DO NOT GO HERE

DO NOT GO HERE. My daughter came into their service center and received the worst treatment. She did not get any fixes and when I tried to resolve it they threatened me with not releasing the car.

Worst - they had no idea what was wrong with her engine! And she signed a tiny window at the register but had no idea she was being charged for doing NOTHING. Again, her car is not fixed. Then they tried to charge her $700 for her jammed door lock.

Then Paul M at a store on 40605 Winchester Road, Temecula, CA 92600 today 9/24/24 HELD HER CAR HOSTAGE. Then when I question why she is being charged for nothing and Paul M flat out refused to give me the car for $60. The $60 makes sense if it is going toward the fix - but they didn't know how to fix it!

I am appalled that they didn't resolve and they said the manager is not available. And THEY THREATENED TO KEEP THE CAR.

Bait & Switch

8/20/2024. Bait and Switch Scam. Bought for expensive Tires for $1031. I was going on vacation trip that week. The store called and said my from brakes were metal on metal. gave me a price of $450 for brakes and rotors. I told them no I have a local mechanic who would do it for far less. around 250. He told me he would call back with a new price. Never did. Installed them anyway. Charged me $365. Furthermore, they never cleaned the tires when they were installed. The had sealant wax all over everything including the body of my car, rims, and tires.

I would never recommend this place to anyone!

I would never recommend the Gainesville, Florida location to anyone! My son and I were treated with disrespect and lied to several times by staff and manager Marcus. My car arrived on March 30, 2024 and sat there for two and a half months. I live in Ashtabula Ohio and my son was driving back to Tampa Florida. This was the only place available that moment which was late Saturday afternoon. My car needed a break vacuum pump which was only to take a day or two to fix. They told him it would be fixed the next week. Each time my son and I called we were put on hold by Jamie which she never returned, passing the buck to someone else. When we were able to talk to someone and asked for Marcus, he was always conveniently busy, never returning calls. Marcus then blamed my son for the delay in part order stating he gave them the wrong part number. Aren’t they the professionals?? My son knows nothing about cars. I have never been treated so poorly with crappy customer service and the run around. I decided enough was enough and called the corporate office, oh and Marcus called the next day to tell me a bunch of crap still blaming my son. They never took accountability for their actions. Because of this I had my car transported back to Ashtabula Ohio and cost me 750.00. When my car arrived at my mechanic’s, there were several parts in the back seat of the car as my mechanic stated he didn’t know why there were so many parts taken off. Oh and my car arrived with the battery missing!!! My mechanic called Gainesville Florida location and asked Marcus what he was going to do, Marcus agreed to have my mechanic order the battery and email the bill to him. My mechanic forwarded me Marcus’s email, sent him the email and never responded. I called him back , received the correct email, they have all my information including the bill with the battery included. Two weeks went by, never received a call as he was supposed to call before sending me the reimbursement check, never came. Sent Marcus an email stating my next move was to call corporate, he responded and passed it on to someone else. Decided to call corporate again to complain. Corporate was supposed to call me back and resolve the issue, it’s been over three weeks and no phone call or communication efforts from them!! Worst company ever!! If there was a zero rating possible that’s all they deserve!!

DO NOT GO

I had brake repairs done on my truck at PepBoys on June 21st. Just two months later, on August 26th, I nearly got into a serious accident because the brake caliper they installed fell off, locking up my front tire. This caused significant damage to my wheel and tire, and I had to pay $80 for a tow truck.

The technician emphasized that I needed a new tire due to the damage, but when we got to the front desk, the employee, Jimmy, refused to order a new one. After a long private conversation between Jimmy and the technician, the technician returned and asked me if I had any enemies who might want to harm me—implying that someone else could have tampered with my vehicle. This felt like they were trying to shift the blame rather than taking responsibility for their faulty repair or parts.

It has been three weeks, and I’m still waiting to hear back from management about this serious issue. I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of accountability and concern for my safety. I expected much better service and response from a professional shop.

I was running errands when I lost my brakes. I pulled into the Nile’s Ohio store without knowing if they could fix it for me. I explained my situation and they got me in and fixed it within 90 minutes. The gentlemen working that day were so considerate and kind. I would definitely recommend pep boys!!! Thank you

On August 31-Complaint Lake Worth, Fl

On August 31, 2024, my husband and I called Pepboys in Lake Worth, Fl and spoke with Pat, who we have been working with in the past. We told him that the problem we had brought our car for twice already is doing the same thing. He told us to bring it and he would have someone take a look at. My husband and son, took the car and was called back a hour later. The Jamaican mechanic, that was on duty found a different problem. However, the problem was not related to the issue that we were trying to resolve at the time. The Jamaican mechanic became so, irate and disrespectful even, Pat had to walk away. He would not let us get a word in and he became very combatted. He even, told our son, you not paying for it, so I am not talking to you. He was very nasty man, that just wanted to be right and will not be quite. He was talking all over management, he had know respect for his bosses. Since we had been back and forth about the same issue and paying each time for something different. We felt like it was a switch and bait and they were not operating with integrity. They did not do a pressure test, this is why they could not pin point the area that needed fix and they was just making suggestions and hoping it would get fix, but did not. I don’t understand if they are mechanics and they have the tools to do the job, why is it they want to rip off loyal customers and be disrespectful about. I don’t understand how a person can be employed by your company and is allowed to continue with the bad behavior. His bosses has to walk away from their own employees that mean they do not have any control over the workers.

Beware

Beware! Pep Boys is terrible.
If I could give them 0 stars, I would.
Customer service is horrendous.
Took my car in 4 times to get the AC fixed.
They just kept saying it was a different problem and charged me thousands over the course of a few months.
Guess what, AC is still not working and they want to charge me another $800.
Avoid this repair shop at all costs!

The service area had one associate

The service area had one associate. He was on the phone wirh a customer as 4 people waited. One customer left. The associate was on phone for 20 minutes, not once did he look for someone else to help him nor did he acknowledge the customers waiting. The next customer in line took at least 25 minutes. I was there almost an hour before getting my vehicle. Also, the waiting room area is not accommodating to parents with kids. It is not easy to wrangle kids in that type of waiting area at service desk. In my case I have a special needs son who needed to be with me but no place for him to sit in the service area. Not a good experience for me at all.

PepBoys put my family's life in jeopardy, Corporate ignoring me.

Here’s the long story summarized: Bought 75k Cooper tires from pep boys, they damaged my wheels, they refused to fix/pay. At 30k miles, brought my vehicle in to get tires rebalance since I was getting vibration, and an oil change. Shop does oil change, puts 7.5qts of oil into my 5.9qt vehicle causing engine issues. Pay to get those fixed at another shop. $250, then get on the road and my vehicle starts shaking uncontrollably. Took to another PepBoys 3 cities over as I broke down. That store manager informs me that my tires are all defective, severely separated and could’ve put my entire family’s life in danger on the highway. Also informs me that this damage would’ve been clearly visible and illegal to put these wheel back on my vehicle 120miles earlier at the first pep boys shop. Had to buy new tires… Called corporate and got the “we will have someone call you”, kept calling them back every 3 days and now 11 days later I have yet to have ANY response or solution from them.

Most inept shop I have ever used, and so far the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

The worst service ever

The worst service ever. These workers think customers are so dumb. You schedule an appointment and they do not honor that. They will make you wait hours and when you ask how long it will take they gaslight you saying that there’s other cars in front of you. They say the best time to come is when the store open. Lies!!!! You will still have to wait forever. These workers are super slow. Replacing a battery should not take 4 freaking hours. What is the whole point of an appointment!!!

I strongly advise against using Pep Boys

I strongly advise against using this service. I had an 8:30 am appointment for a brake pad change, but upon arrival, I was informed the mechanic wouldn't be in until 9 am, and my car would be ready by 10 am. At 10:08 am, I received a complimentary inspection report via text. When I asked about the status of my car, I was told the estimate would take another 30 minutes. Frustrated, I decided to leave. To my dismay, I found my car had been moved by the shop, parked in an illegal spot, and it had received a parking ticket. Initially, I was assured the shop had a contract with the city to handle such tickets. However, 30 minutes later, I received a call stating the regional manager would send me a check instead. What happened to the supposed contract with the city?

Pep boys is a scam!

Pep boys is a scam!! We had rear breaks replaced by them. They totally messed up the job and caused additional damage. Used very cheap parts as replacement and claimes to use parts from „dealership“! We had to take the car back twice to them because the parking break was stuck after their break job… another shop had to fix it eventually because they were not capable of doing it! also personal was very rude and tried to intemidate me (smaller female…). Please don‘t go to pep boys.. it‘s a scam.
