Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 105 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers frequently reported severe vehicle mechanical failures, unexpected breakdowns, and deeply inadequate responses to official manufacturer safety recalls. People also suffered from extremely lengthy delays trying to secure replacement parts and practical solutions from customer support teams. Some reviewers were happy with specific local dealerships, praising the welcoming attitude and helpful nature of staff members. Individual buyers appreciated receiving attentive service, clear communication, and professional assistance during their vehicle purchases and maintenance appointments. These consistently pleasant interactions provided a genuinely reassuring environment for visitors despite experiencing broader frustrating issues.

My car was recalled due to cam chain it…

My car was recalled due to cam chain it failed and is unsafe. Liverpool stellantis and you have my car they haven't given us a time scale and refused to provide a courtesy car or hire car. I have had to go to the motor ombudsman and seek legal advice .

Peugeot Stallantis have cheated us by…

Peugeot Stallantis have cheated us by not paying for a severe engine problem, caused by their faulty camshaft.
They have known about the defective camshaft since July 2025 yet didn’t send us the safety recall letter until November 2025.
Just 3 weeks prior to getting this letter, our car suffered major engine damage caused by their faulty camshaft link breaking. There were smashed tappets all through the engine that had to be stripped and rebuilt. The repair cost £3,200.
We didn’t know about the safety recall at the time and the car was taken to an AA affiliated garage because it was recommended by the AA roadside assistance.
When we got the safety recall letter, I contacted Peugeot/Stallantis to tell them about the part failing, fully expecting that they would pay for this repair, given they were late to tell us about the recall.
I was told that because it was repaired at a non Peugeot garage, they wouldn’t pay.
How unfair is that?!
How would we even know to take it to one given the lack of information/timing of their communication.
They are cheats!

Stressful

Sales team great from start of the process to collecting the car.
Now we have the car, customer care has been disappointing. Took 3 months to have faults looked into (was booked in twice and cancelled the day appointment was for, drove to the garage to be told!)
Now told the wet passenger seat resulting in the car being damp is a design fault! And the fault lights are “ghost lights”
Sold the dream and turning into a bit of a nightmare.
Have put in multiple complaints and had one email and one phone where I had to ask who they were and why they were calling. The are keen to close the case before the car is assessed!
I had a courtesy car that had no fuel and was dirty.
I have my concerns that if/when I need a service it was be the same stress and frustration
Then when we finally give the car back it will have “wear and tear” issues that if were looked at sooner wouldn’t have wear or tear?! Resulting in Peugeot making money and me loosing money!

Ps to all of this issues are still no resolved and still waiting for any real conversation from the complaints team.

Stay away from Peugeot

Stay away from Peugeot - I have claim pending since last October and still nobody in Peugeot can either answer calls emails or contact me back regarding it. My Peugeot 2008 was only 6 weeks old when I started having pales with it. Broke down on the way to a wedding last October got it fixed in a main dealer and still waiting on the claim to be repaid out.. 78 emails and countless calls and NOBODY will take accountability for it.. stay away from Peugeot at all cost .

Faulty new car

Bought a new Peugeot 208 GT in June 2025. Car was fine for 6 months until a message on the dashboard came up saying “Engine Fault. Repair Needed.” Tried to call the dealership for a repair but their waiting times are 2 months for a diagnostic check, which is appalling. Had to go to another approved repairer (as vehicle is under warranty) on 2 occasions due to the same fault. The fault now still appears on the car and I’ve tried to get in contact with them by going in person, phone call, email (they’ve raised two case numbers but no one has still responded!) and a letter. Cant get through to anyone at all. I now want to return the car because it shouldn’t be happening on a new car when the same fault keeps reappearing. Something is obviously not right but I can get through to anyone. Very poor customer service

Wet belt failure and airbag system…

Wet belt failure and airbag system failure at 43000 miles, customer care would not accept good will to fix this problem, also had a clutch failure at 28000 miles, poor experience would never purchase from them again. Even it being our only family car and a new born baby recently born.

Bought a new E208 in May 2025

Bought a new E208 in May 2025, love the car. But a fault developed in Dec 2025 with the traction and took it in to my local peugoet dealer as the dealer I bought it from is over 30 miles away. 2 months later, and multiple calls to customer support (who never ever called me back when they said they would) I had to take Henri (yes he has a French name) to the dealer I bought it from as local dealer even with peugoet tech support couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it. Many many fault codes and I mean many, it’s at the dealer for two days now no call back to say how things are progressing, I am at my wits end, going to have to get a consumer rights lawyer involved as I can’t see me getting Henri back soon. The peugoet app is awful and they want to change for it what a joke. I bought the E208 as I had a 107 which after 16 years of trouble free 130,000 miles I thought they were good cars. As people have said don’t buy a peugoet they look lovely but if you get a lemon.

DO NOT BUY PEUGEOT

Have the new 3008 and my biggest regret is not going for another make!
Car seems well equipped until you buy and get to know it and it is crap, lowest of the lowest for quality, service and support!
Found out the car resets its self so it disconnects your phone, resets the door settings from driver door opens first so you feel secure and all settings you made are cancelled.
There is no warning and no notification!
The speed awareness is useless and tells me I can do 80 in a 30 zone and 90 on the motorway!
DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND. THE CARS ARE ANNOYING, OVER PRICED AND KNOWING THE FAULTS WILL BE WORTHLESS WHEN TRADING!!

I would give them zero if possible

I would give them zero if possible. My car broke down in May 2025. I had the car towed to a garage and they diagnosed the camshaft. Couldnt get the part for months and was finally repaired in December. A letter arrives in November to say there is a recall for the camshaft if you have paid for a repair you can claim it back. Give them all the relevant information and like everyone else on here all you get is the run around. The person dealing with your claim isnt available. Meanwhile we are out £1200 we paid for the repair. We are pensioners and cannot afford to lose this money but no one will answer any calls or emails. 7 months of car payments for a car we couldnt use, wasted money!! Shame on you Peugeot!

My 2008 registered I 2021 had broken…

My 2008 registered I 2021 had broken down with 36000 miles cambelt failure earliest Peugeot could repair it was about 6 weeks .so had to hire a car as my wife works as a r travelling nurse in the community, so therefore could not be without a car , any way thought under warranty as only 5 years old 36 k fully serviced by Peugeot since new. Stelllantis Newport tried every excuse to makee pay. first the so say service manager said car 6 years old ,wrong ,then missed a service in 2024 wrong again, then said ah but service in 2024 was done in may 24 should have been April 24 although car had only covered 4 k miles since prior service. Had my wife in tears as he bullied me into paying £1333.72 to release the car
DONT USE STELLANTIS GROUP, DONT BUY PEUGEOT.

Dont trust the 7mm timing chain recall...

Discovered my car had an outstanding recall regarding the famous faulty 7mm timing chain flaw the 1.5 diesel engines have after the symptoms of it were already presenting themselves. Paid a small fortune to get the car to the nearest dealer (overnight ferry from where I live) only to be told it was fine. Have paid a larger fortune to have it repaired locally including confirmation the chain was at fault as expected. Customer service has been abysmal and they've washed their hands of the whole thing. The 'recall' test was comprehensively inadequate, having only 'listened' to the engine to see if the chain was faulty..

Peugeot’s warranty customer care is…

Peugeot’s warranty customer care is absolutely awful. I have been trying to get a single issue resolved for nearly two months and I am getting absolutely nowhere.
Every time I contact them, I’m told the same thing: “Your case manager is on the phone” or “A supervisor will call you back within 48 hours.” That call never comes. When I chase it up again, I’m then told to contact them again within two hours if no one calls — and even then, there is still no supervisor available.
It’s an endless cycle of empty promises, no accountability, and zero urgency. For a major car manufacturer, this level of customer care is completely unacceptable.
If you value your time, peace of mind, or actually having issues resolved under warranty, stay away from Peugeot

No customer care

I purchased my used Peugeot 5008 when it was 3 years old. The first 3 years of the car it had a full service history but issues started happening and the garage couldn't work out what it was. Turns out Peugeot had been putting the wrong oil in my car and completely damaged the engine. Instead of replacing the engine they changed parts but it still didnt work and then refused to sort the issue further due to the age of my car now. So now I have a family car that doesnt work! The customer care team is terrible! They have no concern and generally cant be bothered with the complaints. They are rude and sound bored when talking to you. You get passed to all different people who some tell you it will be covered and others then say it isn't. Utter shambles of a company and has put me and family and friend soff purchasing from them again!

Awful customer service

It's the second time I have an Adblue emission fault on my Peugeot 3008, with the dreaded count down to 'Engine will fail to start' mileage message. I call my local dealer, then have no space for over 8 weeks, in mean time we moved house, I call another dealer, same story and now the mileage notification is down to 50 miles. Which meant I had to hire a car as Peugeot dealership have zero capacity. I also got the time chain recall. I phoned dealership, service dept hung on me. I call recall the number, they hung up when I asked about the Adblue fault.
I work in Service organisation and I have to say that Peugeot customer service contact centre and process is disgraceful. It doesn't work, the people answering the call simply don't care and not interesting in helping the end customer at all. And the dealerships are just a rude.
Needless-to-say, once the fault is fixed, I will be selling the car and never purchasing another Peugeot. I know I am just one person, but it the only protest I can do as they don't answer calls, emails or tweets.
