This company communicates with you via a centre not via the engineers who only attend once money is paid - and don't seem anxious to say anything. 50% for a boiler on signing and 50% the next day before they will come. Any visit they ask to be paid in advance. Make sure that you record what they initially said they would do. Ask for everything to be done by email - not over the phone. Make sure that you ask whether it is up to you whether the boiler works satisfactorily once they have set it to default conditions. Make sure that you ask whether they are signed up for a government approved arbitration system - you might need it.

The plumber was polite, explained the solution clearly before starting, and completed the job without any hassle.

Emergency call-out for a 90-year-old neighbour with a leaking oil boiler.
This was explained clearly at booking.
PM247 accepted the job, sent an engineer not qualified to work on oil boilers, carried out no repair, then refused a refund for the £144 call-out.

Their website says no payment unless the drain is unblocked. Quoted £120+VAT if it was possible to do with rodding. They did NOT describe this as a call-out fee. They arrived and said more machinery was needed, and quoted over £450.
When I said I didn't want to go ahead, they said that the technician would not leave my property till I paid them £120+VAT. Quite intimidating to a woman on her own with a male technician. Terrifying to someone elderly or vulnerable, I am sure.
The technician then came to my door and offered to do the job for £250 in cash.
I have since had so many calls, I have had to block their number. The woman I spoke to was incredibly aggressive. I have reported them to Trading Standards, and will be following this up with a report to Action Fraud.
In response to PM247's reply: I had already raised the intimidation point with them by email, and their very aggressive reply was that there is no evidence of intimidation, and they intend to "progress things further" in relation to the money they say I owe them. Don't be fooled by their reply.

STRONG WARNING!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
It seems like this place is run by an individual, and they are extremely unfriendly and unprofessional.
They pushed us to pay in advance, and even though nothing was actually done, they refused to give us a refund (we lost £144). Do not use this place under any circumstances! This place deserves to go out of business!

Warning – do not use this company
I had a very bad experience with PM247.
They charged a call-out fee but did not properly resolve the issue.
The pricing was unclear, and I felt pressured to accept additional costs on the day.
I would not recommend this company to anyone and suggest using a more transparent and reputable plumber.

We’ve had plumbing work done before by other companies, but this felt a lot more straightforward. Clear communication, fair pricing, and no stress from start to finish.

**Update** - AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Had the standard reply pretending they are interested that you engage with them. Ignore as this is a smokescreen. After further research (which I should have done before) they don't even appear to have any accreditations to Plumbing organizations.
Please do not use.
Awful company. Avoid at all costs, ridiculous pricing, aggressive staff on the phone and wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. As per other reviews don't bother with contacting them. The worst kind of company that give genuine plumbers a bad name.

Avoid this company at all costs and don’t listen to their response here of apologies. This is all fake just like their service and invoices. They refuse to investigate consider a partial refund and now I have no choice but take to the small claims court.

I called PM247 for a leaking pipe under the sink. The engineer arrived on time, explained the problem clearly, and repaired it properly. Everything was tested before he left. Very happy with the service.

Our heating stopped working suddenly. The engineer diagnosed the fault quickly and replaced the faulty part without delay. Good communication and fair pricing throughout.

SCAM FOR MONEY DO NOT USE OR CONTACT! If I could give 0 I would. This company charge you £144 for a phone call ! They book appointments without your knowledge and when you try and cancel these appointments they ignore you. When you call them they are rude aggressive and arrogant ! Words used “ we don’t care “ they demand £144 for you saying you did not book the appointment. Nothing was signed that they sent me to agree!
These are the worst surprised they are allowed to trade ! Threats of intimidation won’t work you do this I will report you to the Police !

The plumber was polite and came quickly but the fees for the job are excessively high. I have paid extra for the plumber to use a camera inside the pipes but he ended up not using it as the camera would not fit and would get stuck. But then I still had to pay for it!! Wasn't really happy. I would only use PM247 in an extreme emergency (because you can book an appt same day) but otherwise I avoid this due to their high prices! If the company continues this way, there would not be too many happy customers..

I wish I had read these reviews before booking with this company. I will never use them again and will tell others not to either. The engineer was aggressive and threatening. They were unable to make the agreed time on Sunday so I had to move the appointment to Monday and left my friend to deal with it. The appointment was for 8-10am then 11am then the engineer arrived at 12pm! The fee for unblocking the drain became a "call out" charge with a further £545 quoted to unblock the outside drain. A job done by dynorod 3 times for £178 inc vat and call out. My friend is a strong person, I only can imagine what the impact and result would have been with a vulnerable or elderly person. We paid the fake call out charge to get rid of the workman. Once this had been done he reduced the fee for the work to £210 and basically would not leave. Utterly horrendous. I would give zero stars if possible. Shocked that they are still in business.

Unfortunately I must share this review as a warning to others never, ever to use this exploitative company. My elderly step-mother awoke to find a pipe in an outbuilding had burst and searched online for a plumber in my parents' postcode (Kent). PM247 is not a local business but has a network of plumbers so an individual based locally attended. My parents reported that the individual who attended was polite and helpful and (seemingly in good faith) started work to repair the issue (simply replacing a stopcock and a small piece of pipe). My step-mother then spoke with 'head office' who informed her that the price would be over £900 +VAT. She protested on the basis that this seemed ludicrously high and they simply could not afford this and the price was then reduced to £625. She continued to protest but under some duress acquiesced, only to then be informed at the point of payment that the price was £625 +VAT so £750 for attending, undertaking minor works and leaving within approximately two hours (a job that even at emergency rates should be an absolute maximum of £350). I spoke with my step-mother later that day and she was in some distress so I called PM247 to speak with them in the first instance. I was then directed to email them to raise the issue. I have subsequently been in correspondence with them to give them the opportunity to rectify the situation with a partial refund and they have not only refused, but have insisted that works did not commence before pricing was confirmed and explained - this is not true. This is clearly a rogue organisation fully prepared to exploit anyone including the elderly and vulnerable (as evidenced by many other reviews) and I would be interested in liaising with others re my intention to raise this with Watchdog, Rip Off Britain, You and Yours and Money Box Live.
***Update - Having contacted PM247 again following their response below, I have received no response. Clearly they have absolutely no interest in seeking to rectify this issue***

Used this company recently for a burst pipe/leak at my house. While the plumber arrived promptly and was polite, the charges were excessive for the amount of work involved. I was billed a call-out fee and then an additional “trace and access” charge, which amounted to cutting holes in the walls (repairs you must arrange and pay for yourself) until the leak was located.
I was then quoted a further substantial amount to actually fix the pipe, which I declined. My regular plumber later repaired the burst pipe at a fraction of the cost. After discussing it with him, we both agree that PM247’s pricing is extortionate and completely out of reach for the average household.
Only use this company if you are in a serious emergency and cost is not a concern. Otherwise, I strongly recommend getting quotes elsewhere first.

Unfortunately, I am required to give one star, although my experience does not merit it.
I contacted this company to unblock a sink and was quoted £120 + VAT. Upon arrival, the engineer stated that additional work was required and increased the price to £522. I was informed that even if I declined, I would still need to pay the original call-out fee, which placed me under pressure to proceed.
The work was completed in approximately 10–30 minutes using standard drain-clearing equipment. No clear explanation or evidence was provided to justify the significant increase in cost.
I later obtained a quote from another company for the same work using the same equipment at £140 + VAT, which highlights how disproportionate this charge was.
Based on my experience, I found the pricing to be misleading and the service poor value for money. I would not use this company again.

on the 10th September I had a leak in my kitchen and could not identify where it was coming from. I contacted this company and they advised me they charge £144 and should be able to identify the leak same day and fix it too. On arrival he called his office who said i had to pay another £540 to trace and identify leak. He then went in my kitchen and put a mask on an started to dig the tiles no assessment was conducted. After he removed he said observe it and i let us know if still wet and will cost more to fix but would not repair tiles . The person on the phone said we do it all but that was not true and after he left i was not comfortable with him and noticed the floor was still wet but not from where he had removed tiles.
I contacted another local company who could not come on that day they sent someone to have a look and they said the leak is coming from washing machine pipe and fixed it for less than £100 and advised me that seems like you contacted a cowboy company as they started digging without checking leak detectors have tools that they use to see where the wetness is coming from and do certain tests so do charge a lot but in your case for a professional it was easy to identify without tools.
They charges me £144 & £540 a total to ruin my kitchen. i got advise from CAB and emailed them an called them to complain. After about 25 emails they said we can refund you the £540 but not the £144 . I also had to buy 4 more new tiles and get them fitted which cost me more money.
I wanted to take it further but accepted the £540 but this company is the worst company I have ever used. After what they did they should have refunded all the money including the cost of getting the kitchen tiles done again . AS HAD HE HAD THE TOOLS OR KNOWLEDGE HE WOULD HAVE NOT REMOVED THEM IN THE 1ST PLACE AS THE LEAK WAS NOT EVEN COMING FROM THEIR.
MY ADVISE IS DO NOT USE THIS SCAM COMPANY!!!!!!

The plumber sorted the job quickly and efficiently but the head office phone contact was rude, demanding and threatening. He quoted an outrageously high price for doing what was an hours work on site. I'd employ the plumber again but I wouldn't touch pm247 with a barge pole..!
Update [23/01/2026] I received an apologetic email inviting me to phone and discuss this review. I tried to call twice and each time I was promised a call back from someone dealing with it. It never happened. My opinion hasn't changed..!
