As a Board member and trustee I found the Pennington Choices webinar last week really interesting and informative. It was great to hear from Barnsbury Housing Association about their practical experIence of a Pennington’s compliance audit.
The trainer kept the session engaging and informative, he was always happy to answer questions. providing clear and detailed explanations. I find HHSRS an interesting subject and very relevant to my role and having completed a more in depth course approximately 18 years ago it was good to have a refresher. the follow up links were also very useful.
Great compliance training session—clear, practical, and highly relevant to the role. It provided a strong refresher and expansion of knowledge around key legislation, including procurement and housing requirements, as well as reinforcing the importance of following correct processes and maintaining clear audit trails through evidence-based practice.
Stewart (Trainer) brought valuable industry experience and used relevant real-life cases to bring the material to life, making complex areas easier to understand and apply. This added real depth to the session and ensured the content was well-pitched to the audience, regardless of prior exposure.
Overall, a very worthwhile and informative course that strengthens understanding of responsibilities, liabilities, and good practice in a practical, applicable way.

We had a survey completed by Pennington Choices and I just wanted to say how impressed we were with Shakher Dass.
Not only was the report really thorough, but he also took the time to speak with me afterwards and talk everything through in detail. He remembered the property and all the issues straight away, which made a huge difference and showed how much care he puts into his work.
It’s been a stressful situation for us, and having someone take the time to explain things clearly and offer honest advice has been incredibly helpful.
Really grateful for his support — thank you!

Pennington Choices were commissioned by Hackney Council to inspect my property. My experience raises serious concerns about consistency, transparency, and data handling.
A surveyor attended my home in 2025, however:
no inspection report was ever provided
no findings were shared
no follow-up explanation was given
In April 2026 I received correspondence incorrectly branded as Flintshire County Council (a separate authority with no connection to my tenancy). A corrected version was later issued without explanation.
When I raised a complaint, I was told an apology text had been sent immediately. The message I received does not contain any apology or reference to an error.
I also submitted a Subject Access Request for the inspection data and photographs taken inside my home, which was redirected to the council rather than answered by the organisation that conducted the inspection.
Public reviews show a consistent split between:
4–5★ webinar and professional training users
predominantly 1★ residential users reporting missed visits, poor communication, and lack of follow-up
This raises concerns about the consistency of service quality between professional and resident-facing work.
This matter is subject to escalation via the Housing Ombudsman and ICO.
Response to Pennington Choices:Thank you for your response, but it fails to address the lack of transparency. You claim the 2025 visit was a "Stock Condition Survey," yet I have now received another survey letter just 5 months later. If you were transparent, you would admit the truth: the second survey was only triggered because I complained that your previous "fix"—scraping and painting over mould—failed to address the internal leakage causing the issue.By hiding behind "contractual arrangements" and "Data Controller" jargon to deny me access to photos of my own home, you are preventing me from seeing if the surveyor actually recorded the structural leak I reported. Sending generic survey letters instead of acknowledging a failed repair is a clear attempt to avoid accountability. This lack of honesty regarding the repetitive visits and the refusal to share data will be included in my escalation to the Housing Ombudsman and the ICO.

The Pennington Choices webinar provided a clear overview of how Awaab’s Law is being implemented, particularly the new time frames for handling damp and mould cases. I found the focus on the need for a cultural shift towards a more resident-centred approach especially useful.
It was helpful that the speakers acknowledged real challenges, such as access and communication issues and meeting strict deadlines, which made the session feel balanced and realistic.
Overall, it was informative and relevant, giving a good understanding of both the progress made and the challenges still facing the sector.

Pennington Choices recently delivered an Awaab’s Law awareness and compliance session, and it was extremely informative, well-structured, and highly relevant to current housing sector responsibilities.
The session was delivered in a clear and professional manner, breaking down the legal requirements of Awaab’s Law into practical, real-world expectations for landlords and housing providers. The presenters demonstrated strong subject knowledge and were able to explain complex regulatory obligations in a way that was easy to understand and directly applicable to day-to-day operational roles.
Particularly valuable was the focus on proactive damp and mould management, tenant safety, and organisational accountability. The session emphasised not only legal compliance but also the wider duty of care owed to residents, reinforcing the importance of timely investigations, effective communication, and robust record-keeping.
The training was engaging throughout, encouraging discussion and reflection on existing processes while offering practical guidance on how organisations can strengthen their approach ahead of the legislation coming fully into force.
Overall, this was a well-delivered and impactful session that provided both strategic insight and practical learning. I would highly recommend Pennington Choices for organisations seeking clear, professional guidance on Awaab’s Law compliance and best practice within the housing sector.

Despite the denial previously this company again chooses to disregard customers . This is the same company that said it wasn't them despite proof. And today they denied visiting my home despite cctv . All of which was recorded via s.a.r of contact. Any response unless a full and honest response will be added to the list of lies that accent homes already have . !

As part of CPD and a prompt for going back over things, I find Pennington's really useful. The webinars are always interesting, not overly taxing and the time between slides and additional information of a good time.
Thankfully this prompt is for BS9792 which is another self review.
The reminder that the RPEEPs is only for specified buildings also came at a good time as limited resources.
Good company and good standard of webinars/events. Highly recommended
