THE DIRECTOR OF THIS COMPANY IS A RACIST

I bought a lot of plugins from this company, but they deleted my account just because I'm Russian! This is pure racism! Never buy anything from these racists unless you want to lose access to your account one day.

Useful plugins

Useful plugins, high-quality sound. Do not mind low stars reviews, it is mostly russian bots and trolls who pirated most of the plugins anyway.

A company of scammers and racists

A company of scammers and racists. Blocked the opportunity to use paid products for users from Russia and Belarus, did not return the money and was allowed to ignore. And their chief calls for the genocide of Russians. Know this information and think 1000 times before contacting these scum who support nazism.

Blocked access

Not understanding the fakes that spread their news, not understanding the essence of the conflict, they blocked access to all Russian-speaking users who have nothing to do with this lawlessness.
Thus, only inciting hatred for themselves and their country, nothing more. God is their judge.

Great emulations of vintage gear.

Hi,

I like the possibility to use them on older OS.
I used the monthly subscription plan for two years.
Because it was a monthly plan , I knew about the automatic renewal policy. Actually, every month I was able to check my invoices ...and to read the following statement :
''Hassle-free:
Monthly and Yearly bundle plans (subscriptions) will auto-renew every month or every year,
until you cancel your subscription plan. We will not refund any Subscription and/or Bundle payments.''

I would recommend the monthly plan as it less risky to miss a cancellation worth a month of payment than a year subscription payment!

It took me two years to make up my mind on what to buy from them. Once I started to receive discounts and promotion codes, I slowly built my collection ...I ended up getting 31 plugins from them.

However, the SSL G is not quite accurate in terms of EQ, I noticed an offset between the frequency selection and the actual response from the plugin.
Not a problem on the SSL J.

So take your time...and test the ones you care about.
The mix & master bundle was in promotion when I went for it...$15/month. Since then, that plan doesn't exist anymore. But still it's worth waiting for a special promotion on one of their new bundle packs.

Would be great to see an un-installer for the plugins I don't need anymore. Still trying to figure out ...

But great plugins overall.

Great plugins but support is slow and…

Great plugins but support is slow and sometimes requires multiple attempts to get a response. They just lost some money from me as I couldn't find the voucher they recently sent me. I reached out to support but no one bothered getting back to me and the sale ended (not paying $300 for a plugin that was just $29.99 a few hours ago). If they are going to run a business on sales with short deadlines, you would think they would respond to payment based tickets faster.

Tacky, please AT LEAST upgrade your security protocols...

Excellent plugins, great prices. I haven't used the lease option which seems a bit too predatory in my opinion.
One main issue I have is in the interface with their products/website/desktop portal, more specifically with the login process which is unecessarily wonky: First of all, the login page on the installation software doesn't support copy/paste of passwords. That means they expect you to use a "memorable" one that you can type key by key (and forget about the use of password managers). Sorry but in 2021 this is simply barbaric and so unsafe, they really should take a course in general internet protection. Needless to say, chances are you'll have to use their "reset password" feature...
BUT THEN when that happens, you're greeted by an HTTP Unsecure webpage (asking you to type a personal password, remember?). For a company of that importance this is just laughable and borderline indecent.
FOR CUSTOMERS: if you're unbothered by internet privacy/security fuss, fair enough. However, this kind of neglection coming from a business that takes recurring payment on the internet might give you an general idea of the type of company you're dealing with. You've been warned...

"GOTCHA" RETAILER. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

If you use the LEASE option for plug-ins, be advised it is a LIFETIME lease unless you cancel. Your lease will be RENEWED WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE. Even if you cancel a yearly renewal within days of renewal, the company REFUSES to refund the unused portion of the lease. I got a yearly subscription for a package of plugs to evaluate which ones were worth buying. I bought four, but the rest weren't useful or failed to deliver on the hype. Instead of buying a yearly lease, I advise you to do the following: (1) buy a one month lease on a package. (2) Once the lease is active, CANCEL IT IMMEDIATELY. You will still have 30 days to evaluate your plugs and buy full licenses for the useful ones. This is a plain and simple "terms of service" scam. They know we don't read the fine print. They hook you in with cheap prices then rip you off. Everyone of my ISP, digital storage, and software subscriptions notify me when I'm up for renewal except for these guys. Pissing off their customer base is a doomed strategy - I don't think these guys will be around long. There are plenty of reviews similar to this here.

A pluginalliance scam

A pluginalliance scam, my annual subscription that I had already canceled was renewed without my consent. In fact, they "hide" in your account where you can cancel the automatic subscription renewal. I barely received the payment I claimed and nothing, ... It is a robbery, consider that canceling does not require the return of physical products, it is clear how these people make a living stealing from their "customers", .... Never again PluginAlliance

Recently dealt with Waves and Plugin Alliance.

I recently dealt with both Waves and Plugin Alliance. The service is like night and day. Waves was great. Plugin alliance didn't want to answer my questions or help in any way. The installer/license software from Plugin Alliance is significantly subpar. Steer clear is my advice.

Unresponsive scam

Unresponsive scam. Use extreme caution. I attempted to purchase their ampeg bundle last week, listed at $5.99. I thought, what a great deal! I enter my payment info, agree to the $5.99 purchase and click “confirm.” Immediately after I search for my newly acquired licenses in the download manager app, they’re nowhere to be found. Instead I see about ten random products. I check to see if a transaction has been listed on my bank statement. Sure enough, however, my intended $5.99 purchase is listed as a $318 purchase.

I immediately try contacting plugin alliance demanding this transaction be voided and corrected. Opened two support tickets, which is the only communication avenue they provide. Ended up having to dispute the transaction with my bank. To this day I haven’t been given a response from PA. The only activity I’ve noticed was one of the two support tickets was closed and merged with the other. Sad they have zero regard for their customers. I really wanted to like and use their products.

Pretty confident there is a consensus Plugin Alliance has excellent plugins ...

I think there is a consensus - even among the automatic annual renewal haters that dominate these reviews - that quite a few of their hardware emulation plugins are simply excellent!

I have an annual subscription to the Mix and Master bundle that has 98 of their plugins (their Mega Bundle has 137 plugins in total) and with their frequent discount coupons/codes they keep sending you throughout the year I bought near a few dozen or so plugins that are the core of their “Musician Bundle” (51 plugins) like famous virtual guitar amps.

Being in the situation to be able to use nearly all of their plugins I kind of struggled with the spoilt for choice problem of not knowing what to use for what, each plugin comes with its own manual but I miss the kinds of tutorials in which multiple plugins are introduced in a musical project. I am thinking you have to be a veteran recording engineer to know what to use and what not to use and I find the sheer number plugins that perform similar tasks simply overwhelming (this is not the exclusive problem of Plugin Alliance; you’ll struggle with the cornucopia of Waves bundles also and I guess it would the same with the Slate digital bundle etc).

Obviously “spoilt for choice” is not exactly the worst problem to deal with and I guess you would have to figure out a pathway yourself through all this abundance possibly helped by some Youtube tutorials and by doing that dreaded task of reading the manuals.

As for support, I never had a problem so I never reached out to them. I recently had a problem with their installer installing “DS Audio” data files in a ridiculous “My” directory which should have been “My documents” but I figured that out for myself and moving that stuff to the proper dir fixed that issue.

Their installer currently has these options, install:
All products; Subscription Bundles; My Products; My Trials. I don't think Plugin Alliance is to blame when you ignorantly choose "All products" when your bundle or individual plugin(s) bought clearly doesn't cover "all products". That stupidity is on you!

Regular prices for their plugins are in the fantasy realm with many being in the $150 bracket with a handful of plugins well over $200. Like I suggested earlier you’ll keep receiving discount coupons and other forms of promotions all year long bringing them in the range of $29- $50 and their Halloween promo will reduce virtually ALL of their plugins (with the exception of 12 or so) to the price of … $29 a piece.

Still, I cancelled my annual subscription because I HATE automatic renewals, by cancelling I also forfeit the coupon for buying their plugins equaling your renewal price. I might restart the subscription if they tempt me with a considerably lower annual price. For now, I plan to use the plugins that I purchased after my Mix and Master bundle will end and for the mixing and mastering I might look at plugins that I already have but NEVER ever used like Waves, IKMultimedia and Native Instruments. I would have given 4.5 stars if that were possible.

Support disaster

Unfortunately, the support from the Plug In Alliance is a complete disaster. The internal ticket system is opaque and does not provide information via email, but forces the consumer to independently see whether they have possibly received an answer. The external offers are another topic. You can buy it and then the search for the voucher begins. It is not clear why the number is not sent by email or at least clearly marked on the page. Instead, you have to seek support and end up in the unspeakable ticket system without notifications ...
We will remain as customers, but with a reduced intensity.
