I called today to find out about a procedure and the customer service representative as always was wonderful. I highly recommend this company I have been an insured pet owner for five years now. Some concerbns about your service
Hello, thank you for the opportunity for expressing my concerns. That said it is my experience that whenever asked for a review or opinion, my concerns are never addressed and "in one ear and out the other" so its said. Regardless, I have two concerns. First, If a CHRONIC condition within a pet starts while on your insurance, why not pay for it past the time allowed? Second, it takes too long for claim approval and reimbursement.
I still search for the PERFECT pet insurance. It is like searching for BIGFOOT. One knows its out there but oh so difficult to find.

Simplify Submission
I love being able to email in the submissions, but hate having to print out the form and scan it in. A simple web form w/ image attachments for the doctors notes would be great (plus could aid in tracking).

Very good claims service
I had a good experience this time with the claims department. I then submitted expense for an ongoing medication that my cat needs for life and it was difficult trying to get them to locate and process it.
Way to go!
They really care about your pet and have streamlined the claim process.

Service was excellent. My cat spent 5 days in a veterinary hospital for bladder stones. He ended up with surgery and the total charges were
over $4,000. My claim was easy to file and the rep walked me though
everything I would need. Claim was paid within 7 days and I received
$3541.50 reimbursement.

Prompt service, easy to review claims
Our rescue puppy has had quite a few issues the first 6 months of his life, and we have luckily had PetFirst to help us pay for his care.
Once your claims have been processed, you can log into your account online, where you can review your claims and reimbursement. If a claim is denied, they explain in detail why the charge is not covered by insurance.
Overall, PetFirst is very easy to use and makes vet care for sick animals much easier to afford.
I Love Pet First
I currently have 6 pets insured with Pet First and I have found their customer service to be excellent and their claim turnaround time excellent. The only negative is their web site should be much better with online claim submission and better tracking of claims on their site.

I have been very pleased with PetFirst Pet insurance. My two dogs had several health problems, and the insurance was very diligent to pay back what was due according to their policy, so no bad surprised.
Petfirst doesn't disappoint!!!
My doggie daughter became very ill and required hospitalization. I didn't think twice about what it would cost. I just wanted her to get better. However, when the dust settled, it was nice to know that the bill would be paid by Pet First. What a life saver it is!!!
Trustworthy
I had my doubts about trying pet insurance. Frankly I thought it would be a rip off every time you tried to file a claim . Instead of the frustration and anger I anticipated I was shocked to find the opposite. Claims processed quickly , web site that shows full transparency of the process and claims paid quickly .
I also thought with pet insurance you would file a claim, and would only get a tiny fraction reimbursed, but absolutely not the case here. Shockingly I am one very happy customer ,and have all my animals signed up!

Changed my review
In 2016 I gave PetFirst 4 stars and now here I am in 2021. In those 5 years the trend has been downhill. Always have to track down claims. Consistently say they have not received the notes though the vet has proof of email and fax delivery. The last policy (Feb 2021) went up over 150% (!!) but by then Nilla was almost 14 years old so almost didn't have a choice. Fast forward to April 2021 and she went from fine one day to us learning she had a bleeding tumor in her chest and two days later we had her put down before her suffering became too much for her and us to bear. Again I had to keep following up on the claim. I called 4 or 5 times. Not one person offered any condolences. They seemed irritated by my phone calls. In the market for a new puppy. Will not be using PetFirst again.
Claim was processed quickly
I submitted a claim for an emergency surgery my dog needed. I was updated regularly via email, and reimbursed in a fairly quick amount of time! I was very happy with their customer service!
i have had nothing but problems with this company.
I have had my policy for 8 years now. At the beginning they were a good company, now however I wont refer them to anyone else. I have sent at least 5 people to them over the years. All of us are unhappy now. Claims processing is now a joke... taking almost a month instead of two weeks like before and anything, and i mean anything not to pay your claims.
