I bought a persimmon home in Dumbarton 6 months ago (the hawthorns) and will never buy again from them the quality of there workmanship is well below standards . Latest problem is the garden water pooling all winter and after countless complaints from the residents they send in a sub contractor to fix it using a French drain system . When persimmon said the work was complete I checked it I have over 40 years experience in the building trade as bricklayer . The trench had no fleece or geotec liner and the stone was unwashed pea gravel this means the perforated drain will silt up in the matter of months the site agent is washing his hands of the matter and constantly is void of the truth ( seems out of his depth tbh) health and safety is no existent on site as I have witness on countless occasions all in all I would ask you to think hard when buy from persimmon it's been an unpleasant experience
We have been looking for a new build home in the Northamptonshire area since September 2025.
I have to say after viewing many homes in the area through another agent we felt the homes were below standard in terms of quality.
Feeling somewhat deflated on our way home we were driving past Persimmon Homes when my partner suggested we go and see what they have.
So glad we did as from the moment we arrived the customer service and attention to detail was second to none!
Ehrin was so welcoming, professional thorough, informative and knowledgeable throughout! So much so we bought the house !
Ehrin has responded promptly with each and every enquiry we have had and continues to update us on the progress of our new home. We feel she has seriously gone that extra mile even helping us with colour schemes to soft furnishings. We have also had the pleasure of talking with Hayley. I can’t thank these ladies enough for their support throughout our journey!
Persimmon made the transaction process easy for me as a first-time homebuyer. Their staff took the time to explain each step clearly and were always available to provide support and clarification whenever needed.
Nick & Darren - Customer Care South West.
We moved into our Persimmon home and during the snagging period raised a couple of faults that Persimmon arranged to have fixed as part of the snagging. Nick & Darren came out for most, if not all repairs that were carried out at our address. They were both very polite, considerate and were open with us whilst carrying out their work. They were very clean and left the house immaculate after each day, ensuring all work spaces were hoovered and cleaned down. Throughout the days and course of their work they confirmed if we were happy with the work they had carried out and if there was anything else they could help with.
They are both a credit to the Persimmon Customer Care Team South West.
Dealt with Rachel and Liz at the sales office and they were first class throughout. Genuinely emotionally invested in your purchase and even once you’re in they were brilliant with the aftercare, and still are 5 months after us moving in.
Do not buy with persimmon. I have had nothing but issues. 2 years on major works still to be completed with no dates booked in. We have had raw sewage backing in the house for a month at a time, a flooded garden thats we cant use, a shower leaking for 2years and 9 pages of snags to complete plus a 50 page snag report. Do not buy is my advice, my house was clearly rushed and unfinished and now struggling to get work completed and living in a dump with nothing but stress, inconvenience and large aspects of the house not working. The "dream new home" is entirely ruined and lived a nightmare for 2years trying to escalate complaints to even get work acknowledged. Wish I could give zero stars ir even minus
Kyle the Joiner was out to assist with fixing my kick plates in the kitchen and did a great job. Pleasant and polite. Helped with making sure they all fitted properly and done great. Would be happy to have Kyle back to do other joinery jobs if needed. Thank you Kyle
Gary the Joiner has been out to fix a few snagging issues and he always does a great job and is friendly.

This review relates to a previous complaint made by Anja, and I would like to share my own experience as a former owner of an apartment built by Persimmon/Leech over 30 years ago.
In my experience, Persimmon Homes and Kingston Property Services (managing agents) have shown a complete disregard for leaseholders. They demand excessive and seemingly unjustified maintenance and service charges while failing to provide clear, transparent evidence to support these costs when requested.
Communication is consistently poor. Enquiries and concerns are often ignored, leaving leaseholders without answers or resolution. Furthermore, there appears to be little willingness to accept responsibility for mismanagement or shortcomings in the service provided.
Leaseholders deserve transparency, accountability, and responsive management. Unfortunately, my experience has been the opposite, and I feel compelled to warn others who may be considering dealing with these companies.
This is one of the most unprofessional companies I have dealt with. Next to their managing agents Kingston Property Services.
Their complete mismanagement and lack of accountability are deeply concerning, and they routinely ignore valid and justified formal complaints from leaseholders.
They are in breach of their obligations by failing to maintain a boundary wall, yet they now expect leaseholders to pay for the consequences of their long-term neglect.
Despite repeated requests over the past three years, neither the company nor their managing agents, Kingston Property Services, have provided any evidence whatsoever that the wall is the responsibility of leaseholders. In fact, the wall is not even identified within the leases.
The wall is approximately 30 years old, and there appears to be no evidence of any maintenance having ever been carried out by either Persimmon Homes or Kingston Property Services. Nevertheless, Kingston Property Services continues to demand payment from leaseholders for repairs.
Leaseholders have effectively been expected to fund the company’s own mistakes, while also being repeatedly told that supporting evidence existed when none has ever been produced.
To date, we are still waiting to see any proof of liability.
It is extremely disappointing to see leaseholders treated in this manner, particularly when many have invested significant amounts of hard-earned money into their homes and simply expect transparency, fairness, and accountability.
Have had persistent problems with a leaking bathroom for over 18 months now. Persistently ignored by customer care team aftercare in the property is beyond abysmal. Bathroom has still not been completed and left with black mould in our home and no shower. Would not recommend buying a property with this company who repeatedly fail to make appointments, ignore all correspondence.
Max and Paul customer care south west completed a repair on my house over two days. Always polite and clean and tidy. Great work done and they went above and beyond.

Dave the plastic surgeon came and fixed a hole in our worktop. You cannot even see where the hole was now. It's amazing workmanship!!!

Michelle at the Parish has been fantastic! Incredibly friendly and helpful as this is the first time I have bought a new build and she has helped guide me through the process from the very start. Nothing is too much trouble or question too daft. Thank you Mich! :)

We cannot thank Tara & Co at Trinity Fields - Clacton on sea enough. They have been nothing short of phenomenal with us and our journey.
You hear all of these horror stories with new build sites up and down the country but there is a very clear reason why Tara and Trinity Fields proudly showcase their 5 star rating. (And rightly so!).
No question has ever been too much, too silly or too confusing. Tara has been unbelievably patient with me as a first time buyer. With all the nerves surrounding a move anyways, she has been a source of calm. Even when it comes to bumps in the road, they were immediately quashed with Tara's help to make the journey smooth. A truly exemplary example of what you look for when seeking a Sales Advisor with such a big commitment like buying a house.
Thank you again for all of your help. 10/10 - Will 100% be recommending to my friends.

Absolutely awful experience with Persimmon Homes and their customer care team.
My partner and I bought our first home in December 2024 with persimmon homes. Since moving in, we have been trying to get our garden brought up to the same standard as the other homes on the estate, many of which have had their gardens turfed. However, every time we raise the issue, we are dismissed and told to deal with it ourselves because our property is shared ownership.
Our garden was left full of rocks, screws, broken tiles, bricks, and other building debris and items from the builders. We initially tried to resolve the problem ourselves by clearing as much of the surface debris as possible and laying grass seed, but the condition of the ground meant this was unsuccessful.
When we contacted customer care for assistance, we were met with a complete lack of interest. Rather than investigating the issue or offering any support, we were simply told that there was nothing they could do and that we would need to sort it ourselves.
As first-time buyers, this has been incredibly disappointing. We feel that because our home is shared ownership, we have been treated differently from other residents on the development. We expected a much higher standard of customer service and aftercare from Persimmon Homes, especially when raising concerns about the condition in which our garden was left.
I would not recommend Persimmon Homes based on our experience. The lack of support, accountability, and willingness to help has been extremely frustrating.
