, which we paid on 4th February. Later that afternoon, we were granted access to our servers. However, during the OS installation process, their support team informed us that there were some issues causing installation errors. Fortunately, a simple server reboot was enough to resolve this initial problem.

Once we gained access, we immediately encountered multiple issues. First, we were unable to update the operating system due to a GPG key error. The OS contained outdated GPG keys, so we had to hire a system administrator to fix the problem. After resolving this, we ran into another issue—adding an SSH key for passwordless authentication was not working. Again, our system administrator had to step in and resolve it.

Next, we discovered that a firewall was blocking certain ports, preventing us from changing the SSH port to a non-standard one. We contacted support at 9 PM, and after two hours, they responded, saying the issue had been escalated to a supervisor. An hour later, they claimed the problem was on our side.

We spent a day and a half troubleshooting why the firewall was blocking ports. We repeatedly provided logs to support, asking them to investigate, as we had never encountered such an issue with our previous hosting provider. We even pointed out that the OS installation was faulty, given that we had never faced these problems on a standard AlmaLinux installation before. Under normal circumstances, our setup processes run smoothly, yet with PebbleHost’s servers, every step resulted in errors—whether it was adding users, dealing with firewall restrictions, or updating the system. And this was on a fresh installation, before we had even configured anything ourselves.

After two days of frustration, wasted hours in back-and-forth communication with support, and additional expenses on a system administrator to diagnose these problems, we decided to cut our losses. We simply did not have the time or resources to continue troubleshooting a system that should have worked straight out of the box.

On the second day, support finally admitted that the issue stemmed from the OS installation but still insisted it was not their fault. However, this was their pre-installed operating system, which we had not modified in any way.

Beyond the technical issues, support response times were painfully slow. Even when marking tickets as high priority, we waited over two hours for a reply. Each time, support agents stated they had a small team and were overwhelmed, often escalating tickets to a “supervisor.” Yet, despite these supposed escalations, we always received responses from the same first-line support agent.

After everything, we requested a refund, as we had spent 1.5 days troubleshooting a faulty OS and had never been able to properly use the servers. PebbleHost refused to provide a full refund, offering only 70% back despite the fact that their service was unusable. We paid £450 for three servers, only to be told that a full refund was “unacceptable” and against their policies.

Conclusion:
We lost time, money, and patience. The OS installation was broken, support was slow and unhelpful, and despite acknowledging that the issue was with their OS, they refused to issue a fair refund. Avoid PebbleHost if you value your time and resources.
