Glad I used it!
I was able to navigate throughout the platform fairly easily. I loved the process, but the only thing I didn't like was the watermark at the end of my videos...almost forces you to pay for a plan. Other than that I've already told others about Pictory.

Pictory is getting worse and worse
I have been using Pictory since the end of last year, have already created 23 videos and my YouTube channel already has 1200 active subscribers.
Now, when creating the last video, I couldn't use the Premium German voice over Martin, which I used for all my videos. I got an error message. The support first told me that it would work for them and that I should delete my caches, which is definitely nonsense, because all the other voice overs had worked. After several emails from me, support told me that the voice over I was using was no longer available. What kind of logic is that? Instead of you improving your quality, this is a big step backwards and I'm left looking stupid!

OK-ish for AI - Bad for editing
The benefits:
-ability to have AI generate a video for you
-the selection of premium voice overs that sound pretty realistic
The cons:
-if you want to do any editing of the AI-generated video, it is incredibly clunky and each preview is very slow to load. Normally when you are editing a video, going back and forth between previewing parts and editing, however, each time you click preview, it is really slow, so it leads to a suuuuuper slow editing process
-Like every other video editor in the world, it doesn't show you the "tracks" layered on top of each other. Normally you can see sort of a timeline of: the video is playing from seconds 1-20, and the audio is overlayed on it from seconds 1-25. This allows you to do things like slow down the video so it extends all the way to second 25. No can do here. You cant see the length of the video until you generate the preview, which again takes an annoyingly long time
-You can't even change the speed of the video that is played. All you can do is trim it. You can't speed it up or slow it down to fit it into the timeframe you want it to fit
MOST IMPORTANTLY:
When you are typing a message in their customer support chat, if you hit the backspace button, rather than deleting the last text you entered into the support chat, it thinks you are trying to delete the SCENE that is selected in the background. I accidentally deleted scenes multiple times while just trying to send a message to their support chat. SUPER frustrating.
In summary, if their value proposition is AI-generated videos - it's OK-ish but I dont think it's the winner. Since the AI-generated videos are OK-ish, then you pretty much have to be able to edit them, and their editor is worse than almost any video editor out there.

A disappointment
My experience with Pictory has been absolutely frustrating. It could be a great platform if it weren’t for the constant issues and the terrible support. It’s a shame because without the endless bugs and in the hands of more competent people, it would be excellent.

Pictory is AWFULLLLLL
Pictory is AWFULLLLLL. I t's toooo slow, when I want to select the text, it takes ages... when I want to adjust the pic while in portrait shape, it's even impossible to double click. If you want to do anything in Pictory, it wastes your time as much as it can :(

Complete rubbish.
Clunky and produces content full of errors. It is almost impossible to produce a workable video from start to finish without an issue with the voiceover, scene, or rendering.
I have lost count of the hours wasted trying to get this to produce content efficiently. I have also lost count of the number of support requests raised without resolution.
It is actually quicker and much less frustrating to manually produce the video through software like Capcut and add a voiceover direct from Elevenlabs.
I wish we had gone with the monthly plan rather than the annual one because obtaining any pro-rata refund is proving impossible.

Pictory.ai is a Waste of Time! Fake AI Automation Exposed!
Thinking of using Pictory.ai to generate an automated video? Think again! I tried using their AI-powered text-to-video feature, expecting a smooth and hassle-free process. Instead, I got a bunch of placeholder frames, irrelevant visuals, and robotic narration that made no sense. The whole point of AI automation is to save time, but Pictory requires so much manual editing that you might as well build the video from scratch! If you’re looking for a truly automated video creation tool, this isn’t it. Disappointed!

One of my must have AI apps!
This is one of my favorite AI app discoveries. It basically can synthesize content for videos and makes post edit easy. I often get so many compliments when I use Pictory to create and people don't realize how much time this saved me from searching or affording so many stock libraries for image, video, VO or music. I love that I can easily transform a powerpoint deck and it's also allows me to change up any media matched that doesn't represent my content or upload content that does. I highly recommend for the service and the simplicity. I think a lot of tools strive to make their online edit tools this simple but, Pictory is ahead of the game!

Excellent service
I use this primarily for making lyric videos of my songs and for slide show videos, and it works great! There is a vast selection of video clips to use, as well as music, which I sometimes use for the slide show videos.
