Customer service sucks. I ordered something to pick up at the store, went away for the long weekend and they cancelled my order. No notice!! Then they tell me I cannot get it for the same price! Great way to lose customers
Returns…
Very disappointed when I went to return clothing I purchased about $1000 worth of clothing and had to return $350 of it. I was four days late on my return within the 30 days so I got a credit note I really wish I could’ve got my money back. I spent $1000 and also the bathing suits that I bought that were now 30% off and because they weren’t the two week window they wouldn’t give me the discount, very disappointing and disheartening will try my best not to shop here in the future, although I do like the clothing

I have been a customer over 20 years with both Penningtons and Addition-Elle (when they had brick & mortar stores). As a long-time customer, I have found the clothing sizing has become a real problem for me. I am a petite-queen size - 5 ft 4 in - wear 24XP (3XP) pants but the recent purchases over the past 3-4 years have them fit very strange. They are good in the leg length. Their t-shirts have been changed radically into different classifications - I have usually worn size 2X and could safely order online as a store is not close to me at all. Not anymore. The last 30 days has seen me send back out of 4 items purchased 3 sent back for credit because the 2X is either too large or too small. The company also changed the branding of their t-shirts so the Girlfriend fit no longer fits at 2X - it's more like a 3X in sizing! I have found the Modern Fit a better close to 2X but longer than I want but no other alternatives other than Curvy Fit and 2X a bit big but 1X would be too small as I ordered and tried and had to send back. Their socks - are so tight in the ankles if my legs swell - they are a hard pass. Panties no longer last - they are cheaply made with flimsy cotton materials. I did order 2 boots that were on sale because I can no longer afford $200 or so a pair on a fixed income. One pair fit really well - one did not and am sending back. I have received my credited items back to my credit card and no problem. However, contacting Customer Service online - very little response and only one email and no other communications. The sizings on their bras has changed as well and they are the type that I cannot wear. Booking online for a bra fitting appointment and then phoning the closest store in South Edmonton to cancel - the store had no record of my bra fitting booked online. The staff have been helpful when I have called over the phone to check if they have the website code for sizing. I would say unfortunately that as a plus-size person who is older and have been a customer for over 20+ years, there is very few options for plus-sized clothing and items for my size. The one issue I have is that their clothing overall doesn't last as long as it used to.
broken winter boots
Penningtons- purchased winter boots at the end of September in time before my size sold out, I have big feet so have to plan ahead as many shoe shops don't hold many large sizes. By the end of December the right boot fell apart. Penningtons would NOT exchange, refund or admit a default in a pair of boots that lasted just 3 months. They claim their exchange policy is 60 days after purchase, fair enough but I would expect a $150.00 pair of boots to last longer then 3 months. Shame on you penningtons, this was not due to wear and tear this IMO was a fault. Its a shame that other stores do not offer wide leg wide fitting shoes as I would have shopped else where. Save ya money people and try find another store who has better aftercare for faulty goods.
Ref Ti Voglio 100% cotton Hipsters
Ref. Order: 54505355 - Dec 2023. For 6 Pixel Print Hipster Brief with Bow - ti Voglio. The quality of these Voglio hipsters have been steadily declining. The ones I got 7 years ago are still good. The more recent ones, 50% lower quality and so is the elastic, and bigger. This current order is horrid. The hipsters are huge, 75% thinner cotton than original Voglio, and the elastic so thin and stretched out, these panties are not going to last washing for 6 months!! Very disappointed.

The Reitmans group has had the monopoly on plus size clothing in Canada since before I was a teenager and, although the Additionelle brand showed some promise towards the delivery of (albeit expensive) more up-to-date styles and decent customer service/support, all stores were closed in the late 2010's and (nearly) all shopping was pushed online and eventually re-absorbed into the Pennington brand of the Reitman group (as it was when I was a teenager).
Now, if you order online, if your items aren't in stock THE DAY you order, they will quietly cancel your order and not let you know. If you dare to reach out to ask what's going on, you'll get the cancellation email of your order, your payment method will then be charged (only to be refunded 3 days later).
Contacting their chat support will lead to getting a price match on your old order but only if you order the items again and supply them with both the old and new order numbers. Essentially, you're told to do this entire process for them and that they have no ability to re-process the order even if all items are in stock as of today.
Plus sized individuals already have issues shopping online, this is made none-easier by the Reitman group who clearly don't even pretend to care about their clients because they know we have no other options to turn to locally. This entire feedback is by no means a reflection of the agent who assisted me and is entirely on the back of a terrible business model configured to take advantage of a marginalized community for the sake of greed.

Poor customer relations
I asked Pennintons on several occasions to cancel my order, reason being, I compiled a list of items that came to over 1200.00dollars, I made many attempts to tell Pennintons to cancel my order, the items I ordered were already on sale, then, I saw that Penningtons were offering an extra 60% off sale items, I ordered June 24th 2023, I got all kinds of responses, but not one customer service rep did as I requested, I should be entitled to the discount as it was applicable to my current order, plus my next pending order, by delaying, things I want are not in my size, I would advise people to cancel their orders or demand the 60% off.I warned Pennintons , that I will not accept the order or the pending one if they don't comply, never going to shop here again! We received damaged and unwearable…
We received damaged and unwearable item. Had all the packaging etc with us and tried to get a refund from the Lasalle store where we paid for the item and we were refused. They told us we had to Canada Post for some reason. Made absolutely no sense and they ripped off my 85 year old mother for $50-$60. Never going to a Pennington store ever again. They should be ashamed and you should NEVER shop there. Totally unprofessional rip off.
Your online system is brutal
Your online system is brutal. The chat help person was not helpful and I cancelled the order due to the frustration of not being able to change the shipping address, only billing address on your online system. Do you care that you are losing money from people who do not have a store nearby? Maybe not.
Very poor company
Very poor company! I sign up as a new customer for emails and supposedly told I will get 20% off my first purchase. I select a few items online to purchase and code doesn’t work. I get message saying code cannot be combined with other promotions. I call in to customer service, wait 10 minutes and end up with a customer service agent who could care less. I’m told my items were ‘branded’ and the code can’t be used. I go back to my original welcome email and nothing is said about ‘branded items’ not applying. Customer Service agent could have offered me another code but no, as he couldn’t care less. I had difficulty understanding him too. Never again will I shop at Pennington. They don’t care about me so I do not care about them.
Unprofessional Customer Service and Disrespect to Clients
I have been dealing with the store since 2018 as a privileged client . But after a couple of situations happening after the pandemic, I really needed to leave a review and warn customers.
On March 11 I received an order that came with a defected pair of earrings due to wrong handling and shipping. Item was returned and Penningtons received it on March 16 and case was communicated with a customer service agent who never escalated matter properly! Till this date refund was never processed, they keep openeing cases and saying that someone will get back to me and that never happens. So that's it, I guess! I don't like leaving wrong reviews, luckily my item was cheap in value, but I really don't want to see anyone suffering with them with an expensive item! So sad that Penningtons turned out that way!
Customer service lacking
I recently made a purchase of a pair of shoes (I have a wider foot). I had some questions regarding them and returning them or receiving a price adjustment. The customer service that was provided was abysmal and no effort was made to resolve my concern. I will stick to DSW and Browns, the hassle of dealing with Pennington and their "no department" isnt worth it.

Worst online ordering. Very poor customer service, they do nothing for you. Ordered two order witch came to over $100, charged two shipping fees. Will not be buying any more cloths here ever again.
GARBAGE CUSTOMER SERVICE
The staff at my local store in Woodbridge are fabulous; however, the quality of the products has hit rock bottom while the prices climb. The cotton tops that I bought are so thin they are see through like fine porcelain! Packing jackets are filled with thin polyester but are charged what a down filled one used to cost. I am really writing about the service received from an online order. Shipped from London and heading to Toronto. Never received it. Canada Post says that they never got the package and Penningtons is blaming Canada Post. Which is fine, however they are not willing to make it right. They want me to wait a full month and then they will refund me, and I can then buy it back at full price, e-mail them, and hope that they will then refund me the difference. Like anything will even be in stock by then! I begged him to replace the order now at the sale price and I was willing to pay again and then wait for the refund. I just wanted the clothes! He point blank refused. If I wanted the clothes now, I would have to pay full price for them. They do not care one bit about customer satisfaction!

I was into Penningstons store 155 McAllister Drive on May 14/2022. The staff has a "WOW" Factor for customer service from the moment walk into the store until leaving very knowledgeable and helpful! The store is well organized and lots of all sizes except you could use more X in something! Thank you for a pleasant experience.
Online shoppers worst nightmare
I believe in this time of pandemic turmoil Coorporations should be working harder to retain and not throw away customers. Penningtons is doing their part to throw them away.
I am immune compromised and cannot go out leisurly to shop and can't have visitors. So I received a coupon from Penningtons that gave me an opportunity to order from them online. This is where the ordeal started:
My parcel was broken into 3 separate shipments on December 26th. One of them coming from BC when they already knew that there was a crisis in shipping there. That BC parcel was pushed back twice (Dec 31st, Jan 5th) to still be in the void and never arrive.
I contacted Penningtons on Dec 31st and was told Jan 11th would be 10 business days so I could call back in to file an investigation. I proactively filed a service ticket with Canada Post who told me that on Jan 13th if I did not receive the parcel they would instruct me further.
Jan 11th arrived still no parcel so I contacted Penningtons and was told that I had to wait until Jan 14th.
On Jan 13th Canada Post replied back and stated that the sender could file a claim.
On Jan 14th I called Penningtons, provided the correct tracking number and the service ticket number and the items that were still missing. I was told I would receive an email in 5 business days after they investigate and decide whether a credit would be issued. I asked about my coupon and was told that they could not do anything about that.
Today I received my email from Penningtons with the incorrect amount credited. I had to contact them again and received rude service being cut off everytime I tried to speak. They credited back an item I already received in that full shipment and blamed me for providing them the incorrect information. I have to wait another 5 business days for another investigation.
This is a customers worse online shopping nightmare. This experience with a so called great coorporation will be a total of 34 days when finished.
RIP-OFF
TERRIBLE customer service from Canadian head office in Montreal. Do not even read e-mails or comprehend. Standard reply sent. Style Insider program is just a scam...you never receive your certificates.
