I completed delivery jobs for PicUp and experienced ongoing issues getting paid. Emails were ignored, follow‑ups went unanswered, and payments were delayed without clear explanations.
After speaking with other drivers, it appears this is not an isolated experience.
I’m sharing this so other contractors can make an informed decision before working with PicUp.
If you’re considering contracting with them, make sure you keep records of every job and payment.
Transparency and communication matter — unfortunately, this was not my experience.

Very poor experience as an owner-driver. Communication was inconsistent, key details about job scope and payment were not clearly explained upfront, and I was required to chase basic information multiple times.
After completing assigned work in good faith, my account was deactivated without notice while payments were still unresolved. When payment was eventually made, it was sent without any proper statement or breakdown, despite repeated requests. Promises to “check with the team and get back to me” were not followed up.
Overall, the process felt unorganised and lacking transparency. I would strongly caution other drivers to get everything in writing before starting and to be clear on who is responsible for payment and support.

Very bad communication from the start. I booked for them to pick up a sofa (10am to 2pm). The can finally came at the location to pick up the sofa at 3.30pm. I opted for offering help for reduced cost. My son was there to help carry the sofa. Overall won’t be using their service again.
DPD collection point closes at 5pm, not 10pm as advertised
Went to collect a DPD parcel from Morrisons in Over Hulton (58 Newbrook Road, BOLTON, BL5 1ER) only to be informed by the helpful lady behind the counter (not her fault) that the collection counter closes at 5pm.... what a complete waste of time. Advised by DPD that the collection times were 9am-10pm. Although the store is open and the parcels are behind the counter, the staff have been informed by management they are not allowed to serve customers after 5pm.

I was supposed to have a delivery yesterday and it was not delivered or any communication from the company. So now I’m just sitting here wondering what’s going on with the items I bought because the communication is nonexistent.
Doesn’t Deliver!
Scheduled delivery time online with the payment in full. Did not deliver on the day / time agreed. Sent text saying delays and would be late but not that they would not be here. Rescheduled again. Another day out of the office. One more change then I am going after my credit card to get my payment back and find another vendor.

If I could give Pickup a Minus -10 I would. They are awful. Advised that delivery would be on Saturday, then Monday, now Tuesday and now they can't give me a definite date. WTH. I would never use them again.

well they said it would be delivered yesterday,but that didn't happen so i get told they tried,lies and fibs if i paid for same day, why do i have to wait till later,not fair at all.
First Time Delivery
First time delivery and my item was correct and bagged with the paper receipt. Email updates very efficient and delivery completed in the stated time frame. Only suggestion leaving the package inside the outer gate for safety of package receipt. My front yard small gate isn't locked and has a tie down easily unhooked to open it and there are no dogs on property. The package was left about 2 feet from the outside of the gate in the driveway. The walkway inside the gate is also within arm's length to place packages over the top of the gate without opening it. Thank You

Very poor service and communication.
I ordered same day delivery from Big Lots. The driver left someone else's order. I immediately contacted the company to have them come get the wrong order and bring mine.
They have terrible communication- I only heard back from them the following day. They did finally deliver my correct items but refused to correct their mistake- they told me I needed to contact Big Lots to deal with the incorrect item I received. They also declined to refund my delivery fee, despite my not receiving same day delivery! Very poor service and communication.
Don't expect the delivery anytime soon.
Good price, BUT you are required to have a lot of patience. They advertise same day delivery. After 3 days of waiting they rescheduled for the next day again. They don't seem to care much. Newer requests are taken before older ones.
It's like Uber for pickup and deliveries..
It was clear that morning that I would not get my delivery that day. They had already sent out a message saying they were delayed and would TRY to deliver by the end of the day. Then I decided to Google some reviews and realize I made a huge mistake. I went right up to Big Lots and canceled my order. The store employee stated they get tons of complaints. And when I looked on the Pickup site, I saw that it's like Uber. If you own a registered truck or cargo van, you can sign and be a sub-contractor of theirs. So, if no one selects your order for delivery, then it will not get picked up.
Poor customer service
Order was scheduled for delivery on 12/5/23 between 3-7 pm (paid EXTRA). Was delivered 12/6/23 at 10:56 am. No updates, no information, a total lack of communication. Horrible experience
Complete scam
Complete scam. I added “same day” delivery to an order from Big Lots through this company, which got scheduled for 3 days later. We were given a 12-hour window and no one ever showed up, so we had cancelled all of our plans that day for no reason. Then we used their web site to reschedule and the exact same thing happened again! We tried contacting customer service for Pickup, who told us they “can’t guarantee” that they will be able to get anyone to deliver during the promised window.
We ended up finding our own movers who were friendly, reasonable, and on time. Save your time and money!

I will never use Pickup service again
I will never use Pickup service again. I had paid for a couch to be delivered upstairs into my living room. First delivery window that was scheduled could not be met and then I had to reschedule to 2 days later. On the day of the delivery they delivered 3 hours after my delivery window. When they showed up for delivery, they only sent 1 person, how did they expect her to get a couch upstairs by herself? Of course I helped her take the couch upstairs but why am I paying for this service when I could've done it myself? Highly recommend not using Pickup, they don't know what they're doing.

Delivery person left the item on my driveway facing the street. They did not put item at my door where it would be safe. They were avoiding my doorbell camera. This is an item that was not in any packaging, meaning anyone from the street could see what was delivered on my driveway. It does not make any sense. Cameras do not show that the package was left, seems a picture was taken and then the package was removed by delivery person. Why is Big Lot using such an unreliable company?

Horrible service, DO NOT USE
Horrible service. It was ordered Tuesday "same day delivery" but the only day they supposedly deliver is on Saturdays. Scheduled for 9am-9pm. Was trying to surprise someone, and there's a lot of stuff to move, so I tried to pin them down on delivery day. They said they were looking for drivers, so it sounded like they had no one at all. Couldn't give me even a rough estimate. Sent me a link to a page that said they couldn't give any estimates, and they were working on it. No updates, even when it had to have been clear to them it wasn't happening. After the whole 12 hours passed, I got a message that I have to reschedule. For a week from now. I chatted with them, and they said they can't guarantee I'll get it then either, because they don't know until that day who they'll have (if anyone?). This is not how scheduling works. I'm not sure I'll ever get it.
