Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 105 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers frequently reported severe vehicle mechanical failures, unexpected breakdowns, and deeply inadequate responses to official manufacturer safety recalls. People also suffered from extremely lengthy delays trying to secure replacement parts and practical solutions from customer support teams. Some reviewers were happy with specific local dealerships, praising the welcoming attitude and helpful nature of staff members. Individual buyers appreciated receiving attentive service, clear communication, and professional assistance during their vehicle purchases and maintenance appointments. These consistently pleasant interactions provided a genuinely reassuring environment for visitors despite experiencing broader frustrating issues.

Horrific Peugeot experience

Leased a new Peugeot 5008 in July and we have a fault preventing the car from starting. The service from Peugeot in resolving this issue whilst under warranty have been completely unbelievable. This includes but is not limited to: misinformation re courtesy car processes, not adhering to resolution timescales, leaving vulnerable situations without a car for extended periods, staff attitude, the inability to raise complaints (I have been told I have no right to complain or escalate my concerns and they apparently have no ombudsman or oversight which is incredibly concerning). The whole thing has been incredibly upsetting, has ruined our Christmas and even the team working on my car have advised that dealerships can no longer get quick answers to help fix the car from Peugeot. The franchise system doesn’t work and Peugeot ‘customer care’ doesn’t understand the meaning of their own title. Avoid at all costs.

I booked in my motorhome through the call centre

I booked in my motorhome through the Peugeot call centre. I had an urgent recall to be done and the oil light was on and I decided on a service.
I arrived at the designated dealership which happened to be Vauxhall, Pentagon in Arnold Nottingham.
I checked in and my booking was on the system. I was then informed they cannot do Peugeot recalls as they did not have the right system to claim the costs back. I was also then told they could not service the Peugeot as they did not have lifting gear for it.
I have complained but have received no response from Peugeot. This was 2 people, 2 vehicles and 4 hours round trip each (the motorhome was in storage) and fuel for to vehicles.
Shame on Peugeot.
I’m disgusted and I have a Motorhome that is now not ready for me to use in January.
The person in the call centre needs some serious training.

TERRIBLE

TERRIBLE! Probably the worst customer service and company I have dealt with. I bought a Peugeot 3008 1.5 in July this year and it had an outstanding recall on it for the camshaft chain. I booked in for the recall at Stellantis&You in Leicester, they passed the recall on the 3rd of November 2025. Two weeks later the vehicle has broken down in the middle of the road for the same exact reason it went in for the recall, as diagnosed by AA when they came to tow the vehicle. I sent the vehicle back to the dealership and it's just been back and forth with no resolution. Really poor and rude service from Stellantis& You Leicester who have put me in loop of a waiting game. I have been without a vehicle for a couple of weeks now, getting an Uber to work and still paying insurance on my vehicle that is sitting with them.

I got it touch with Peugeot Customer Service directly on 13 December 2025, no one got in touch with despite having a case number and calling them multiple times, today when I told them I am escalating the issue to the Motor Ombudsman an agent named Nicolas called who just gave vague answers and that someone will get in touch. I didn't accept those answers and asked to speak with a manager with he denied and said he can't let me speak with them. I spoke with another agent yesterday named Tamari she said Richard was my case handler and he would email me. Today the agent named Nicolas says there is no one by the name of Richard working there. What a joke of a company, the Motor Ombudsman reallys needs to look into this fraudulent company.

I will definitely be taking this further and get all my costs compensated, to their audacity they haven't even offered me a courtesy car! A recall is a manufacturering flaw! Not a consumer issue who purchased your product in good faith.

DISGRACEFUL AT BEST!

2019 2008

2019 2008, broken down due to slipped/snapped timing chain, recieved a letter to inform me they have an urgent recall due to this exact matter, phoned over a dozen times each time being told a different thing, was told to ring peugeot breakdown to get my car recovered, you need to be an rac member, so phoned back yet again, was told my case manager would ring back within 3 to 5 day, over 2 week later still nothing, so phoned again today, case manager wasn’t available, so i asked why no one has phoned me back only to be hung up on, absolute joke, customer care is non existent! no body knows what they are talking about or what to do so i’m paying monthly for a ton of scrap metal, amazing service

I got in touch with local Peugeot via…

I got in touch with local Peugeot via Web chat about a part number for my rcz.
Was told somebody would ring me about my enquiry. Left all relevant details. Contact number, email and when was best (anytime I said.)
I'm guessing with me saying anytime it'll be the year 2030..
I've driven Peugeot cars for years. Never had any issue with customer service etc, however fast forward those years and the service given nowadays is poor. You'd expect it off local businesses, but not one of the leaders in the automobile section.
For me, a simple request to enquire about a part is an easy job. But they have fallen and can't even be bothered to follow up on that initial call.
They have service box etc a car reg and a phone. Yet nothing heard back. This is now twice I've asked about something last one was 18months back, still waiting for that call as well.
Buuut luckily these motor factors euro, gsf and napa are more helpful.
It's a pity the service level for after sales or older cars isn't as good as those with brand spanking new cars.
Shame on you peugeot..
Nice cars.. But if they put as much effort in to following up a call, as they do with designs of the cars, the company would be better.
Not impressed with the lack of service received at all.

Awful experienced with peugeot dealer…

Awful experienced with peugeot dealer in Llanelli my car had a leak on anti freeze coolant and they repaired by changing the bowl and tubes cost me £400 but after several months same problem went back and they said need to change the radiator and cost me £902 after 2 days still leaking and when I rang them said maybe the next problem is the engine and not advisable to fix it because is not worth it due to my car value advised me instead to get new car and part exchange my old car that they can’t fix .
Then I found new car and part exchanged but when I called the peugeot complaint they can’t refund the cost as the car is not under my property now and llanelli dealer also same comment and when I spoken to the manager on 05/12/2025 he told me its not their fault to find directly the problem immediately and he also ask me what is my job and when I told him I am a nurse he comment that we make mistake as well and that is acceptable he said ,Very UNPROFESSIONAL comments from a manager of peugeot Llanelli.

Appalling recall service

Car got recalled for a timming chain issue . Found to be faulty on the 27 th November. Garage ordered part same day it's now the 8 th December and the part still not arrived for the garage to fit. Rang both customer service and recall seriously not interested in trying to sort it out . Apparently he was adamant he was going to escalate the problem and find out why the garage has not fixed it . Seriously where do they get these staff from ,??? I have been without transport for 9 days and not looking like it will be sorted any time soon . First time with Peugeot and will definitely be the last .

new e208

Purchased a new e208 on 10/10/25 and a few days after we noticed a small paint imperfection on one of the front wings. This not a major issue but it is the terrible way Peugeot have handled the issue.
I contacted the garage we got the car from and sent them a few pictures of the issue and they agreed that this needs to be rectified under warranty and gave me a number of a local repair garage that could do the work and also complete all the warranty paperwork.
Unfortunately this garage was fully booked until Jan 26, so I called peugeot to see what could be done and this is where my issues and complaint arise from.
The first person I spoke with gave me a number of another garage not in my area but also not too far away but they could only do the work if the garage we bought the car from would do the warranty paperwork, this is an issue as the repair garage is only open mon-fri and is not near the sales garage or the other repair garage they suggested was a 3 hour round trip!
I phoned back to peugeot to see if it would be possible for us to wait until the nearby garage has availability to do the work as its not causing any issues with car, they said they need to pass this to another team to check and they would call me back.
Well 7 weeks later and still no call back, I have called every week since the first contact to be told the case handler is either busy or on a course, so last week I asked to raise a complaint about the service and speak with a manager, to be told I would be contacted by a manager within 48 hours. Guess what, 7 days later still no contact. I called again and was passed to someone who could not help but said someone would call me, still waiting!
All we want is for confirmation we can wait until the nearby garage has availability to do the work, nothing else.
Shocking customer service.

Absolutely appalling service firstly…

Absolutely appalling service firstly from King’s Lynn where I purchased the new 3008 in September.
Secondly from Peugeot customer services.
It appears they can’t do enough for you to get your money when purchasing a car, but if something goes wrong or simply wasn’t fit for purpose, they don’t wish to know. I purchased a brand new 3008 and requested a dog guard be supplied and fitted by Peugeot, as my previous car was fitted. I was told the guard was £250 for supplying AND fitting I could have purchased this guard for under £100 and a child could have fitted. To add to this they fitted it upside down and these are skilled people. The guard i expected to be fitted is yet to be made for the new version of 3008.
Instead a clip on guard was fitted without asking if this was acceptable, it’s not fit for purpose and moves. The fact that the wrong guard was fitted and I was charged for them to clip it on to the head rest is appalling.
After contacting kings Lynn and sending pictures as requested, I was told it would be looked into and they would come back with their findings.
No time scale absolutely no idea as to when this will happen. A week later and nothing. I contacted customer services and received an email stating they would be in touch within 3 working days. I’ve had to call them as no contact made, they didn’t have my registration number which i know i added.
They could have called me or emailed me if they didn’t have it instead of me having to call because their time scale had passed
I definitely wouldn’t recommend them

Awful company to deal with

Awful company to deal with! Our 3008 had a cam belt failure which we paid to have fixed at a local garage. 3 months later we had a letter stating that the issue we had fixed was under a manufacturer recall. We have contacted Peugeot numerous times with regard reimbursement towards the cost, each time we are either fobbed off with 'noone is available at the moment' 'you will recieve a call tomorrow' ' the person allocated to your case is sick' - this has been going on for months now. The portal for Stellanis(if you try and make an online claim) is not fit for purpose. Honestly the worst customer service I have ever tried to deal with.

Appalling treatment from Peugeot – refused support for premature timing belt failure

I am deeply disappointed with Peugeot’s handling of my case. My 2019 Peugeot 3008 has covered only 33,000 miles and has a full Peugeot compliant service history, yet the wet timing belt has failed prematurely.

Peugeot have refused to offer any goodwill or assistance, claiming the belt should be replaced at 6 years or 62,000 miles. My car is just six months over the time limit but has done barely half the mileage. It’s completely unreasonable that such a major engine component should deteriorate this early, especially on a well maintained, low-mileage vehicle.

The customer service I received was unacceptable, the representative was abrupt, dismissive, and made no genuine effort to help. This lack of accountability and basic respect for customers is disgraceful for a manufacturer of Peugeot’s size and reputation.

I have lost all confidence in Peugeot and their after-sales care. I will never purchase another Peugeot vehicle and would strongly advise others to think twice before doing so.

Awful customer service. Never buying Peugeot again

Gave a reference number. Told I would hear in 5 Days. 25 phone calls 5 weeks and still nothing. "Oh the person you need to talk to is not in today. Oh they just stepped out they will call you within the next hour."
When I asked to speak to a manager. "Oh they are in a meeting" five times I was told that. Awful company

Never ever again

Never ever again. The car is good looking but thats it, it's actually a piece of junk and broke down when i'd owned it just 3 months. 3 garages later and its now been with peugeot for an age and nobody can tell me whats wrong or repair it. I've now been without it for nearly as long as i had it. I have never felt so ripped off in my life. Life savings down the drain. Wish i never trusted peugeot. They shouldn't be allowed to make cars. Just awful.

Customer service must be a alien…

Customer service must be a alien concept here. Had a electrical malfunction on a car around two years old and waited 3 months for a resolution. Had no help at all from the team, couldn't even tell me which part I was waiting for, if I was waiting weeks or months. When I tried to escalate with anyone senior I had no response. Called them, absolutely no interest or call back. They will just ignore your communication until you get bored. What on earth they are paid for is beyond me. Expect nothing in the way of usual customer support services here. Abysmal.

Don't buy Peugeot

Bought a 3008, had a timing chain recall, chain snapped on way to recall appointment, Peugeot found one service was 3 months late when between owners. In that time it had travelled less than 3000miles. The warranty says 150000 miles or 10years it's been 5 and less than 60000. The way I was spoken to and the stress they cause. Don't buy Peugeot..
