Please avoid Peugeot products by all means

I am extremely disappointed with Peugeot regarding the ongoing situation with my vehicle, which has been at a Peugeot dealership for over 7 weeks awaiting parts from Peugeot. It is disheartening that no one has been able to provide any meaningful information about when these parts will be available.

Despite multiple attempts to contact the garage, I have only been advised to reach out to Peugeot directly, as they themselves have no answers. I have also contacted Peugeot severally, yet I have still not received any updates. This lack of communication and clarity gives the impression of serious disorganisation within Peugeot.

This situation has caused considerable distress, as our car remains unused in the garage while we continue to make monthly PCP payments for a vehicle we cannot drive. Based on this experience, we will not be considering Peugeot for any future vehicle purchases.

The customer service we have received has been wholly unhelpful, leaving us frustrated and deeply dissatisfied

Terrible customer care

This does not relate to the local Peugeot Dealer/service centre, Norwich. (Thurlow Nunn) They have been very responsive in trying to remedy a fault.
I purchased a 2024 408 1.2 GT 3 months ago. Traffic sign recocnition system doesn't function. Dealership trying for 3 months to get Peugeot/Stellantis to sort the problem. Getting no-where. Dealership gave me Peugeot Customer Care (joke) contact number, hoping a two fronted approach may help. I spoke to an "agent", was given a case number, then tried to explain the history and in middle of asking to speak to someone who may be able to help - the person cut me off, no discussion or help, phone just went dead in middle of my question. This happened twice. This is appalling cusomer service, not even worth one star.

How to lose £15k in 15 months

I have recently had a terrible experience with Peugeot, just 15 months after spending £19,000 (in cash!) on a second hand Peugeot 3008 car with their Stellantis Croydon branch.

We have serviced the car regularly and never had any issues, and it passed its MOT in November. We bought the car with 24,000 miles and are now at 31,000 miles. The 12 months warranty we received expired in November 2024.

Recently my wife broke down on the way to work and she was picked up by roadside recovery. That day, the private garage told us that our 'dual mass flywheel' had failed, which they say is highly unusual for a 3 year old car and after only 31k miles, and quoted us £3k to repair it. We called Peugeot, and opened a claim for a goodwill repair, given the cost of repair and the failure of a core component of the car which is well outside of what should be ‘normal’ wear and tear. Peugeot Head Office advised us to have a diagnostics check with Peugeot Stellantis directly. So we took it to Stellantis Croydon on the next available date 3 weeks later (delivered at our own cost, as we cannot drive it) and they reported the same issues, plus more issues they identified (some included broken bolts inside the engine!), and quoted us £5.3k to repair the car. We called Peugeot's Head Office again to get an update on the goodwill repair and they had not reported the original case, so I had to submit it again and was told to wait 5 business days for the Head Office to speak with Stellantis Croydon.

We have now gone 9 weeks without a car that we paid £19,000 for 15 months ago, which failed 5 months after the warranty expired. It is currently not road safe, and we are stuck between selling it on Ebay for scrap/parts for £4k or paying £3k to 5.3k on the repair. We have just spent a summer break with our family (incl. 4 year old) car-less and relying on trains, buses and taxis for the entire summer at huge cost and inconvenience. The customer care from Peugeot is absolutely appalling, considering how few miles the car has completed for a part like the flywheel to have failed. For the sake of a £5k repair, they are sacrificing a buyer who paid £19k cash on a car directly with their garage only 15 months ago.

This is a company with £62billion revenues last year.

We have now reached out to Rip Off Britain, Katie Morley the Consumer Champion at The Telegraph but if anyone else is reading this and has encountered a similar issue with their Peugeot 3008 please do reply to this as I am keen to raise awareness. If you have a better understanding of our rights on this, too, any help is appreciated!

This is my Bad Romance!!

The fantastic treatment from EVERYBODY at Peugot, not least from the Sale showroom. I sourced my new Peugeot 208 from Bristol to be delivered to Sale. This was superb customer service; I was sent an in-depth video of my car, photos, everything I needed to see before my test drive, at which point I INSTANTLY knew this was the car for me personally, my 4th Peugeot and I am fully committed to the brand. I could not be happier with my new car, OUTSTANDING service.

The most deplorable and depraved motor…

The most deplorable and depraved motor company imaginable. They sell cars with known manufacturing faults that put people’s lives at risk and con families out of thousands of pound. When contacted about these issues, they simply state with no conscience that their cars should only last 3 years and they give zero sh*ts. Do not buy from this company is you value your life or have any moral compass.

In my 40 year career in the motor…

In my 40 year career in the motor industry I’ve never experienced or heard of the disgusting level of service offered by Peugeot.

Customer service won’t talk to you, never call back and simply don’t care.

6 month old 3008 broken down, dealer won’t accept the breakdown without a booking, you have to wait 2 weeks for a booking, RAC fail to drop the car off on the day of my booking and I have to wait another 2 weeks for a new booking. Complain to RAC and Peugeot and not a ounce of sympathy, that’s if you are lucky enough to talk to anyone.

I’ve had to rent a car for a month as neither Peugeot or the RAC will provide a courtesy vehicle until the fault is diagnosed.

This is just a summary of my complaint the full version reads like a Stephen King horror novel. Shameful utterly shameful Peugeot.

I have a mobility car from Peugeot and I feel that they are not very helpful when there is a problem. I need my wav vehicle to take and pick up my son to school. There is a 4 hour window that they can fit me in but are not accommodating with my request. I am told to get it there for 8am or it will not be sorted but my son starts school at 9am!!!!
I am in France and my ad blu light told me I had only had 250miles before it would not start. Peugeot France took it in for a reset and I was away within 5 minutes, HAPPY, no charge, I had a similar problem in the uk and it took them to have the car all day and £204.
How the hell can it be that expensive when Peugeot France sorted straight away and no charge but I did give the man €20 as a thank you.

Had to take my car for a recall whilst 200 miles from home. Contacted Perry’s Peugeot in Bury. And to say they was more than helpful was an understatement. Booked me in next day and done and dusted including valet in two hours.
Thank you.

DO NOT BUY FROM PSA STELLANTIS

DO NOT BUY FROM ANY OF THE BRANDS UNDER PSA OR STELLANTIS!!
The customer care is horrendous, 6 recalls in less than one year of ownership and then they expect you to take the day off work or pay for someone to collect the faulty car!
Have had 6 Peugeots and the quality is now through the floor and customer service even worse.
App does not work but you still have to pay!
Top to bottom absolutely appalling company!!

Got a recall notice for my 7 year old…

Got a recall notice for my 7 year old car, I called the recall helpline and was told they would tow the vehicle to the garage at their own expense. I found that unusual so asked for it in writing. She said no need to get it in writing as all calls are recorded. I subsequently spoke to Peugeot customer care who said that they would not be liable for any recovery costs and that I would need to pay. Called back the recall line, and they said they agreed with the customer care team and that I am liable for all costs. Not only that but he was very rude and unprofessional. Absolutely disgraceful customer service and full of liars who'll say anything to get rid of you.

Peugeot e-3008

Peugeot e-3008 - a £50k with a phone that only works if you are prepared to pay. Shame really, a decent car but no use whatsoever if you don’t pay the annual fee to connect to your phone. We’ve had many modern cars and never have we had to pay to get basic info in the app. 6 months free then you’re cut off from the car - very poor in this tech age.

Cam chain

I bought a peugeot 308 in 2020 and at 45k miles the cam chain went costing near 4k, bought a second car in 2023 and in February that cam chain went costing nr 2k.
Peugeot have dismissed everything and unwilling to compensate to the the fault they know about.
They install a 7mm cam chain when it should be an 8mm, they are aware of the issue but pass it off to the customer. Absolutely disgusting service and I for 1 will be going to the ombudsman and potentially court as its a recurring fault... thanks peugeot

!!!!LOYAL FAITH IN PEUGEOT DRAINED AWAY!!!!

!!!!LOYAL FAITH IN PEUGEOT DRAINED AWAY!!!!

Loyal faith in Peugeot drained away! My daughter had her Peugeot 308 serviced regularly at Charters Aldershot. January 2025 had issues with her windscreen wipers. AA called and reported battery problem. Car taken to Charters Aldershot with AA report for investigation and rectification. Bill of £607.12 paid. (Rectification included a battery of £277.79 exc. VAT with a guarantee of 12 months - many car organisation battery charges could be significantly less with a 3 year guarantee.) Several days later in January 2025 same fault occurs and so returned to Charters Aldershot for rectification. Charters Aldershot then proposed a bill of £607.12 for rectification. Considered a total bill of £1,060.47 excessive for what was thought to be a fairly minor issue. Thus, proposed further rectification work from Charters Aldershot de declined.

In attempting contacting Peugeot UK Coventry, wrote recorded delivery to Martin Page Company Secretary. Delegated to complaints department who maintained diagnostic test costs satisfactory. Cutting a long story short required to submit AA report twice and in following up with several letters as no response forthcoming wrote again recorded delivery to Martin Page Company Secretary. Complaints delegate apologised for lack of responses and in so doing suggested a return approach to Charters Aldershot and possibly a referral to the Motor Ombudsman.

Thought the saga above would be uncommon. However, now having seen reviews on this site and information gleaned from other sources it would seem that Peugeot Dealerships and Peugeot UK are not duly concerned about Customer Care. Please be warned about buying or repairing Peugeot models.

Peugeot e-3008

I have owned three new models since 2019. First one bought was 5008 gt diesel, fantastic car, second was bought in 2022 a 308 sw, again a great car, third was bought in2023, again a very good car, but wo is me I decided to buy the new e-3008 gt in December last.
What a terrible £50,000 of total let down.
Carried out the usual software updates as recommended but alas things started to go wrong, firstly the ivi unit packed up and duly returned to dealer on 8th July 2025 which has taken until today to be installed to now be told that after they fitted it the reversing camera has ceased to work.
This car was the GT model with some extras fitted at the time of ordering, what a terrible car.
I was told that as I purchased a brand new model in the Peugeot range that was only to be expected, suffice to say that I will probably not be buying another Peugeot, certainly not in their ev line up.

AVOID PEUGEOT – Dangerous Cars, Dishonest Staff, and a Customer Service Team That Couldn’t Care Less

Peugeot and Sherwoods Durham are an absolute disgrace. I bought a 2020 Peugeot 208, and it’s been nothing but a string of serious issues and complete indifference from everyone involved — from the dealership to Peugeot UK’s so-called “Customer Care.”

Just two months after buying the car, the timing belt was disintegrating into the engine, causing the car to cut out while driving. A serious safety risk. When I reported it, I was told to keep driving and that it was just because “it was cold.” That turned out to be complete rubbish — there were known timing belt issues and even recalls on my model. They put me and others at risk through sheer negligence.

Now, the blower motor is failing. It’s making banging and popping noises, the fan doesn’t respond properly, and you can literally see the motor pulsating on camera. I’ve had multiple independent garages tell me they’ve never seen anything like it and that it’s clearly a mechanical defect — and yet Peugeot refuses to help unless I pay out of pocket for a diagnosis. That’s insulting, given the circumstances.

I contacted Peugeot UK Customer Service, thinking someone would take this seriously. Instead, I was spoken down to, dismissed, and treated like a nuisance. I gave them proof of my phone calls to the dealership (who lied and claimed I never contacted them) and even referenced the recall notices, and now? They’re completely ignoring my emails — conveniently silent now that they’ve been caught lying.

Let’s be real: they know I’m right. That’s why they’re ducking responsibility. They’re clearly hoping I’ll give up — but I won’t. I’ve already submitted a case to the Motor Ombudsman, and I’m making sure as many people as possible know just how disgusting their service is.

This was my first car. And instead of being supported as a customer, I was taken advantage of — lied to, fobbed off, and put at risk by a manufacturer and dealership who don’t care one bit.

If you’re reading this and thinking of buying from Peugeot — don’t.
Avoid Sherwoods Durham. Avoid Peugeot UK. Avoid being ripped off and put in danger.

Avoid . Customer service is abysmal.

Unbelievably poor customer service when dealing with an unbelievably poor My Peugeot app. Had car a week and won't connect . Pretty much need to with an EV. Daily having to send them the same screen shots . Going around in circles. Spoke to customer services who spoke to me like I was stupid and wouldn't help further. Regretting getting a Peugeot now .

Avoid like the plague!

From customer service to Warranty without a doubt the worst and i would steer well clear of this brand (unless you happen to be driving the brand, then you won't be "steering" anywhere). I have a fleet of their vans and have nothing but trouble, then when you expect warranty they spend almost a month whilst holding your vehicle, arguing that you have used the wrong oil when servicing. When you prove you have used the oil specified on the official Peugeot letter and handbook received with the vehicle, they say they changed it! They cannot show you where they notified you of this change, in fact they ignore the request entirely.
Legal action on the way.
